Honestly, I have always thought Beall's was a discount store chain akin to Marshall's, K-Mart, etc., but those are just their outlets. This is more akin to a Macy's or a Dillard's (as is the pricing). The store has a nice selection and is well laid out. The service was friendly and overall, it was a pleasant enough experience. I'm updating this review because of excellent customer service. I bought a cute life is good baseball cap here and the quality wasn't what it usually is. I love that Brad don't get me wrong but the hat got wet once all the die read it was a mess. Anyway I came back to the store and they exchanged it for me without a receipt.. Bell's policy is to require a receipt for an exchange. That policy makes sense. However, Many stores can exchange without a receipt because they can find your information by scanning your credit card. Beall's Can only do that if you use the bills credit card. I did not use the bills credit card. When the store manager saw that I was disappointed about being unable to exchange the She exchanged it anyway. I got to say I was impressed. Life is good is a fantastic friend unlike what the company stands for and they usually have superior quality but this movie it was really about Beall's. Bills customer service was a fantastic surprise today and I'm thankful. read more

I don't care for Beall's Department store despite their big sales. Even with their clearance I didn't feel like it was a good bargain. I bought a birthday gift here and it was a hassle to get service for gift wrap and to pay for it and the place was not crowded. When I finally got service, I asked myself if it was worth shopping here. The salespeople here reminded me of Eeyore the sad and depressed donkey on Winnie the Pooh. The advantages of coming to this store was the free gift wrapping and the open space ambiance. The downside was the slow and dreary service, the depressing vibe I got in the store, and the not so exceptional prices. read more

Went into the store today. No one greeted us they all ran away and didn't want to appear to be available in case we had questions. Finally we asked one team member for a particular brand and she wasn't happy to help. Got to the register and the cashier was a woman of color like me and you can just tell by her demeanor she was afraid she didn't seem confident working there. Moving on, three off my items didn't ring up correctly which can be embarrassing because I already knew no one wanted to help. So the young lady called for a price check. A manager yelled what do you need it for asked for the brand while in the other side, away from us and she had a bad attitude. She wasn't happy to check, came over snatched the pants and it turns out we were right about the price so she abruptly walks over either the pants scrunched up in her hands and leans across me almost touching me and throws my pants on the counter and bumps into me as she storms off. This was so aggressive. Shes white, with short blond hair and glasses. So I spoke up and said excuse me! She then decided she should say excuse me too as she walks away, not looking at me. This was horrible behavior from a company regarding customer service as well as a poor display of leadership. They do not like people of color here. My invoice was almost $200, however, I decided I would spend money some where else, where I'm treated with more respect and provided better service. So I said no thank you and left. read more

Beall's..LATE CHARGES OF OVER A HUNDRED DOLLARS WITH NO NOTIFICATION BY THEM TO ME.....because of a miscommunication within my bank..wells fargo/auto pay I have been making, unknown to me, a 28 dollar late payment for 4 or five months BECAUSE AUTO PAY SHORTED THE PAYMENT BY ONE DOLLAR EVERY MONTH!!!!!!!...when my balance was less than 125.00 back 6 months ago or more...because there was a computer error that reduced my monthly payment by one dollar....only because i'm moving and decided to pay off this paltry balance did I discover this..DISCOVERED THAT I HAVE JUST BEEN PAYING LATE CHARGE AFTER LATE CHARGE FOR MONTH AFTER MONTH...Beall's via their bank has been ripping me off for 28 dollars a month without advising me that this was occurring...i am so damn mad at this company i could spit nails..upon discovery last week we called and asked for the closing balance...they told me, I paid it..lo and behold there is another charge today of 31.00 dollars?..for what, another late charge and I have no balance.? you know when we talked to their bank they basically told us to go pound sand...they did...they took 15.00 whole dollars off the hundred or more they have been ripping me off for thru no fault of mine...THIS COMPANY has been ripping me off and kept doing it and keeps doing it and I am a individual who pays his bills ...I'm a homeowner in W section of Palm Coast..live on the golf course...have excellent credit and am buying my 4th house in 5 years...these people running this company and bank ... if they are doing this to me they are doing it to others..i'm going to personally called the SEC and file a formal complaint against BEALLS.. et. al..i'm not messing around...these people are simply put stealing my money...that is a huge mistake. read more

While visiting my parents in palm coast they wanted to buy me a gift for house chores I did. We went to Beals and I found some shoes they were excited to buy for me. The price was good and they were on sale. When we checked out , however, the cashier said we would get an additional discount if they got a beals credit card. Mom already has one but it was not for loyal existing customers- only new ones. The pushy cashier told my father he "should" get one to get this discount. She was relentless about the card. We just wanted to check out! The line behind us was piling up and she wouldn't stop telling my dad to get a card so he was brow beaten into it. Then they asked for his social security number- I told him he did not have to go through with it and that we should just leave. He really wanted me to have the shoes so he gave the info and finally we were able to check out only to find out that he doesn't even get to use the discount she kept on using as incentive! He would get that later she finally admitted. Then she started in on me to get a card!!- I told her "no thank you" politely twice and then, When she asked TWO more times I said no and then the fourth time I had to say "NO" emphatically so she knew I was not about to be forced the way my 87 year old dad was. Awful experience! My dad was concerned all the way home about all the info they made him give. If they ever want to buy me a gift again I will NEVER go to Beals again. read more

I would love to give this store more stars, I really would. There's plenty of clearance racks to riffle through and I'm a fan of that. They also email printable coupons and when paired up with already discounted items it makes me really happy. But...I cannot find what I need for my 8 year old son (let's face it - most moms buy things mainly for their kids and not for themselves) All I wanted was a pair of nice shoes for him...could have been dress shoes...or even loafers. Just something other than sneakers to wear with his khakis to church. Well, apparently they completely SKIP his shoe size. The sizes stop at something like size 3 youth. He's a 5 youth. And the next size up is men's sizes. Even their online store doesn't carry his size AT ALL. Major disappointment. Also, most of the time I shop there I rarely get asked if I need help (when I clearly have a puzzled look on my face when I'm searching for an item, if I look dazed and confused, then I need help finding something!) read more
