Multiple issues at this property during our stay 9/14-9/16/2024. Parking is $33 a night. there is a six spot lot in the alley behind the property. Our first night there were no issues parking. The 2nd day (9/15) we left the property early in the day and went to a concert that evening at Fenway. I received a call during the day asking when we would be returning. I couldn't give an answer because I didn't know. Then during the concert I received a text advising me to park a block away from the property due to ongoing construction. this should not have had anything to do with the spots behind the property. The signs for no parking on the street in front of the building stated 9/17 and 9/18, had nothing to do with the dates that we were there. i requested a refund for having to park on the street a block away from the building. They will not give a refund. I responded to the text asking for a refund, they did not answer. I sent an email, received a call and explained again what happened. She had to call me back. The call back was that there would be no refund and stated that the agreement was that if I got a ticket for parking on the street they would cover it. I asked for the owner to call me. I then sent 2 more emails. One that shows an screenshot of the website to reserve parking after making a reservation if needed and another with a picture of the agreement that I signed reserving parking. These people are a thieves. Take your money to reserve parking but then don't guarantee you a spot. Additionally, a fire alarm was going off on the morning of 9/15. There was no direction from anyone as to where to go and what to do. The bathroom is not clean. The shower has soap scum and the bathroom floor was dirty. The shower liner was also yellowed with soap scum. There weren't enough towels for our stay. There is a table on our floor that stated to take towels from there if need but there were no towels. No one was available in the early morning hours to get towels from. The front door to the inn did not close all the way and was easily accessible to anyone after hours. The refrigerator in the room did not work properly and froze our drinks and food. There was dust and a dirty washcloth under the bed. I do NOT recommend this property at all. Horrible customer service.

    SHEET

Agree with all those who gave one star, The most disappointing thing was the bedding. The sheets didn't look fresh, didn't smell fresh, and didn't feel fresh. I definitely had a feeling the bed was made but sheets were not changed after the previous guest. Sheets were stained, if these are stains which didn't come out in the laundry, for God's sake, get rid of the sheets. have pictures of stains and hair on the sheet. The mattress cover under the sheet is SO stained! The comforter as well was pretty gross. Couldn't sleep on that bed and no house keeping to call for fresh sheets. Breakfast very minimal, the stairs to the 4th floor unsafe

Great location , clean rooms, comfortable. This is in an old brownstone so it no not modern but it is quaint. There are no frills or extras here. However we had a very nice stay. The only drawback is that the staff is very noisy in the morning so sleeping in is not an option unless your on the top floor. We thought the prices were reasonable. We did not like the $30 parking charge nightly so we found alternative parking arrange

I'd recommend it to anyone who needs somewhere to stay in Boston whilst on business or visiting a friend. Highly praised in Time Out's guide to Boston, this Fenway brownstone house did not disappoint at all. The interior is lovingly kept in original 19 century decor and Florence has an amazing collection of dolls as well as a whole room for her shoes and hats. At 80 dollars a night it was a bargain for a truly special room that could well have been in a museum. The bathroom was hip with a great toilet, and it was conveniently close to several T stops. The real gem though was Ms Frances, who was truly charming and had quite amazing stories. She has flags for every guest to show their nationality, and of the 50 or so flags she owns she's been to pretty much every country - including Iran. An introduction to her hat collection is quite a treat too. What a life she has led! She even had a free guest pass for me for the Museum of Fine Arts.

Check-in/out was one of the most seamless experiences I've had with hotels/airbnbs. I didn't have to check in with anyone, and I received the door code a few days before. They have a lovely dining room for guests with homemade cookies, fruit, coffee and tea. Unfortunately I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but I'm sure it's great too. CCB is really the perfect mix of a hotel and bed/breakfast. I was unsure about doing the solo room with a shared bathroom, but other than having to wait for the other guest to finish his shower so I could take an urgent bio break, it was no issue at all and I would hands down do it again. I'm pretty sure the other floors have a bathroom if you absolutely need it though. For the location, price, comfort, and amenities, College Club of Boston is a no brainer. I got the please to quickly meet the GM on my way out, and she is super sweet. I even left my airpods in the room, and without hesitation they are shipping them back to me. 5 starts forsure.

