Bought a second hand guitar from Guitar center's website. Spent over $1,000 on it. It took a week…read moreto be shipped to the Eugene location. That's fine. Upon its delivery I discovered several issues with the guitar, fret buzzing, g-string buzzes when plucked, Floyd Rose bridge uneven, And it wouldn't stay tuned really. I brought this to their attention and they were really cool about comping me for the $150 "platinum setup". The setup is advertised to leave one's guitar playing in flawless condition. When I turn the guitar over to their guitar tech him and I went over the guitar together recognizing the issues I just mentioned. A week later I get a call from the text saying the guitar is playing fabulously and it was ready for pickup. I was at work so I had my partner pick it up. The condition that the guitar was in blew my mind, I couldn't even tell what had been done to the guitar other than the new strings they put on, there was just as much if not more fret buzzing all up and down the neck, The Floyd Rose bridge wasnt just uneven, it was set at a steep incline. Also the whammy bar housing was loose. Turns out that's what was making the G string buzz. Which I fixed, along with every other issue. Also was tuned to open C. When I specifically told him drop B. The fact the tech guy told me on the phone "the guitar is shredding now bro", is laughable. What unprofessional results.

She even asked about the volume knob being close to the bridge. I am like that's the way Fender does it. Still only two POT-holes. And they are even two small. And even with the template the eight perimeter holes weren't exactly the same as my original pick guard. That would have still been usable butt.. And it fit way too snug between the neck and the bridge. An original Fender pickguard fits on my guitar perfect. Except for the mounting holes. I hope this is clear to know how absolutely ridiculously this lady failed. I ordered on Sep. 19. Received it today . Only two tone pot holes like the original guitar. She does get back to me either. Very poor response and communication. And it's still got screwed up and the workmanship on the shell was not smooth. It was bumpy and lumpy. Buyer beware..

They were great about explaining the different choices they had and talking about some of the different sounds each violin might produce. My daughter tried the four that were in our price range and didn't really experience anything remarkable. So ultimately we ended up playing a German Violin that had the sound she was looking for. Something about being made from wood from the Carpathian Forests, seemed to make a difference :) But I wouldn't hesitate to buy a violin from them. And personally, I'd love to do that b/c their service is so great (more about that next). So recently, we had a problem with our silent (electric) violin. One of the strings was starting to come apart a bit so we decided to get new strings thinking that would fix the problem. We brought the violin back and found out the problem was still there. So we called, and they said to bring the violin back and they'd take a look. We dropped it off and then about a day later they figured out it had to do with a finger guide we had wrapped around the neck which was coming up just enough to cause a problem w/ a couple of the strings. What impressed me though was how kind and helpful they were throughout the whole process. Cassie was the one helping us and she was AMAZING! So basically, the problem was all on us. We are the ones who caused this issue (not them). Yet they took the time to research the problem to try and figure out what it was, then figured out the issue and got us taken care of. Then on top of that we weren't charged anything. At one point they even offered to drop our violin off in Corvallis (where we live) to save us a trip back into Philomath. PRO TIP: If you're traveling from Corvallis, I recommend calling first depending on what you might need. For example, the person you may want to speak with or work with may not be there when you stop by so it might be wise to call again just to be sure. But they truly go above and beyond, give great service, their pricing is very fair and reasonable. We're fortunately to have such a great music business here in the area and I'm excited for the next time we'll be stopping by!

My wife surprised me by taking me to this store last Saturday to buy me a banjo for a gift. Kent,…read morethe owner, sat down with me and showed me all about the instrument - how to play, how to care for it, the history behind it. We were there for 2.5 hours, and I haven't felt that welcome in a business in a long time. He even cleaned up and did maintenance on the banjo for me for free. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help. The atmosphere is pleasant, laid back, and not at all pushy. They even showed concern when I wanted to spend more money to buy a fiddle for my wife. They wanted to make sure I wasn't going to spend on a whim. These people operate a music instrument store the way it should be run - the way any business should be run - and this is why I prefer independent shops. I will be returning for lessons and tips in the future...happily. Also, pet the dog! --:)

This is that old school brick and mortar shop, a welcome relief from superstore neon bulb lit outlets with the same old same old. Add personalized service by two of the nicest owner/ sales folk and you've got a music place in a historic town near the best beaches nearby.

Emily is a very talented pianist on her own. She is so patient with teaching my young…read moregranddaughter. She has made it fun to learn and accepts Kelsee's accomplishments at her own pace. I am very grateful to hear beautiful music coming from Kelsee's room as she plays. Emily let's Kelsee help choose her harder music pieces. After 2 years of instruction, she has no problem playing for other people. Being 9 years old, her listeners are surprised at how well she can play. Kelsee has loved music since she was a baby as she always danced to the beat. Her mom wanted her to take music lessons when she got older, but passed away when Kelsee was 5. As her grandma, I promised her mom I would always take care of her and help her move forward in learning music skills. Thank you, Emily. You are the perfect teacher for my granddaughter. When Emily moved from Brookings to Eugene, Oregon, we arranged to take lesson via FaceTime. It is very convenient for Kelsee to play on her own keyboard for each lesson.
