Friendly and supportive staff, no project is too small or too big. I brought a string of pearl with me and the ladies there patiently help me pick out the size and color of the silk string, let me use the table and tools ($3 table fee per project) and offer helpful tips throughout my pearl knotting experience. End result? Finished this beautiful piece and paid $10 within 90min. Will be back for MORE!! read more

I love this place. The beings that tend to this space are amazing. The variety of options are beyond what you'll need and they have some good deals. Check it out! read more

Definitely ask for a quote before you have them make any jewelry. Their prices can be vague and remember that each little thing costs money, which can add up. And that's before adding in the cost for their time to put it together. Mainly I'm giving this place 3 stars because they weren't very kind and didn't communicate well with my sister who I sent there while visiting LA today. She was excited to get some necklaces made (I had made one there for her in the past). She was wearing it and explained that it was a gift and came from their shop. The lady at the counter just looked at her blankly and half smiled. But whatever, people are absorbed in themselves sometimes... So she had 2 necklaces made and during the process no one communicated the costs of things. At the end she was surprised by the cost and the lady started going through the itemized list and as she was doing so she started realizing that she had left some things, many things actually, off the list. So she started adding more to the total! Instead of saying, oh actually I'm charging you less than I should have, she just added more on to the total that already seemed too high. Good customer service would have been to give her some sort of discount since that mistake would have never been found had she not asked to see the prices of things. I was disappointed to hear this since I had recommended them. I probably won't be doing that to any of my visitors in the future. In the past the customer service was really great but it sounds like they have a few people in there now that aren't great communicators. read more

Went in with my special beaded necklace that I popped, prepared to restring myself and Jen and Shannon took care of me so well like it was mending the hope diamond. They fixed it soooo fast and made it even better than it was. Plus, I was sooo surprised at how little they charged me. What a Gem. Thank you ladies so so much. read more

Real deal. Worth the trip! KC and Ben were great help and inspirational in both humanistic and design senses. I enjoyed the treasures, the prices, and the environment. Outstanding human and natural resources. Thank you! I'm glad you were found. read more

In addition to an amazing assortment of beads, thread, wire and "hardware", the staff are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I wanted to repair necklaces and a bracelet and the staff member was very thoughtful, listened to what I needed, carefully examined the jewelry and made several suggestions and implemented them. I left with repaired jewelry that I can wear again and a smile on my face. read more

I went in yesterday afternoon just to purchase some of the hand dipped incense, and I was patiently waiting as two customers were being helped by two employees. I was waiting for a while, and I received no acknowledgement as I waited. I gave them a few more minutes to finish with the other customers, and I ended up just putting the incense down at the table by the register because the wait was ridiculous and both employees didn't bother to say they'll be just a minute or anything. They didn't even look at me. So, in short, I'll never return to this place again. I'll stick to ordering from Amazon. To the store manager, I highly suggest you talk to your employees about better customer service. read more

Beadahs - I was so excited to buy some of these incense, but the lack of customer service made me walk out empty handed. - Arts & Crafts Near Me - Santa Monica, California

Yeah!! Beadahs has reopened in a fantastic new location! Beadahs is wonderful to experience whether you are a new customer or have been awaiting their reopening. This perfect new location has been so worth the wait! I go there often to browse the fantastic selection of beads from all over the world, plus jewelry making equipment, interesting pieces of jewelry they design themselves and unique gifts for all occasions. Shannon, Ermie and Rosalie are super nice, talented and will help you design your own pieces, offer lessons and sponsor jewelry making parties for all ages. They also offer specialty work for professional jewelry artists. The new location is convenient to all Los Angeles, close to freeways and the beach. The shop is cozy and inviting, bursting with wonderful finds at great prices. I highly recommend you head over there for a relaxing afternoon of browsing, shopping, beading and fun. I'm so happy to find you in your amazing new shop!!!! read more

What a great place! The shop is tucked away behind Tender Greens and Burger Lounge, but still fairly easy to find. The shop itself is large with a couple long tables to make your creations. Keep in mind there is a $3 fee tacked on for sitting at these tables. The walls are lined strands of beads and there are several tables filled with bead boxes. all of the bead cubbies are marked with a price and a code, which you will have to write down and keep track of. They have a huge selection of beads which makes it really fun.The staff was helpful and answered all my questions. Definitely coming back with friends! read more

