My husband and I knew we want to combine southern food with chinese food so that we could have a little bit of both of our upbringings featured. We told Harvest Moon our vision, and wow, did they deliver. Our menu consisted of two different types of salad, duck and pork belly buns, shrimp lo mein, mapo tofu, a carving station with beef tenderloin and chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and mixed vegetables. We also had a couple guests with allergies/restrictions, and Harvest Moon was super accommodating (one of our friends who is a vegetarian couldn't stop raving about the mushroom ravioli). It was all so good. We received so many compliments from our guests. The staff were also so amazing. Everyone was so professional, helpful, well trained, and friendly. It was awesome. When we finally had the chance to connect, Christine said that she would reach out to me with an initial proposal based on what we've discussed within 2 weeks. Well, a month went by and after multiple follow ups and no proposal was sent, I decided to book another caterer. It was funny because I specifically remember during our call, Christine had even made a comment that she has not worked at my wedding venue probably because they were probably "too expensive" for some people. I honestly think it's their lack of communication and their inability to follow up because if one can't communicate well planning wise, how can a potential client see them being able to handle a whole wedding? My fiance and I set aside a huge budget for food as it was so important to us for our guest to have exquisite food and we would have definitely book them regardless of cost, but unfortunately, Bluewater missed out. I totally understand having a busy season, but there were multiple people from Bluewater Kitchen CC'd on the emails that I had sent, and no one responded. Other vendors that were booked for my wedding also had a busy season but I had no problems working with them around that. I'm a patient person so if someone had responded and said that they are in the middle of busy season and that they would follow up with me (and actually follow up) afterwards, I would have totally fine with it. I would not recommend them to friends or family unfortunately. Hopefully, they figure out a better process around this.
