Checked this place out for lunch while hanging on the beach it has a nice kind of fun vibe ambiance i loved the hammocks underneath with the music outside I ate inside only because I was burnt and wanted some cool air. Service was great very friendly.food I would give 8 out of 10 fries peppers and cheese were good steak was a little dry and the coleslaw wasn't bad wish it was a little colder but over a good experience I would go back for drink and maybe a different food. read more

We arrived about 5pm Saturday after Labor Day. The view is great. If you're on the beach it's a good place to stop in. The service was very good- Court was our server and he checked on us frequently. We had Beachfront cheeseburgers and they were fine. We had unsweetened tea which was bottled and very good. All drinks are bottles or cans. Next time we'll try some cocktails- they looked interesting. read more

a complete waste of time and money, waited almost 3 whole hours to get our food just for it to be terrible. overpriced seafood boil just for it to barely have anything, we even asked for extra corn just for our meal to only have ONE piece and the waiter didnt even come back, we would've complained but we already waited long enough. stakes werent even cooked, even charging for refills which either way by the time our food came our drinks were all watered down and warm. the place itself is nice and great for taking pics and a decent place to hang around go ill give it that, but food and service wise, terrible. read more

Waited two hours for our food, only for it to come out cold. Waitress was apologetic for how long it took. Below subpar experience. Has the opportunity to be a cool place with the atmosphere and outdoor activities, view, etc. but ruined by understaffing and long wait. Talking to regulars for Surfside beaches, this is typical for this restaurant. read more

Loved it!! Did a lot of research before I moved to Texas and this was on my list of must sees! So much quieter than the beaches I come from but nonetheless it was awesome! The service was good and I loved the food, drinks especially! We got oysters, the Unda the Sea fishbowl which could be pricey, and the fried catfish was incredible. I'll be back read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED. WASTE OF MONEY. I was very disappointed when my $40.00, 12 oz steak plate came out. First the 3 shrimp on top was supposed to be grilled.. that was questionable.. ok so I eat them. I cut into my super thin steak.... and it is well done. not medium... I did not want a replacement because my husband's meal was there also. His was good, mine was not. They would not comp my meal... I only ate the three shrimp. they would only give a 70% discount. So my meal cost $11.79 for the three shrimp I ate. What a loser restaurant! I told the manager that it was a crap restaurant. read more

Ordered drinks and dinner. We ordered the blackened catfish and the Steak and Shrimp combo. Catfish came out incorrectly prepared the first time, but was sent back and corrected. The staff was friendly and the owners beautiful dog was guarding the bar area. This is a beach bar surrounded by a camp ground and sand. It was cold the night we were here so I wasn't able to get any scenic views. Asked the bartender for some originality of a signature shot, only to be shot down. Owner was very observant that I didn't finish my steak and offered to fix any issues. While it wasn't the best steak I have had, there were no problems, just a leftover treat for our dogs at home. read more

Shitty experience told us we couldn't even eat inside bar made us order to go for no reason at all

Disappointing Experience - Wouldn't Recommend Our visit was a letdown from start to finish. The chicken fried steak tasted like it was cooked in old oil, leaving a rancid aftertaste. The crawfish were overcooked, rubbery, and completely flavorless--a huge disappointment considering they should be the highlight of the meal. To top it off, service was lacking. Our waiter was actually the barback, clearly overwhelmed due to the restaurant being severely understaffed. It took way too long to get our food, and when it arrived, it wasn't worth the wait. Definitely won't be back. I would hate to see what this place does on a busy night. Not very many choices while you're in surfside, but make sure you stay away from this place. read more

Negative stars if I could. Absolute horrible experience. Save your time and money, go somewhere else. Waited almost 50 min for a shrimp boil that never came. When the server finally came to us, he let us know that the cook received the ticket but for whatever reason never made it. Again after 50 mins of waiting, just to tell me they never working on it to begin. The rest of my party received their food in decent time. Worst of all most of my party waited for me to get my food so we could all eat together, ended up eating cold mediocre food. Manager never came by to acknowledge the mistake or apologize. Never wasting my time here again. Crazy way to run a business. read more

Please do not waste your money. I cannot write a low enough review. SEVENTY TWO DOLLARS for two plates and an appetizer (and it was much worse than convenient store quality). We had boudin balls, chicken tenders and pasta. We waited over an hour for our food. Pretty sure our waitress forgot to put our order in. My toddler was having a fit waiting that long. Our waitress was usually no where to be found. It took her 20 minutes to bring me a drink. There are no free refills. Not even water. The boudin balls were, eh. The pasta was pathetic. Tiny portions with sauce that was just gross, and had no seasoning. And the burnt chicken tenders were very dry. The macaroni was soggy and lacked any flavor. The fries were even gross. And to top it off, even the ketchup is gross. Disappointed is the understatement of the year. The place looked cute, we thought the food would be good I do not recommend anything here. These pictures give this food far too much credit! read more

We had a very positive experience here on the 4th of July. It was not busy at all, our waitress was very attentive. The view was so nice! The stuffed jalapeños were incredible. Thin breading, delicious filling. We split the spicy burger, and that was great as well. Good mix of flavors and not ~too~ spicy. They do tell you, and list on the menu, that tap water is not available to serve. They have bottled & canned water for purchase. We didn't have any issues with this! read more

