Convenient but bare-bones pharmacy. I went in looking for eye makeup and had a choice of about 4 colors total. Their entire makeup section was the size of a newspaper. Shelves were barely stocked in other areas. Maybe that's something common in a summer-season beach town but I was quite surprised actually being that it was the only show in town. Can't speak to their pharmacists though, maybe they are better. read more

The friendly staff are the only reason for the second star. The hours are terrible (9 - 5:30 M-F). Don't get sick on an evening, weekend, or holiday unless you want to travel an extra hour or more for your meds. And he very sure to verify that you received the correct count and dosage. I've had to return multiple times because I was given the wrong strength of not enough of a specific medicine. And no, Nathan, they weren't narcotics. If the nearby Food Lion were permitted to open a pharmacy, this one would be toast. read more

new owner things are diff I use to get both my meds filled same day for years down here with diff owner and for some reason with a NEW owner now there a week apart I know they have a lot to deal with but there closed on weekends and on holiday mondays when Tim worked there everything was fine now locals are getting tired of how medications are being filled at diff times when should be fillled together or diff day the price is ok it's just hard to get medication filled bc there are so many people sometimes and your in store in line for a good bit and medication isn't filled same day always even if call In refill hours ahead of time so there are people in line for nothing and have to come back i hope they get the ball rolling faster and do it bc really only pharmacy on island except hatteras which almost same so if have the extra money to blow on gas to go to nags head or VA most lik not so I hope they just started off slow and need to get into how it needs to work here on this island read more

OK when I saw the pharmacy had a 1 star rating I thought for sure that some pill head gave it a bad review because they weren't able to get their fix... It is absolutely dumbfounding that someone gives a PHARMACY 1 star because they don't have your make up selection... really? they are a pharmacy...I am sooo sorry they couldn't fix your ugly. I'd give zero stars if I could. We were on vacation and the doctor ordered emergency antibiotics for my husband. They wouldn't fill it till we came in the store in person, then said 30 minutes. When i came back there was a lively personal conversation going on, and they hadn't even started my prescription. So she told me in a very condescending manner to come back in 20 minutes. When I came back again she would barely speak at all. Rude, but they are the only alternative! read more

I saw some negative reviews from out of town individuals who obviously are not used to "Island Life." This is not a Walmart with a 100 different options of everything. That is the charm of living here on Hatteras Island. It has some of everything a pharmacy usually has. The card selection is GREAT and inexpensive. Although the pharmacy usually has a 24 hour refill, many times you can get it the same day. They don't have everything but usually order specific items if you need them. Because this is an independently owned pharmacy, my prescriptions are about 1/3 of the costs of the chain stores I was used to in Virginia! Some prescriptions are actually free with my insurance although that never happened in Virginia. They have a neat craft section which has a good variety of items. A good little souvenir section. I have been living in Avon for over 4 years now and am very pleased with this store. read more
