I was pretty impressed on my first visit, they really have a lot here. Even their shoes have some highly regarded brands like Jordan, Nike, Adidas, etc. I've found some pretty nice stuff I wear a lot and got for a ridiculously low price. Something that's also cool about Platos is you have the opportunity to donate your own clothes and they will pay you cash if they want anything. In the past at other locations this has worked fairly well for me, so I decided to try it again here after cleaning out my closet. My friend and I took almost a full bin of stuff there to try and sell. I was hoping we'd at least make maybe $30 with what we had, because we had some good brands that Platos is known for selling, like American Eagle, Loft, Victoria's Secret and more.. You check in to sell stuff all online and that went smoothly, but when we came back, they took 2 things. 2 things out of an entire bin, and gave us $7 for them. I was stunned. It seemed pretty ridiculous to me. I will probably never try to sell clothes here again because they probably won't take anything nor will I get a price that's even worth the few items they may want. Another issue is the workers. I read reviews of Platos prior to coming and so many of them complained about the workers. I tried coming in unbiased to see if maybe I'd have a different opinion, but unfortunately I did not. It's just a lot of young kids there to get a check, and they are pretty unprofessional and rude. It's all very unfortunate because the idea of Platos Closet- buying and selling cool brands second hand at really affordable prices- is such an awesome mission and I love it. But locations like this where the workers are disrespectful really bring down the name Platos has worked so hard to build. I'll probably still come back here once in a while and sift through stuff because the prices just can't be beat, but I am mightily disappointed at the overall experience every time here.

I honestly felt like it had been purposefully vandalized or something. I just stopped taking photos after a few minutes, it was so overwhelming. I hadn't been into a Kohls in a few years but I remember it being very nice and tidy. This was way worse than a TJ Maxx or Ross. It was like a Goodwill or something. You would think that first thing in the morning, at store opening for the day, it would be tidy. I just walked out without purchasing a single thing because it was chaos. It would not have been a pleasant shopping experience at all for me. Very disappointing.

It's one of the only department stores, besides Bealls, TJMaxx, BelkLindsey, Dillards, that's worth shopping at in Polk County or at least in the Winter Haven Lake Wales area. There's no variety of the old fashioned department store feel, stores that are classy, fun, unique, except driving to Posner Park, or worse Tampa/Orlando, but same cookie cutter types, or one called Ollies...good choice for bargains...The Eagle Ridge Mall needs an overhaul or to be condemned. But still this area needs more stores. Wal*Nutz, Target don't cut it... the culture and clientele that shop there eventually trash it and act ghetto ... it's despicable...crime centers especially Wal*Nutz...Bring back Penny's, Macys. Kohls is a great store, and remember, if you've never worked. Retail don't slam it as far as the esthetics in the store or how it looks on the beginning or at the end of the day, those workers work hard, it's some of the clientele that go into these stores and destroy it. The workers can only do so much and believe me. I come from a retail/merchandise background to know the more you do, the more they expect, the more they expect, the less they appreciate. There's always a "karen" in the bunch, that's going to scream her head off and get her free or a discount, when she doesn't deserve it. Another thing too , people complaining about clothes on the floor what's it gonna kill you to bend down and pick it up and just put it on the shelf , even if you don't fold it? After reviewing some of these photos and comments on here, I'm disappointed. It seems like you have maid service at your house! Retail service workers are always mistreated and yeah , I know they got a hard job and they don't get the pay for it just like any other service job. So just be kind and look around and see , maybe what you could do to maybe put something on the shelf , it's on the floor it's not going to kill you pick it up or put it back on the hanger! Or better yet , to put it back in the place , you found it! What a concept. Keep up the good work Kohls.

Grateful to have found Belk. Definite areas of improvement are the ladies intimate apparel area is a complete mess with limited options. If you are donating you should consider giving to actual charities instead of "for profit" enterprises unless you have no other choice. If you do give know less than an 8th of the total profits goes to those in need. Donating is easy here just pull up, unload and go. If you need to get rid of items in a hurry or can't deal with finding just the right place for your items this place may work for you. All that said, sometimes you need to buy inexpensive or items on the fly and you check out Goodwill. We had pretty good luck shopping here at the Lakeland location for a few items. There is a main big room and a secondary smaller room and both share walls with an employee only section. The furniture is in the back room with some household stuff while the front room has clothing for all, accessories , linens, appliances, dishes, small appliances, toys, glasses, etc. They sell some new items that are close outs or extras from companies and donations from individuals. The employee only area is the heart of the operation. The donations come in a door in the drop off area on the outside right side. The stuff is loaded into bins and carried in to be sorted, priced, and later put out. You can't buy things that are newly donated till they are processed. It seems strange to not sell newly donated stuff to willing buyers but they have their protocols. The mark up here is pretty high. Some furniture was too highly priced for condition. There was a ton of linens that could have been gotten for similar prices at discount stores on sale. The selection varies as well as some things are in good condition while some are stained, broken and/or ripped. Employees are nice and friendly for the most part. We dealt with several and most were helpful. You can't blame them that they work hard and the company takes all the money. I digress. If you need things at an inexpensive price come check it out but know what the items you need are worth prior to arriving. This way you know you got a deal and avoided getting taken. Additionally, you'll know whether you need to shop at another store instead

(I'm mainly also speaking to females here, but if you are a male with that fashion sense then I mean hey go for it haha) I really had no idea what I was walking into the first time I went to Versona. All I knew was that I was in desperate need of some cute dress pants and just a whole outfit for a presentation that was in a few days, so I needed to find something that day. I searched the handy old internet to find some stores nearby that might have what I was looking for at more reasonable prices, and that's when Versona crossed the radar. This is an awesome store! I am far from being a fashionista or really having any trustworthy sense of fashion, but this store has some CUTE items! From tanks to long sleeves to jackets to pants, they have a great selection of different types of clothes that can all be dressed up or are just the professional look you need (or I needed at least). Because, let's be honest- especially for women, previous decades of business appropriate clothes can be UGLY. Like, so awkward fitting, looking, and just really not making you feel confident or good about yourself in any way. But Versona has that touch of modern trends in their styles where you will like how the clothes fit and look. Trust me, it's a big deal! And the best part: the prices are so in reach! Broke college kid speaking here too (rip)- I didn't feel like I was giving away part of my soul just to have some more dress clothes. Most of their pants are around $30-40! They also have at least 3 displays of jewelry, scarves, shoes, sunglasses and so, so much. Oh yeah, you can try on your picks in their dressing rooms that are open again. Hallelujah! Go check them out!

Take a look at the attached pic - all of those red signs? Sale items! Given the size of this light and airy store (a/k/a HUGE), the amount of floor space dedicated to sale product is...most excellent. Particularly for those of us savvy shoppers who will WAIT, if necessary, until a piece goes on sale - if it stays (slays) in stock. Also, if you have the pennies to spend, I can pretty much guarantee you will find a dress, blouse, accessory, what-have-you, that NO ONE ELSE is rocking (yet). I regularly visit the Winter Park store and now I'll show the Lakeland location as much love as my wallet can stand. J'adore!