Despite having alllll the things to do in Boston, I was excited to get back to that room and that bed, and I slept like a log. I like a good bed when I'm traveling and I would never stay at another place if I had the option. My favorite aspect was having a separate bedroom and living area (with pull out couch). I was waiting at the door, and when another guest arrived, I was able to enter the property, but the reservationist still had not arrived. After waiting for 30 minutes, I called him, and when he finally came, he spoke to me in a very rude tone and said that this delay was "normal." After sleeping in my room for about two hours, I realized that the room was extremely cold. My entire body was shaking because of the low temperature. I contacted the reception to ask for assistance, but instead of helping me, the staff spoke to me disrespectfully, insulted me, and made fun of my situation. I was polite throughout the conversation, but the receptionist responded with a rude attitude and laughed at my concerns. Because the situation became unacceptable, I called the police for assistance. After the police arrived, the hostel staff forced me to leave the property and refused to refund my money. They also behaved aggressively toward me and attempted to intimidate me. I have videos documenting the entire incident. I also contacted Booking.com regarding this issue, but they have not provided any effective solution so far. I strongly do not recommend this hostel. The property is not a safe or comfortable place to stay. The cleanliness was poor, the treatment of guests was disrespectful, and the management failed to handle a simple customer complaint professionally. Some other reviews mention that guests were not respectful toward the staff. However, when a room is so cold that a guest is physically shaking, is it reasonable to consider that temperature comfortable? Not everyone has the same tolerance for cold, and guests should not have to pay for a room without proper heating or a suitable solution. I was treated unfairly despite trying to communicate politely. The hostel told me that I had to pay a cancellation fee, they were the ones who removed me from the property. Until this time I didn't receive any money due to the problem that happen for me. The hotel on 14 didn't answer my phone and booking and it is not profesional. This place is not suitable for anyone looking for a safe, clean, and comfortable place to rest. All videos and evidence of this incident are available.

This was in spite of a phone call informing us of the issue and an inquiry to confirm that we would arrive before 9:00 P.M. when the front desk closes for the night until 8:00 A.M. the next morning. The location was perfect for the early morning medical appointment which occasioned our stay. If you are a light sleeper and in Beacon Street facing rooms, the trolley passing from 6:00 A.M until Midnight might be a problem. However, this is a city location. Normal traffic noises are not an issue. Booking.com failed to inform us that our reservation was for Room #7 which has a private bathroom across the hall, not in the room. In fairness to the Beacon Inn, this is properly noted on the Beacon Inn website. The room was spotless neat and clean with extra blankets. Heating and ventilation was fine. The bathroom was equally clean and properly equipped. Bring your own hair dryer. Perhaps, we should concluded on our own that our room would be up three flights of stairs with rooms another flight above, no elevator, not easy for access for anyone with mobility issues. The price of $116 plus an additional $36 for parking was extremely reasonable for the location in Greater Boston. Parking was convenient and close with excellent, in person direction on how to access. Breakfast starts some time after 8:00 A.M. We left at 7:15 for an early medical appointment. Reading previous reviews, it is clear that significant efforts with notable success have been made to correct deficiencies.

