This was Koda's first board-and-stay experience, and I was pretty nervous about leaving him anywhere. He has pancreatitis, which means he requires a strict diet, daily probiotics, folate, and GastroElm. But from the moment I spoke with Beach Paws, I felt a huge sense of relief. The owners have a dog with pancreatitis too, so they truly understood my concerns--and they went above and beyond to make sure Koda was well cared for. I'm incredibly grateful to them and the entire team for their compassion, attention to detail, and the peace of mind they gave me. I also appreciated how well kept and clean the facility was. We checked in on Koda daily and there was always someone there washing dog dishes, blankets and floors. They also make sure pets there are vaccinated so everyone stays healthy during their stay. The grooming room is super cute and I love that they offer it as an option. Thank you for treating Koda like one of your own! To know me is to know that I am the quintessential neurotic dog mom. Try to tell me that I did not birth my pup, please try. You cannot. My pup is my child, and I will only accept the best when it comes to her. We moved to the area recently and had zero contacts for social parks, groups, or daycamps for our pup. While walking her one morning, a fellow dog owner told me about Beach Paws and that he takes his dog to daycamp there, so I went to tour the place and get a feel for it. We were impressed and decided after lots more research, to give Beach Paws a try. We are so glad we did! Our gal loves it! We were nervous the first time she was there, but the staff did everything they could to help us feel more at ease. They have cameras on the outside play area where you can check in to see how they are doing, and they even put up with my calls to check-in. This morning, our pup galloped inside the door, so excited to be there! That told me everything I needed to know to definitely be at ease that she is getting the positive, social time she enjoys, and I want for her! I loved their process for making sure our girl had all of the correct vaccines, a waiting period after receiving the kennel cough vaccine, etc. That makes me feel at ease that she is in a safe place! I have been taking my yorky (Simon) to Beach Paws for over a year every month. Crystal has always done a great job, BUT the last time I took him in November was the last time because evidently Crystal did not take care of him. When I picked him up he was scared to death his hair was so chopped up (it was horrible) they did not trim his nails or brush his teeth. I would hire Crystal in a heartbeat to groom Simon, but he will NEVER go back to Beach Paws. I would have taken him back so they could make it right, but you only treat my baby like that one time. read more

We were very apprehensive about finding a pet sitter or even boarding our new puppy that we almost scrapped our trip to North Carolina entirely. But, after careful deliberation, we decided to bring our new friend with us (from Washington, D.C.) and board him at Beach Paws, so he would be nearby. As it turns out, it was one of the best decisions we've made regarding our pet to date. He absolutely loved it there! He had the opportunity to roam around in various play rooms and areas outside and socialize in pet day care, while we were getting a much needed break from reality on the beach! We were even able to take him to the beach with us one day, and watch him on webcam when we didn't! It truly was a pet resort! The staff was extremely friendly and caring, and the facilities were very clean! I highly recommend Beach Paws! As we travel to the Atlantic Beach/Beaufort/Morehead area frequently, we will be coming back to Beach Paws on a regular basis! read more

My dog attends daycare regularly at home, so maybe I'm just used to our daycare. Beach Paws has an app that you can check on your dog, which is really cool. I checked on her throughout the day and she was in the same room every time. There were no toys in the room. No staff engaging them in play. The dogs were just laying around. When she got in the car she smelled horribly of pee. Like, windows down, smelled like pee. I called to tell them about it and they did offer a comp bath if I brought her back the next day. My dog has never come home smelling like pee or anything from her home daycare. It was nice of them to offer a bath but I wish they would have caught it before she rolled around in pee. I think this is a product of having the dogs in the same room most of the day with no employees present. Of course they're going to miss accidents. Honestly, most dogs are house trained so if they're going inside, are the outdoor breaks not frequent enough? My dog didn't seem to like it. She was an anxious mess for a few hours after I picked her up. Panting and excited-definitely not tired at all from what should have been a day of play. I decided to not take her back. It's a waste of money to have her just lay around and get smelly. I know that if I travel to the area again I will have to stay somewhere that I can leave my dog in my rental. This is the only dog daycare in the area that I could find. I will end on a positive. I gave 3 stars because there's promise here. The property is adorable. They have a great play yard and splash pad. Employees were friendly. Grooming onsite. Secure building. Love the whole camera app thing. They did offer to bath her for me. read more

We used Beach Paws for the first time this past Saturday for our 7-month old Shichon. He is very playful and attends daycare once a week where we live, so he was not timid about being left there. I thought this place was phenomenal though ... very attentive and kind folks. Sometimes, they keep some of the smaller dogs behind the desk with them and there are windows to see some of the other dogs playing. Beach Paws also has grooming, etc., which is great. So glad we found them for the times we want to do a day trip!! read more

If you need a place to take your furry kids in the Morehead/Beaufort/Atlantic Beach area, give these ladies a call. They are working very hard in a very underserved market. I think the "Crystal Coast' is trying to maintain its small town charm, but on any given summer weekend THOUSANDS of people flock here, and there is almost nowhere to take your pet for a few hours of "people time". Beach Paws was able to take our blue heeler at the last minute on probably the busiest weekend of the year, and she had a great time. Highly recommend. read more