Stumbled upon this somewhat hidden bead store after a lunch at Tender Greens over the weekend. The store is right behind the restaurant in a little courtyard with a few other shops and what I think is a yoga studio. It's very large and has tables and tables of beads, but for some reason I didn't find a lot that I fell in love with. The prices are higher than Moxie Beads for the same items and fixings, although they do have a better and larger selection of chains, silk wraps, and cords. A lot of the beads here are on the more ethnic and whimsical side, with less of the higher quality druzy, chalcedony, or more delicate options. Definitely worth checking out however, will be back for some specific fixings that Moxie does not carry. read more

This hidden gem (pun intended) is in the heart of Santa Monica. Its away from the intense touristy traffic but easily accessible near the 3rd St Promenade. Ermie was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I had a large rush order I needed placed and had so many limitations due to a budget. She was efficient and truly exceeded my expectations when it came to customer service. There are not many bead shops on the west side (even went downtown) and nothing came close to Beadahs service, prices and selection. It was very refreshing having a "mom and pop shop" feel with a mom and pop attitude. Thank you! Please doing business with you guys! read more

This is a wonderfully run bead shop with some of the nicest people working there. If you are like me, you often end up with jewelry pieces with broken clasps, too long chains, or a missing bead. I have utilized their talents twice now to repair and alter my existing jewelry, each time they have been creative, quick, and reasonably priced, no matter if it was a sentimental piece of fashion bling or sterling silver. read more

I like beadahs a lot. The staff is friendly and helpful. The owners are nice. The selection is good and the location offers a lot of parking. I haven't taken classes there yet, but I intend to! Only down side is the prices. They are a bit overpriced, but as someone who works in Santa Monica, I'm sure their rent is too...Worth paying a little extra to support local, have a a great selection and deal with nice helpful people. read more

What a treasure, I was visiting from out of town. Looked up Beadahs on yelp. This bead store is nicely merchandised and has lots of selection to choose from and nice staff. I like the zen feeling in the store. I like that I can find items to make into a jewelry. While I was there, they helped me finish a necklace for $3, plus cost of bead supplies! Now I have a cool souvenir that I made. They offer a lot of classes that are interesting. I'm definitely going back to visit again when I'm in the area. read more

I look all over LA for a mala re-beader. Ben is great. Super knowledgeable and so nice. I had my mala restrung and it came out really nice. It's a bit tight to start with but I'm expecting it to loosen over time. The owner is also so lovely. This will be my go to bead store. read more

I love this place. You can make your own necklace, bracelet, etc. Handmade gifts for everyone. Have a party for the kids or girlfriends. Nice place to bond with my daughters. Thanks Beadahs! read more

I love Beadahs. I visit Santa Monica for a month each year and always stop in. This year I took a wire wrapping class, learned a lot, and felt encouraged and supported. Ben and Shannon showed me projects they were working on, they both were beautiful. Ben was working on a delicate wire wrapping project, and Shannon finished a kaleidocycle. I wish they were in my back yard, but I guess I'll just have to wait until next year. read more

This is a cute store with a lot to choose from, its layout is well set up and very organized. We spent an hour there and could have easily stayed longer. Not sure how their prices compare with other shops since we don't shop for beads often; spent about $25 and will get 3 pairs of earrings. read more

Beautiful shop!!! Many great beads. I could have stayed for hours.

