Pulled pork (0 fat:), vinegar based coleslaw, collard greens & corn bread.
    Vanessa P.

Another great dinner at Beach Pit! The vinegar-based coleslaw was perfectly tangy, the collard greens were flavorful, and the corn muffin hit the spot. The pulled pork was especially impressive--tender and lean with no excess fat. Always a solid choice!

I ordered to go but still had to wait about 10 min after the expected pick up time. There is a nice outdoor patio with interesting decor so the wait wasn't bad. I ordered the turkey plate which came with two sides and I chose green beans and Mac n cheese. The turkey was pleasantly moist and tender with a slight smokiness that wasn't overbearing. The green beans were not overcooked and the mac n cheese was spot on, not overly cheesy. The corn bread has blue berries so I was expecting it to be sweet but it wasn't at all and was very moist. The whole meal just came really well together and I like that they provided a pat of butter for the bread. The complaint I have would be the proportions. The turkey provided was only a few slices while the corn bread was massive in comparison. I would have preferred more of the main entree rather than the bread. I also got an additional side of Texas chilli which was full of flavor and amazing but I was surprised that it came in a shallow container that was smaller than the other 2 sides yet was $10. It was enjoyable though and I had it with some tortilla chips. Given that, I might still return when I'm in the area and feel like treating myself to some BBQ.

Brisket salad is sad and uninspiring for the price.

Very cool BBQ spot tucked away like a little oasis. Looks like it was a house at one time that's been converted into a restaurant. Huge comfy patio plus some inside seating. Parking is limited and you can get trapped if someone pulls in behind you so make sure to look before pulling in too far. I wasn't lucky enough to snag a spot but there was plenty of street parking. The burnt ends appetizer was 5 stars BBQ perfection. Melt in your mouth tender, saturated with smokiness, and had a delicious dry rub. Unfortunately nothing else compared. My brisket salad was truly sad and uninspired for the price. Zero creativity in this boring salad. The brisket was horrible. Zero flavor and so chewy I thought I was eating a sirloin steak at Denny's. I can't believe this was slow cooked like the burnt ends. Total waste of money. Even the honey mustard was an odd choice and did not work. My wife's two item combo was no better. Same chewy flavorless brisket along with completely flavorless sausage. She had to drown everything in BBQ sauce which was very good. We also had Fried okra which as good. You get your own drinks but they do bring out your food and clean up your table so the up front tip is warranted. Service was extremely friendly. Maybe it was a bad day but my wife and I both agreed we wouldn't return.

For our micro-wedding we had Beach Pit BBQ ... hands down, the juiciest, tenderest, flavorful, finger licking mmm mmm MMM!! Delicious bbq yet! Highly recommend! We ordered 2 of the Party Pack which feeds up to 40 people we only had some left overs cause or party had 30-35 people. We had pulled pork, sausage, and brisket! (Not a big fan of chicken) The gentleman who came to drop off the food was very sweet, let us borrow some (very high end) utensils since they ran out of the plastic ones when he came back to pick them up I forgot to catch his name but big shout out to him!

First time visitors, and we are so glad to have found this place! Food was incredible, portions were great, and the people there were so friendly! Will definitely be coming back to bring my bbq fanatic grandparents :-) Also the outdoor seating was so cozy and welcoming.

Must try restaurant in the OC! Blown away by their service and the quality of their food! I'm not really a BBQ fan but this wasn't too heavy! The staff were so nice and courteous! The brisket and pulled park was well worth it! Best part- pricing very fair. Thank you for a pleasant time with friends on a Friday night!

This review is for the online ordering. Ordered for pick up at 3:15. Received an email confirming my food would be ready at 3:15. Called to let them know I had arrived in the parking lot at 3:20, and the employee told me she would bring out the food when it was ready. It is now 3:40 and I am still waiting in my car. What is the point of having a set pick up time when you don't have the food ready within a reasonable time of the scheduled pick up? I could understand a delay of 10 minutes or less, but 25 minutes plus is outrageous. The food itself is good, just be prepared to wait even if you order online with a specific pick up time.

Amazing service with very personable and friendly staff. Lots of menu options and strong portions that aren't too overwhelming. Outside ambience and vibe were perfect for an elevated casual weekend dinner. We will definitely be coming back!

Chopped brisket, burnt ends, ribs, macaroni & cheese, coleslaw, cornbread, and pulled pork! All the staples.