By the end of my stay, all I could think about was how nice it would be to live in an apartment like that with neighbors like that on the street like that. Just incredibly charming, peaceful, and yet with all the comfort amenities, like great TV, air conditioning, kitchen, parking, just everything.... I really couldn't recommend enough, especially if you are a working professional in Boston for an extended stay, or a family needing to be in the area for the local hospitals, which are again only about a 20min *walk* away. I think one thing that says it all is that a few nights into my stay, I found a deck of cards in the drawer next to the bed. I opened it up to play a game, and then saw that people for the past decade or so had been writing their names, and the place they traveled from on the cards. I thought this was a beautiful gesture, that the Inn owners actually had no idea about, but that I hope continues in the years to come. We always chose the HGI in Brookline as it was always clean, comfortable, welcoming, and conveniently located in close proximity to area hospitals. Bonus points for the awesome on-site restaurant, Punch Bowl. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend the hotel. Furthermore, I advise people to use extreme caution when checking in to the hotel. Sadly, the culture there has changed for the worst. I was absolutely astonished by the behavior of the general manager, and their staff. We were in town as I was receiving infusions at Brigham. We decided to use our rewards points for a total of FIVE nights. Booking and redemption of my reward nights were not an issue. The issues started brewing the second night into my stay. As a diamond member, you are eligible for $10 food/beverage credit, per day/per guest. We frequently dine at the on-site restaurant, Punch Bowl. This is where the problems really kicked off. I approached the desk on the second day of my reservation. I had to fight and argue to get the food/beverage credit added to the folio. This is a reoccurring issue that repeated itself every day of my stay. In addition to having to fight for my F&B credits, I also had to deal with them constantly charging my credit card the incorrect amount. We even had other people's meal charges billed to my folio and credit card. It became such a problem that my card company shut off the card and are fully prepared to fight the property for a full refund of all charges. I spent over four hours over multiple days working with multiple front desk staff and front-desk managers. This was all visible on their surveillance system that is directly above the desk. On the night before checkout, I went down to try to resolve the folio and the charges on my credit card. After two hours, the night shift manager and the desk attendant both profusely apologized for the errors on both the folio and my account. They advised they were UNABLE to articulate the folio and the amount charged to my card. I was completely floored and astounded. I have spent over 400+ days with Hilton over the past year and a half. I have always had an easy to read, easy to articulate folio. Furthermore, the manager advises me their on-site restaurant is unable to process the receipts, so they're input manually when you charge the tab to your room. They admitted that they had charged someone else's charges to my folio and credit card. I was infuriated. After two hours of time wasted, they both agreed that the amount I referenced was correct. The night attendant and manager both advised that the folio would settle after they did their night audit and that both the folio and credit card would be rectified in the morning. This morning, I wake up to an emailed folio. As expected, the issues were still rife. Fed up, I headed down to the desk to lay down the law. I met with one of the managers that I had dealt with a few days prior. He basically blew me off and ignored everything that was discussed the evening before. He continually told me to "have a nice day" and told me it was resolved. It was not. I asked for the controller or general manager. With a straight face, he tells me they do not have a controller. Every hotel has a controller to handle the financial transactions of the property. After a half hour and missing breakfast, I had enough. I spoke above normal conversational level and advised others in the lobby to check their folio. This immediately produced a magical response. The rep at the desk finally admits they have a General Manager. He calls the GM. Not two minutes later the GM comes flying off the elevator. It was a gentlemen in his early 50s-60s. Immediately, I could literally feel the anger and disgust towards me. I knew it wasn't going to go well. I was right on that. I attempt to explain how I had spent hours the night prior and that I had a handwritten post-it from his manager with the proper amount to be charged. I told him that I'd bet it was the same color post-it as he had behind the desk. He smirks at me and his staff and calls me "crazy". Additionally, I pointed to the camera directly above us. I told him to go and check the camera from last night and that he'd see us standing there for two hours trying to resolve the folio. Again, he smirks and calls me crazy. He asks me when my reservation ended. I advised that it would be at 12PM. He replies: "Great, pack your stuff and get out of my hotel." I was absolutely stunned by his behavior. I explained that I needed proper folios that are clear and concise. He continued to tell me to "get out of his hotel" and "deal with my bank". I told him I can't work with my bank without a proper folio. He continued to get in my face and continued to escalate the situation. It hit the breaking point when he asked me to "step back into his office".