So expensive for barely edible food. The burgers are awful. Literally looks like fake meat. The food was like warm and the drinks weren't great either. Water is $3 a bottle which is insane. On top of a $130 bill one of our crew got sick from their meal... would not recommend. read more

The ambience is great, but the food is terrible... There were several words that got sick the night we ate there. It's just basic bar food not very good and expenses plus they do not give you water. Beachfront Deck Bar & Grill - Margarita! - Bars Near Me - Surfside Beach, Texas

I've been a couple of times right at 11am for lunch. I had the shrimp pasta both times and it was delicious. Atmosphere is very very relaxed. Def looks like a place Willie Nelson would kick it. Parking lot is just sand, if you have a low vehicle be careful. Staff has been very friendly and food was served quickly. Would love to come back in the evening to see what the vibe is like. There is outdoor and indoor seating available. Many if the seats have a perfect view of the beach. read more

The food? What arrived on my plate looked like clay sculptures of regret and smelled like Poseidon's armpit. I'm still waiting on my refund and my tetanus shot. The drinks? I ordered a margarita and was served something that tasted like windshield wiper fluid and sadness. My wife's drink looked like swamp water with a few raspberries thrown in as an apology. Service was so slow, I assumed the waitstaff was on a spiritual journey between table visits. Our waitress looked like she'd just fended off a dune buggy ambush in a post-apocalyptic wasteland--cool for a movie, less so for dinner. And the live music? Oh, the live music. Picture your sweet Asian grandmother accidentally stumbling into an open mic night, armed with a karaoke machine and a burning desire to emotionally destroy every 80s power ballad. By the third off-key wail of "Total Eclipse of the Heart," I was praying for an actual eclipse to end my suffering. Atmosphere was a mix between "abandoned pirate hangout" and "escape room with no exit." If you're into culinary trauma and emotional instability with your happy hour, congrats--you've found your spot! read more

Great location, large indoor space for seating, also outdoor seating over looking the beach. Swings and hammocks underneath the restaurant. I ordered a child's macaroni, child's fried shrimp, and a Swiss mushroom burger. Fries were great! My niece loved the macaroni, the shrimp was a little salty but good. The burger was tasty as well. Service was great! Would return and try other things on the menu next time we decide to go to the beach. read more

A stunning location with an 180 degree view of the Gulf of Mexico and its beaches. Breezy and nice outside. Clean, vivid colors in the decor give an upbeat ambiance...but...on this, my second visit in two weeks, the food did not match up to my first experience. The gumbo was not gumbo, period. I was a drab thick soup. The fish tacos were limp and soggy. There is not enough emphasis on local recipes of local seafood. Your competitor just down the beach -The Seahorse- has you beat on menu and food. With such an investment in your building and location, you should invest in a professional chef and a professional kitchen. The service by a bright young lady was good, and prompt. I am trying to be constructive here-I want Surfside Beach to have multiple top quality restaurants. I give the food a C- on this trip. read more

What you would expect for a beachside restaurant/bar. Laid back, chill atmosphere. It's one of the only places in seaside (and probably the largest) so you will just need to be patient. My friend was able to meet the owner when she was getting a drink from the downstairs bar and he said they only had 40 people on that night when they normally have 120-140 on staff! Covid has changed things so just sit back and enjoy the company your with, food will likely take an hour. After dinner make sure to stop down at the bar and listen to the band. They were great. read more

A group of us went down to Surfside for a bachelorette party. The night before we drank quite a bit and needed something in our stomachs before the drive home. Someone recommended Beachfront Deck Bar & Grill to us. It was pretty close to where we were staying so we decided to give it a try. It a very cute place with swings everywhere. It was right on the water so it had a very nice view too. It was Sunday morning and the place was fairly empty. We were sat right away. Some of us were more hungover than the others and weren't really feeling it. Most of us ordered bloody Mary's. You know... hair of the dog. The bloody Mary's were decent. The menu had good selections, and I went with the BLT. How could I go wrong with that? Let me just say... it was a very good BLT and if back down that way... that is exactly what I'd order again. The bacon was cooked to perfection. But honestly the reason for the high rating is because it was a beach front restaurant, the food was really good and the view. The view alone is worth checking this place out. read more

We just went to this place for my 40th birthday celebration and it was quite the experience! Our husbands were first reprimanded by the waitress for going up to the bar, because anywhere they go they like to meet the bartender and sit for a second. Then the waitress told us that she would split my kids meal personally because they won't do it in the back...it didn't happen. She was extremely short with us the entire time. My brother ordered crawfish and oysters and said "bring those out first". Alllllll of the food came out. Appetizers and everything at the same time. Except for the crawfih.... so my brother politely said just cancel the crawfish. Multiple employees came out talking about the cancellation then a head guy, not sure who he was, came out upset that it was cancelled explaining that we had to take it. We took it to go and paid for it. GREAT FOOD, but horrible service. They automatically added gratuity but it's ok! We left you even more. We are leaving a 5 star because we aren't in the business of hurting others. We Just think you should work on the experience! It's a tourist town with people celebrating special events. read more