We've been consistent customers of Beach Pit Barbecue for a couple of years now and they are truly one of the most reliable and consistent places in the area. I personally love the ribs. They are perfectly seasoned, not overdone, and you can enjoy them without sauce if that is your preference, which it is for me. The texture is spot on, tender enough to bite into without falling off the bone, and never chewy. The meats are always cooked just right, moist, flavorful, and consistently excellent. The staff at Beach Pit are fantastic as well. If you have the chance to dine in, the sit-down area is beautiful and a really enjoyable space to visit. I also appreciate their sides. They are made the classic way with no modern twists, which I love for that authentic barbecue experience. For quality, consistency, and true barbecue flavor, Beach Pit Barbecue is my number one pick in the area above all else.

Second time coming in to eat here, and it unfortunately wasn't as great this time around as it was my first time coming in. The place is super cute, The servers are nice, + everything came out quickly but The meat was lukewarm, and not very hot. The ribs were good, the had a nice smoke ring and fell off the bone, the pulled pork was a bit dry and cold , and Brisket was slightly chewy ,and the sausage wasn't great it was cold and had a weird texture. The baked beans were my fav side dish loved the addition of kidney beans and it was a nice sweetness, savory balance ! However, The Mac n cheese had little to no flavor and was watery, the coleslaw was pungently vinegary , it was way too overpowered. Corn bread was super dry and the blueberry one tasted slightly undercooked / floury . Overall don't think I'll be returning

Parking can be a little bit tricky, but if you get there early enough you're in for a treat. One of the things I love about this place is it's very casual atmosphere, that really feels like you're eating at a friend's house for breakfast. The place is well kept, has plenty of outdoor seating if you choose, and inside. Has a very pleasant tasteful decor that is very casual and warm and inviting. I have not eaten here for lunch, as it's always been a breakfast place for me. Everything on the menu is stellar. And I've never had a bad experience here at all. This particular trip, I wanted to try something that I had never had before so I opted for the chow prime breakfast burrito... Which has strips of prime rib, hash browns, two eggs, onions and peppers, and is served with this amazing homemade salsa. The homemade salsa should also be a controlled substance, because I had three of them and I could probably take some home. I am a big fan of coffee, and their coffee does not disappoint. Super tasty. Just strong enough and unlimited refills. Their weight staff is absolutely perfect. If you go there, ask for Alex, super chill guy, attentive without being overbearing, and ready to make suggestions. He was definitely part of the wonderful dining experience. Bottom line? When you are in Costa Mesa and you are looking for a place to have breakfast, you owe it to yourself to go to Eat Chow. I'm not saying it'll change your life, I'm just saying it will change your life.

The Pork Belly with Black Garlic and the Seared Duck Breast were both perfectly executed. Crunchy, golden skin. Juicy meat. Rich, flavorful sauces paired with comforting, silky purées. Balanced. The kind of plates that make us slow down to savor each mouthful... and then shamelessly scrape up every last bite. We were so smitten after those first two dishes that we threw all caution and control to the wind. I asked staff to surprise us with one of the dishes recommended earlier. Out came the Grilled Octopus Al Pastor. Nice char, tender bite, and a tangy sauce. For dessert: the Baklava Cheesecake. Lightly spritzed with aromatic rose water, ultra sweet, and unapologetically indulgent. Beautifully crafted and shareable, though you may not want to. Beyond the food, the ambience really shines. Intimate, classy, and whimsical, with a charming playlist. Ideal for date nights or special celebrations. Service was outstanding. Warm, attentive, and passionate. Staff enthusiastically walked us through the menu and offered recommendations. Our server was on point. Water glasses were never empty, plates cleared promptly, and everything flowed seamlessly. An incredible experience from start to finish. I couldn't stop yapping about the duck and pork belly since our first dinner here. So we came back the following weekend! We ordered our favorites again - the Pork Belly with Black Garlic and the Seared Duck Breast. To our surprise, the meats felt rather chewy and tough. I'm hoping this was a hiccup, but would love to see consistency in texture. Will be coming back for more :)

Wow, the food was phenomenal...but what pushed this from a 4 star to a 5 star experience were the warm towelettes and lemon for me to wash my hands with. I guess they saw me using my hands to eat their delectable empanadas, they brought a plate with warm towelettes and lemon over. Pleasantly surprised and impressed.