Oh dear, I really didn't want to make jewelry...I came to this shop first in January, bringing a visiting relative..who practically bought a suitcase of beads. (I ought a beading magazine). Then I brought another out of town visitor in March...and bought a few orca looking beads.....while my friend bought a large shopping bag of gems.....and today this friend , visiting from Denver, wanted to come back...and we both bought bunches and bunches of gorgeous beads....love this place...and love the beading!!! read more

I LOVE this store. It has something for everyone who loves jewelry and making jewelry, from beginners to experts. The staff is super knowledgeable, friendly, patient, helpful and kind. I LOVE this spot. Everyone there is helpful, creative, patient, full of great recommendations, and kind. I've left numerous pieces that they have fixed for me at a very very reasonable price, like changing out the chain of a necklace, to redoing some of the intricate beadwork on a native american piece. I don't know much about this so I asked for help and they set me up with the wrong size string for the beads and both employees told me they would fit. It was a bummer getting home and not being able to make my project. Also the beads seem so expensive. I asked how it could be $2 for a plastic little bead and they said they are antique. Sounds like a joke to me. Bead life... read more

Very special jewelry store. The creative vibe, wonderful selection of jewelry making items, beautiful handmade jewelry for sale and the personalized attention of the staff make this store the best place in LA to make jewelry. First off the employees are so amazing and helpful. The owner on other hand needs help. She was so rude to the group I was with, we were treated horribly by the OWNER and repeated asked by the OWNER " why did you come?" But let me say again that the employees are so nice and do a great job helping out with picking and making jewelry. read more

great place good selection super nice people

I have been at Beadahs several times (perhaps 5 or 6 times) and each time I swear to myself I will never go there again. Because I live on the west side there have been times I've been in a pinch for a certain item -- tool, crimp bead, etc. -- and because of the proximity I have had to go there. Why do I give this a 1 star rating. OK here's why. They overprice their items way over the prices for the same items at other bead stores (like Silver Sky in the Valley for example or Kings Road near the Beverly Center). For example the Sof-flex beading wire medium weight that is usually about $14 - $15, I was charged $19 for. Another reason is it seems like the people who work there are primarily high school students who do not know neither how to deal with customers nor much about the place they are working. Furthermore each time I went there I was made to feel like I was a criminal of some sort they way that they followed me around hovering in a very overt way. My advice is to bite the bullet and go elsewhere even if it is not convenient. read more

YES,YES,YES. They do everything right at this family run business. From the gorgeous space they have created to explore their amazing selection of beads and trinkets, to the cool picnic style tables to work at. Everyone who works here is patient and generous with their time, which is not all that common these days.I have met cool customers who like to do their projects here because the lightening is great the vibe is inspiring and there is something that feels so good about escaping into this awesome bead shop, that is so much more... read more

What a magical place! Having created a big mess in my work - Shannon saved the day! What a gem - knowledgable and kind. I can't wait for Sunday Beading Class. The private classes in progress looked fun and the bead and material selection are great! read more

I came here with my mom since she wanted us to have a beading lesson for her birthday and I left with a pretty beautiful handmade necklace by yours truly (yes, pretty lovely if I do say so myself!). We had a great time and I'm really glad we decided to go with a private lesson since I had never done anything like this before and we both really needed the extra attention. The store itself is lovely and just the kind of place you want to spend a few hours sitting and designing jewelry. Their beads are also gorgeous and clearly high quality. The prices for the classes are really reasonable and you can even sit there and do a project of your own without a class for a small fee and the staff will give you expert tips. Do make a reservation for your class ahead of time, though-- especially on the weekends since it does get busy at times. Convenient parking at a parking structure next door, too. read more

I went in here today to create a dozen plus necklaces. I was excited to have creative session that would end with a bunch of presents to give my friends and employees. It was something fun i was looking forward to for a couple of weeks, not a chore. But things changed quickly while there. As i was collecting beads i might use for the necklaces, the woman working there told me i needed to create a written record of every single bead i intended to try. I let her know i might try over a hundred but only end up using a couple dozen or so that work best. Writing down every single bead i wanted to try would be completely tedious and rob the experience of the creative spontaneity i was looking forward to experiencing in the first place! I might as well be at work! She remained insistent that things MUST be done that way so i decided it wasn't worth the trouble, collected my pendants and said goodbye. Its worth noting there were zero other customers in the store the whole time i was there so its hard to believe they have a lot of better things to do or can afford to drive potential customers away. I was prepared to drop a couple of hundred bucks to create a collection of beautiful necklaces and have a positive, creative experience doing so. But my beading project and I were obviously unwelcome there. What a disappointment. Based on my negative experience, I'd recommend taking your business and your creative energies elsewhere!!! read more
