My daughter is 17 so I have to sign for her to tan. I signed and dropped her off and then came back to get her. She had not been in almost a year and was not familiar with this location. She called me from the bed to tell me it would not turn on so I went to the counter to let them know. This dark haired girl was sooooo extremely rude to me when I tried to explain. Apparently she had gone into the wrong bed by mistake and instead of trying to help her figure it out, she got rudeness and never even got to tan because they put someone else in her bed. This was after she waited for her bed for 25 minutes. If Beaches was not the only place that will tan 16-17 year olds, I would never ever come back. Would definitely recommend Palm Beach Tan over Beaches. I have never had anyone be rude to me there. read more

Want to feel looked down upon for saying no to a lotion sales pitch every time you visit? This is the place for you. The girls at the front are so pushy and condescending but I'm not going to pay $100 for a marked up bottle of tanning lotion every time I come in. I'm canceling because I am tired of feeling like I'm ruining their day every time I go in and the wait times are ridiculous every time (unless you want to pay more of course for one of the higher end beds). Everything here is just a scam. Overall the lack of genuine customer service just makes it feel like a fake and unfriendly place. came in to get a spray tan with my friend. while checking in my friend was told that she was 8th in line, and i checked in immediately after her which would have made me 9th in line. my friend ended up leaving with NO spray tan after waiting for 1 hour and 30 minutes because the wait time was ridiculous. the girls working let multiple of their friends cut in line. the girl working in front let two girls go back to the booth at the same time so that they could cut in line and go back to back. when i finally got the courage to ask if i still had my spot in line the girl working looked at me like i was stupid for asking, looked at the computer, then looked back and me and said "you'll be right after this girl" (one of the girls who went back to back). overall do not recommend this place :) read more

As for the facility itself, it's clean, affordable, and aesthetic. The people seem very friendly but, there is a lot of pressure to become a member. These girls hustle and are doing their jobs well. Personally, i don't like hearing the same sales pitch every time i go in. They must have a rule about pushing back after someone says no to signing up because, i've never had the conversation end after telling them i'm not interested. First of all the manager that runs the beaches in AF does an amazing job!!When you first walk in your greeted with beautiful amazing smiles that are ready to help you in whatever way they can! They're super knowledgeable on all the equipment they have and are more then willing to provide you with a tour so you know how all the machines work and what they do to help you meet your goals! I always start off my day with an amazing massage on the massage chair and then follow up with a detox in the cocoon and finish off with red light therapy! I'm greeted with smiles and great energy and when I leave it's the same thing! perfect way to kick off your day!! 5 stars for beaches in AF You ladies are the best!!! read more

I already bought one from you then you say I need an after lotion, and when I say no you sit there and talk to your friends and won't let me go into my room when I clearly see it is open and ready. I have always had a positive experience at the AF Beaches Tanning Center. The employees are sooo sweet and helpful and know their stuff. I feel like they are super quick to handle big crowds and take care to clean beds between customers. Beware!! Chemically burned! PICTURE! Just finished tanning at this location and everywhere my skin touched the bed is on fire! I jumped out at the 8 minute mark and from my shoulders down to my calf's is completely burned. What kind of chemical is being used to cause such a burn? I have tanned here before so I know it's not an allergic reaction. How hard is it to prevent your customers from being burned like this? Do not go here! read more

I have been here a handful of times now and I have to say that I am totally impressed. The facility is nice, and I've loved my versa spray tan. But the thing I'm most impressed with is how incredibly welcoming and friendly the staff has been, specifically Gabrie. She has been so wonderful every single time I've seen her. She made me feel like she genuinely cared that I was there. Bethany and Ashley were also there and great to work with. I had so much fun chatting with them before my tan! Im never the one to complain or be upset about beaches. I go into the orem beaches every two weeks getting the same thing and have a great experience. Every two weeks I go in to get a tan for 9 minutes & a versa spray tan. Tonight when I went in to the American Fork Beaches, there were two girls were up front & seemed to not really want to be there by talking to each other vs the customer in front of them. I got my taj & then went into the spray tan versa room. It started to spray but almost like a mist as if the bottle or spray was clogged.. I looked down & my body was covered in polk a dot freckles. So i stopped the spray tan before the machine could finish. I get dressed so I could let the girls know something was wrong with the machine. I go up and seemed there were going to have a meeting or something due to all the employees there. The girl who originally helped me I told her I think something is wrong with the machine.. look at me. And she then says no it does that. Which I know it doesn't since I go every two weeks to get them. Then I think I spoke with the manager about how I thought something was wrong with the machine. She then proceeded to say the same thing about how it happens and once I shower it will go away.. I then proceeded to tell her I know it doesn't look like this because the orem one doesn't do this. All the employees there then started to stare at me while I was talking to this girl. She offered me a free tan and I told her its ok because I really was just trying to help show them their machine was broken. I mainly am just upset that at this beaches they seemed to be taught to not put customers first, they all have a catty & rude personality, no customer service experience at all. Usually my experience here and at every Beaches Salon goes seamlessly. Tonight was a different story. Upon walking in, it was not busy. A total of 5 people (including myself) one was walking out and chatting with a couple that was checking in. Another was signing up for a pass. There were about 5 or 6 employees at the front of the store at that time and I was told I would be helped in a minute. After being "helped" I was told to go to bed 16 which is supposedly considered a diamond bed along with 1 and 19 (they were in use). I go straight back to bed 16 and get disrobed and apply my tanning lotion. I get in the bed to find that it will not start because someone at the front didn't set my time. Now I am forced to get dressed and go to the front. Then I am asked my name and told, "oh sorry you are supposed to be in bed 14." I get all of my stuff and move to bed 14 that does not appear to be a diamond bed THAT IS ALREADY GOING. I have never been put in that bed before with my pass, so who knows what was going on. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and walk up to the front and ask for my beds time to be restarted since it was their mistake and I had lost time in the bed. When I get up there a different girl tells me that she is restarting my time. I get to bed 14. DISROBE AGAIN. Get in the bed and IT WILL NOT START. At this point in time I am infuriated. I get dressed and walk out. Never have I ever had such a horrible experience even at the peak business time(s). What a waste of my time and not to mention expensive lotion. read more

