Ordered drinks and dinner. We ordered the blackened catfish and the Steak and Shrimp combo. Catfish came out incorrectly prepared the first time, but was sent back and corrected. The staff was friendly and the owners beautiful dog was guarding the bar area. This is a beach bar surrounded by a camp ground and sand. It was cold the night we were here so I wasn't able to get any scenic views. Asked the bartender for some originality of a signature shot, only to be shot down. Owner was very observant that I didn't finish my steak and offered to fix any issues. Disappointing Experience - Wouldn't Recommend Our visit was a letdown from start to finish. The chicken fried steak tasted like it was cooked in old oil, leaving a rancid aftertaste. The crawfish were overcooked, rubbery, and completely flavorless--a huge disappointment considering they should be the highlight of the meal. To top it off, service was lacking. Our waiter was actually the barback, clearly overwhelmed due to the restaurant being severely understaffed. It took way too long to get our food, and when it arrived, it wasn't worth the wait. Negative stars if I could. Absolute horrible experience. Save your time and money, go somewhere else. Waited almost 50 min for a shrimp boil that never came. When the server finally came to us, he let us know that the cook received the ticket but for whatever reason never made it. Again after 50 mins of waiting, just to tell me they never working on it to begin. The rest of my party received their food in decent time. Worst of all most of my party waited for me to get my food so we could all eat together, ended up eating cold mediocre food. Manager never came by to acknowledge the mistake or apologize. We had boudin balls, chicken tenders and pasta. We waited over an hour for our food. Pretty sure our waitress forgot to put our order in. My toddler was having a fit waiting that long. Our waitress was usually no where to be found. It took her 20 minutes to bring me a drink. There are no free refills. Not even water. The boudin balls were, eh. The pasta was pathetic. Tiny portions with sauce that was just gross, and had no seasoning. And the burnt chicken tenders were very dry. The macaroni was soggy and lacked any flavor.The fries were even gross. And to top it off, even the ketchup is gross. Disappointed is the understatement of the year. The place looked cute, we thought the food would be good I do not recommend anything here. We had a very positive experience here on the 4th of July. It was not busy at all, our waitress was very attentive. The view was so nice! The stuffed jalapeños were incredible. Thin breading, delicious filling. We split the spicy burger, and that was great as well. Good mix of flavors and not ~too~ spicy. They do tell you, and list on the menu, that tap water is not available to serve. They have bottled & canned water for purchase. We didn't have any issues with this! read more

I was a drab thick soup. The fish tacos were limp and soggy. There is not enough emphasis on local recipes of local seafood. Your competitor just down the beach -The Seahorse- has you beat on menu and food. With such an investment in your building and location, you should invest in a professional chef and a professional kitchen. The service by a bright young lady was good, and prompt. What you would expect for a beachside restaurant/bar. Laid back, chill atmosphere. It's one of the only places in seaside (and probably the largest) so you will just need to be patient. My friend was able to meet the owner when she was getting a drink from the downstairs bar and he said they only had 40 people on that night when they normally have 120-140 on staff! Covid has changed things so just sit back and enjoy the company your with, food will likely take an hour. After dinner make sure to stop down at the bar and listen to the band. It was right on the water so it had a very nice view too. It was Sunday morning and the place was fairly empty. We were sat right away. Some of us were more hungover than the others and weren't really feeling it. Most of us ordered bloody Mary's. You know... hair of the dog. The bloody Mary's were decent. The menu had good selections, and I went with the BLT. How could I go wrong with that? Let me just say... it was a very good BLT and if back down that way... that is exactly what I'd order again. The bacon was cooked to perfection. But honestly the reason for the high rating is because it was a beach front restaurant, the food was really good and the view. We just went to this place for my 40th birthday celebration and it was quite the experience! Our husbands were first reprimanded by the waitress for going up to the bar, because anywhere they go they like to meet the bartender and sit for a second. Then the waitress told us that she would split my kids meal personally because they won't do it in the back...it didn't happen. She was extremely short with us the entire time. My brother ordered crawfish and oysters and said "bring those out first". Alllllll of the food came out. Appetizers and everything at the same time. Except for the crawfih.... so my brother politely said just cancel the crawfish. Multiple employees came out talking about the cancellation then a head guy, not sure who he was, came out upset that it was cancelled explaining that we had to take it. We took it to go and paid for it. GREAT FOOD, but horrible service. They automatically added gratuity but it's ok! We left you even more. We are leaving a 5 star because we aren't in the business of hurting others. We Just think you should work on the experience! It's a tourist town with people celebrating special events. read more
