Need a smaller drawer with only 3 drawers and a worn white look? HomeGoods. Need a few specific spices and a turn table for your kitchen? Boom, HomeGoods. If there's something really random I need for my house and I want a fairly reasonable price, HomeGoods really is a great option.

(I'm mainly also speaking to females here, but if you are a male with that fashion sense then I mean hey go for it haha) I really had no idea what I was walking into the first time I went to Versona. All I knew was that I was in desperate need of some cute dress pants and just a whole outfit for a presentation that was in a few days, so I needed to find something that day. I searched the handy old internet to find some stores nearby that might have what I was looking for at more reasonable prices, and that's when Versona crossed the radar. This is an awesome store! I am far from being a fashionista or really having any trustworthy sense of fashion, but this store has some CUTE items! From tanks to long sleeves to jackets to pants, they have a great selection of different types of clothes that can all be dressed up or are just the professional look you need (or I needed at least). Because, let's be honest- especially for women, previous decades of business appropriate clothes can be UGLY. Like, so awkward fitting, looking, and just really not making you feel confident or good about yourself in any way. But Versona has that touch of modern trends in their styles where you will like how the clothes fit and look. Trust me, it's a big deal! And the best part: the prices are so in reach! Broke college kid speaking here too (rip)- I didn't feel like I was giving away part of my soul just to have some more dress clothes. Most of their pants are around $30-40! They also have at least 3 displays of jewelry, scarves, shoes, sunglasses and so, so much. Oh yeah, you can try on your picks in their dressing rooms that are open again. Hallelujah! Go check them out!

Take a look at the attached pic - all of those red signs? Sale items! Given the size of this light and airy store (a/k/a HUGE), the amount of floor space dedicated to sale product is...most excellent. Particularly for those of us savvy shoppers who will WAIT, if necessary, until a piece goes on sale - if it stays (slays) in stock. Also, if you have the pennies to spend, I can pretty much guarantee you will find a dress, blouse, accessory, what-have-you, that NO ONE ELSE is rocking (yet). I regularly visit the Winter Park store and now I'll show the Lakeland location as much love as my wallet can stand. J'adore!

The first time I walked into this store, and mentioned that I had made an internet order and had a question, the sales idiot says to me: "now why would you order online and screw us out of a commission and give it to some guy in Baltimore? You should think about that before ordering online." No kidding. I turned right around and walked out of the store. I thought this was an isolated incident, and went back in there some time later, and was treated almost identically by another person who made me feel like my presence was a burden in the store. Was I underdressed? No, I was dressed to the nines walking in there as I usually am, so obviously I'm not some poorly dressed slob in a ratty t-shirt and flip flops who looks like he can't afford the free peppermints on the countertop. I have bought quite a sum of money's worth of clothing from Jos. A. Bank online over time and it will continue to be that way. Anything to keep me out of their retail store in Lakeland is a good thing to me. Occasionally, I have to go in there to pick up an altered suit I purchased online and I make great pains to ask for the same individual, who is a lady, because the rest of them are just pompous jerks. She is very sweet and courteous. The rest of that staff aren't worthy of being used car salesmen. In fact, I'm sure some of them probably came from the used car lot because they couldn't hack it. Yes, I'm disgusted by this place and it makes my skin crawl to have to go in there. If I could give them a negative star, I would. Great clothing but pathetic customer service.

From a distance the shelves look full, but up close there isn't much that stands out. Kind of a "Mona Lisa effect"--better from afar than up close. That said, the staff was friendly. One woman who worked there--short, wore glasses--was especially kind, though I didn't catch her name. The store is laid out nicely, and they had a lot of furniture available. If you're furniture shopping, this might actually be a good stop; the pieces looked decent and reasonably priced. They also appeared to use a color-tag discount system, though I'm not sure if it changes daily. About half the store was clothing, and the other half was bric-a-brac and furniture. I personally didn't find much this visit, but it could've just been an off day. I'd consider checking back in a couple of weeks to see if inventory changes. I did leave with one fun find: a vintage floating pool drink holder shaped like a rainbow, with space for ice and drinks--super cute and only $5. On the flip side, some prices felt off, like used wrapping paper priced at $3 when you can get a new roll at Dollar Tree for $1. Overall, it's worth checking out, especially for furniture, but don't go in expecting major thrifting treasures. Pretty cool that they are open on a Sunday, though. I will give them that. A medium size parking lot right in front. And a big grassy area if you have a dog that needs to go to the bathroom. Check it out? Definitely! Are there better thrift stores in Lakeland? Definitely!

I mean, how hard is it to find one in a modern city? Surprisingly hard. Well, we ended up at Men's Wearhouse which we normally associated with higher end clothing after buying our sons' suits there many years ago. (We just wanted a jacket, not an entire suit and didn't want to be pressured into a big sale.) From the moment we entered, we were treated with respect and all the workers there were great. We told them exactly what we wanted and that we needed off the rack, we didn't have time for alterations - they had a jacket that fit my husband perfectly, in the exact color. We also told them we needed dress shirts and ties, they immediately ran off, grabbed suggested colors and put together two looks that were perfect. They were not colors my husband ever would have chosen on his own, but he loved them immediately. Best of all, it all came in at our budget - without knowing it. Also, they still had my phone number in their registry from a decade ago, so we got a small discount on top of that. They packed it all up for us and it came home without a wrinkle. My husband wore his outfit quite a bit on our vacation and received quite a few compliments. We are very satisfied with Men's Wearhouse.

We rented from MW in the past, it was a tuxedo rental as well, I believe it was around January 2023. That rental was perfect, and we referred the Groom of this wedding to MW, due to the service and quality we received in 2023. He was looking at other places, and we kept pushing him to give it a try, which turned into regret. This referral has left us frustrated and embarrassed. When we went to get fitted, the service was okay, it was very busy and hot, but the person who fitted us was attentive and polite. We understand that it's "wedding season." We picked up the suit Thursday 10/23, and tried it on at home, we didn't try on the shoes, because they were the same shoe and size as before, and his feet had not grown, looking back, I wish we would have tried on the shoes. The suit fit good, so no adjustments were needed there. On the day of the wedding, it was like one thing after another. Let's start with the shoes, the side of the shoe where it meets the sole was broken, so a hard piece was sticking into my husbands heal. He could barely walk without limping and standing through the ceremony on a broken shoe was excruciating. He had to take the shoes off immediately, and had to wear sandals for the entrance celebration, so he didn't match the wedding party at all. Next, the pants. The adjustable waistband was absolute trash. It tightens up for a second and then the pants slide out of it, which causes the pants to be too big and fall down! My husband was able to hold onto his pants, thankfully. But the groom was not! He already has a limp when he walks due to health condition and the pants slid out of the metal clasp as he was WALKING DOWN THE ISLE!!!!! I'm sure he will be reaching out when he's back from his honeymoon. Lastly, we can address the quality. My husband's blue jacket had a few spots where the threads were coming up creating holes in the jacket giving it a frayed look. And his "hemmed" pants were done so poorly, the hems were coming undone on the bottom of the pants. Like I said, it was a complete disaster. When I returned the items on Sunday, 10/26, the store wasn't very busy. The salesman who took my items back was too worried about his next sale to speak with me about the service I received. He was speaking to a group of men about cologne. I asked him if there was a way to speak to someone or to leave a rating/review on the rental. He said " you can rate the person who fitted you, but not really on the rental it self." and then he walked off. I would have rather spoke to someone in person about the issues, versus this. I really hope you take this review seriously because the rentals we received from MW completely ruined someone's special day and that's sad. As a company that advertises " you're gunna like the way you look, I guarantee it." We were far from that.
