BLT

Really skimpy when it comes to the food they serve. My daughter ordered a BLT and this is what she was served. A little shocked but after the waitress rolled her eyes at me for the second time it was expected. Really unfortunate considering the views are some of the best around

Great location, over priced food with a limited menu, inside decor lacks substance to call it remodeled. The service is good.

I enjoyed a beer while we waited which was not very long. We also left with a beer to use for our liquid to cook it in and cornbread muffins. The direction card made this so easy to cook. It took less than 30 minutes. The food was delicious and we devoured it all. Cape Fear Boil Company is a must visit in OKI.

Visiting Oak Island for a little beach time? THIS is one of your meals for the week. Don't…read moreoverthink it. Just schedule a low country boil with these fine folks over at Cape Fear Boil Company and you can cross a simple meal with minimal mess off your list. If you're like us, maybe you have a very large crowd to feed, and the restaurants on the island and in Southport simply don't have room to accomodate you. Maybe you don't want to bother preparing a meal to feed this many people, and then have to deal with all the cleanup after when you could be spending more time with your friends and family on the beach or by the pool. In those cases, you can have them cater the boil for you, including setup, cooking, and clean up for a flat fee plus gratuity. This is what we had them do for us, to feed a group of 20 people for a birthday celebration. We ordered the standard boil, plus 6 pounds of mussels, 4 quarts cole slaw, 4 quarts mac and cheese, 24 corn muffins, and a lobster tail for the birthday boy. We planned for dinner between 5:30-6, and Sam from CFBC arrived at about 4:30 to get everything going. Right on time, he had a disposable tablecloth spread out and a buffet with our sides set up, then brought the big boil pot up (they cook outside on a portable stove) to dump out all the yummy seafood, sausage, corn, and potatoes. The spread was a sight to see! Definitely check my photos! Everything was very delicious, with a couple notes for the future... we probably would not order mussels again unless the style of cooking them were changed. They were simply mixed in with the rest of the boil, so the result was when they opened up, their meaty insides just got lost in the pile and you really had to hunt for them, almost all shells were empty. I'd suggest either steaming them over the pot and seasoning after, or putting them in a fine mesh strainer or basket inside the boil pot to cook. The other note I had was that the mac n cheese was just kind of average. Likely that it was bagged easy mac or similar. The kids still loved it, but a baked mac or something house-made would make it better. Neither of these notes were significant enough to lower the rating on a sure 5-star experience! We would definitely book them again, probably next year! I would also note they were very accomodating in making a secondary smaller boil pot without sausage for the non-pork eaters in our group.
