The exterior of the building is nicely maintained and upon walking in the store I was totally mesmerized at all of the stuff to look at. We were really excited to see this place open until 6 on Easter Sunday so we rushed over around 2pm to ensure we could walk around and browse. So glad we did! My favorite shop on Hatteras Island! They definitely got…read moremost of my "souvenir " money in the way of yarn and jewelry. Also bought some crochet hooks and an embroidery kit as a gift. Loved their yarn bowls, pottery, and jewelry selection. My friend also bought a $50 bag of self-selected discount yarn. We came for the yarn- they have two full rooms dedicated to it, with some nice name brands and quality fibers, some hand dyed locally, others from as far away as Australia. Broad variety of weights, fibers, and colors, almost had everything I was looking for. One thing I might suggest adding to the inventory is some beach-themed drop spindles and some roving (spinning fiber), grown and dyed in NC. We visited twice in the one week of our stay. The guy at the register is somewhat brusque but he's a hoot. The woman in charge of the yarn room was very sweet and helpful. There are two big well behaved shop dogs, but I recommend leaving your own pets at home, they are probably not allowed. All in all, we had a great time shopping and will be back next year- maybe with some of our projects made from the yarns we bought.

When I told the cashier working behind the counter all he did was shake his head and say, " i'm so sorry about that". There was no urgency to find and get rid of the cockroach. He never even asked where the roach was. I know for a FACT, that the cockroach is still in that store. My family and I were disgusted, Absolutely NEVER visiting that Super Wings EVER again.
