Like most Vintage shops there isn't much the bigger woman but the clothing accessories are such a treat to look at and enjoy. The shop is small, but makes the most of its space with displays and wall hangings of fashionable athletic wear. There is a small office with a cutout window that the shop owner, Shelly, can welcome customers. After just a few minutes of shopping, it was clear that Shelly has a real passion and knowledge of her products and the customers she hopes to serve. My wife kept finding items she liked and Shelly was able to tell her whether the brand ran large or small, was able to show other pieces that would coordinate with the piece, and some other products/accessories that might be useful. One of the cool options is that she has a customer list that you can sign up for online to periodically receive gift boxes selected for you based upon the profile you provide. You have the option to select frequency, dollar limits, piece limits, etc. You keep what you like and pay only for those and send the undesired pieces back. You can stop by anytime to meet with Shelly to fine tune your choices. Some folks even do this as a gift option for friends/relatives. So when I stopped in after seeing a friend's photos of the shop, I first noticed that the staff was personable and inviting. I really like when a place that is offering things for your own home makes you feel welcome in their business. It sets a tone. As I browsed through the different rooms in the shop, each was a little different. There are some standard items like candles, knick knacks, some women's jewelry and accessories, and even a few toys. But what I sensed was there were two themes that seemed most apparent. First, the store is loaded with holiday items. I came here just a few days before Christmas and the place was loaded with unique items that were affordable (though not cheap.) There were ornaments (marked down by 40%), table items, and things you'll just have to come in and check out for yourself. I also noticed a second theme that was promoting downtown Indy. They had pillows with the names of neighborhoods on them. Those would be great as house/apartment warming gifts. Even the candles mentioned earlier had neighborhood names on them, though I am not certain who determined which scent represented them. (Note that all the fragrances were pleasant, not some actual scent you might smell outside!) And the staff were friendly and welcoming. That goes a long way. A pair of local Brownsburg owners who have spent a number of years getting to know the folks in the area have opened this mini store just south of Main St (US 136). There's a large gravel parking lot surrounded by mature trees; makes it feel like you're in a wooded area. Inside, the shop is filled with colorful women's clothing and accessories like bracelets and soaps. There are positive/upbeat sayings throughout the store to encourage customers to have a good experience. The clothing is probably geared towards working women who want something nice to wear either to work or during their precious down time. Due to the limited size of the shop, the clothing that comes in is limited in quantity, so getting to know the owners and when new shipments come in might be to your advantage to be able to pick up something in your size. Okay, I am relying upon my wife's opinion on much of this review, so I'm supposed to mention that the individual brands that are carried vary widely on how true to size they run. Fortunately, the owners are familiar with each brand well enough to know the differences and can help you find a size that works best for you. My wife ended up buying three tops while there, so I think she really liked it. Prices seemed pretty reasonable on most of the items too! Lux & Ivy is that store for those of us who love unique clothing and want other people to do the heavy lifting. I saw so many items that I loved (including some gold sandals), but I left with a long black skirt that had cork buttons running down it. See what I mean about unique?! It fit perfectly, and even better: It was 20% off! Even without the discount, the skirt (and the other thrifted clothing on the racks) were priced reasonably. They have Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Company, Nordstrom and they have a very nice Nike store. It's a very small mall, but it is worth a while and you get the things you need. I really like the customer service as well and plus they have a nice landmark movie theater inside and a lot of restaurants. Just FYI, the Saks Fifth Avenue store is closed but they have enough stores there if you want some nice designer stuff . They also have the cheesecake factory there, and other good eateries that you can choose from in a very nice food court as well.