We bought the Platinum package. That's a mid-priced package. Here's the thing - there's only two platinum tanning beds. Out of maybe 20. We went 5 times and 3 out of 5, my husband had to downgrade to "gold" because only one platinum bed was working and he didn't want to wait 45 minutes nor pay extra to upgrade. Today, we both went and 2/2 platinum beds were broken. There is only one Gold bed and one Gold stand-up. Both were being used. We were willing to wait (still not getting our moneys worth). They offered me the Gold standup and I agreed so I wouldn't have to wait an hour. They are ADAMANT about seeing that you have your own eye protection UNLESS you go in the Gold stand up. You have to have the kind of goggles that have an elastic to hold them against your face since you're standing up. They really don't care if you burn your eyes I guess. When I realized that my goggles didn't have a strap, I asked to be switched to a lay down. 30+ people came and went ahead of me because I had the platinum plan which I couldn't use because THEIR equipment was broken and they wouldn't upgrade me to the better bed. So I had to wait over an hour to use the least expensive bed. Bottom line/ if you don't want to have to wait, you'll need to buy the most expensive plan (diamond) because 16/20th beds are only diamond level. All of the staff were nice except for one person who said in a snotty way that I had such a long wait because everyone else paid more than me. read more

Pay attention to your tan time! I went in tonight and said I wanted to do "exactly what I did last time" which was 8 minutes in a diamond bed. At 8 minutes and 30 seconds I realized the bed was still going and tried turning the bed off. I learned their stop button does not work (good to know) and hopped out of the bed with the bed still running. I threw on my clothes and let the guy at the front know what had happened and he looked and said, "yeah, you did 8 minutes last time and we had you in there for 10." He said he would "talk to her and find out what happened." To me, with how dangerous what she did was and what it could have done to my skin, I hardly feel pacified with that resolution. Please keep track of your own time and don't doze off!!! read more

As I write this, I'm standing in line waiting to check in and tan. I've been standing here for 11 minutes so far...with no end in sight. Why? Because the 2 gals working the counter are working the 2 people in front of me, giving it everything they e got to sell upgrades, more lotions and changing plans. I know when I cone in I'll be asked the same 2 questions in this exact way: 1) How's your day going? And 2) some random comment in my nails, outfit or the weather. Then a pitch on lotion. Every. Dang. Time. I finally bought the hemp lotion just to get them to stop asking. I just want to tan. It would be soooooooo much better if you had one person who did nothing but check ins instead of two people shoving additional sales pitches at us. Update on the line....it's now 8 people deep and I'm up to 19 minutes waiting. The good news on this place? They have great beds, it's super clean, and relatively comfy as you wait. I endded up losing money because i was told i needed to pay 8 dollars for a spray tan to activate my all access free week pass. Which was a great deal and an amount i was happy to pay. I was told i could redeem the sray tan when ever i wanted but going back i was told i had to use it within 30 days (which has already past). I loooooooove this location! The staff have been immensely kind and friendly from the first day I walked in. They are AWESOME at explaining products and services and how to get your best tan. At some tanning places, the associates go overboard with trying to sell product/packages and become pushy, but I have never felt like that here. The place is always clean, and I think their diamond beach club is so worth it because of all of the services they offer (massage chairs, sunless tanning, red light therapy, etc!). I got a groupon and used it before months ago. I recently saw the Groupon come up again and purchased it. I don't do a spray tan often but figured why not. It also takes 30 minutes to get to the nearest location. When I arrived they told me I couldn't use the Groupon I purchased and would have to pay full price. She was well aware there is nothing on the site that said anything about this. She told me I should just try to get a refund from Groupon and that sucked! She then proceeded to ask me if it help if she took $5 off the $18 spray tan. I said yes and waited to see what my bank statement said when the pending charge finally went through. She didn't even apply any discount. Last time I was here they made me do a whole tour because I hadn't been to this location and pushed the monthly spray package. It's not a bad place besides inconvenient location for me and they are a little pushy with sales. But they are not accommodating and lied about applying a discount. I won't go back! read more