We too, were very apprehensive about leaving the care of our rescue dog, Sully, with anyone other than ourselves. Circumstances required us to consider leaving him for an overnight. Just like new parents of an infant, we anxiously spoke with the staff. They were wonderful. After we received a tour of the facilities (amazing), we knew that our Sully was in the right place. The next morning, he greeted us happy and relaxed. This is remarkable for a dog who has had many bumps in his life. All we can say is that Beach Paws really cares about the best welfare of your loved one. We will drive 2 hours out of our way to have Sully stay with them! read more

We rented a fantastic home on the ocean for a family reunion this past fall, but unfortunately it was not "dog friendly". But, Beach Paws is. Our son, also bringing his dog, found them on line, so after speaking with the staff about the "resort", off we went. While we were heartbroken to leave Cali with someone else, we were able to follow her routine via closed circuit monitoring. Yes, we came the next day for a visit and walk, but honestly, Cali couldn't wait to return. Plenty of individual interior rooms for playing, and lots of outdoor area to run and play. In short, they were wonderful. They made sure that Cali's papers were up to date before our arrival, were unbelievably attentive and caring, and Cali thoroughly enjoyed her week stay. I have been taking my dog to Beach Paws for over 6 years. She absolutely loves going and the employees treat her like she is their own. They also offer reasonable grooming services. I picked up my dog today and he was caked in mud, had scrathes on his stomach where it's obvious he was pinned down, his fur is greasy to the visible eye, he reeks of urine where he was either peed on or laid in pee due to no one keeping the room clean, he looks bored on camera, and he never seems happy when I pick him up. My dog went to another daycare before and he was always playing, he always left with a huge grin on his face, and he went 5 months without a bath and never got dirty or greasy and he did play outside. When I look on the camera I just see him walking around in circles and not trying to play with any other dogs. I bought a 7 day package and used 3 days and asked for my money back and when I told Blair why she made it seem like I was overreacting "because dogs get dirty." Well if dogs at beach paws get this dirty then they should be wiped off or bathed. I don't know if it's the staff or just The individual room attendant not doing her job, but I never ran into this problem at his previous daycare and I will not be bringing him back ever again. If I could give beach paws zero stars I would because I am thoroughly disappointed with the service I have received in just three days. I am going to find an in-home doggy day care where I know my dog will be taken care of to my standards which his previous doggie daycare more than met. I visited from out of town and called in advance to book my dog for daycare during the day while I was in town. Took my dog the first day and it took over 20 mins just to get him checked in. I downloaded the app so I could check in on my dog during the day. I checked in several times an hour throughout the day. My dog was in the same room all day long with the same three other dogs. There were no toys for him to play with and no staff members in the room with the dogs. I checked the app at one time and saw my dog use the bathroom (number 2) in the room. My dog is house trained and does NOT go inside unless he is sick (and even then it's rare). They must not have taken him outside for quite some time. My dog also came home with a cut on his back leg that the staff was unable to explain what happened (they weren't in the room all day, how would they have known?). I paid $20 for a day of daycare in which my dog had no play time and I watched him on a webcam most of the day. Needless to say I didn't pay for the second two days of daycare and just kept my dog with me. I can watch him on a pet monitoring app/camera while he was at the house and save myself the $20. I will never go back and my in town friends will no longer recommend this place. read more

I cannot praise Beach Paws enough! We have a rescue dog that does not always get along well with other dogs, but the staff at Beach Paws are excellent with him. Not only do they ensure his safety, but they also ensure the safety of other dogs and assess what dogs will be a good fit to play with one another (and they are supervised as well). She is a little shy and the staff spent extra time making sure she got involved with all the other dogs for play time. She wasn't ready to leave when we showed back up and was totally worn out. This place is amazing I take my pup here almost daily. Everyone is so nice and within one day everyone knew my dog's name. I own a husky so I'm very particular about how he is groomed since you cannot damage the guard hairs. This place knew exactly what to do and even trimmed his claws with no issues. This was not the best place for our dog. We chose it based on the good reviews and webcam, but I guess I should have noticed that most of the reviews are over a year old. The staff was rude and the front office is extremely chaotic. We were shuttled in and shuttled out. Our dog wasn't given the opportunity to roam around or be free throughout the day even though they had several areas that were unused. Most of the dogs were kept together in a front room that would stress anyone out. Beach Paws was supposed to cut her nails, but didn't cut all of them, only a few, yet still charged us full price. They said she didn't like it! Our full review is on google, but wanted to express a bit of our dissatisfaction on yelp in case these are the only reviews read. Look around before you make a decision. I suggest asking if you can view the dogs on the camera prior to your stay. As least you can see the areas that your dog may get to visit. We have recently moved to the beach, found Beach Paws online, and decided to have them groom our 6 yr-old male Westie. The first time, we were really pleased and felt like we had found a great place - we even bragged to friends. Unfortunately today we took him for grooming and had a TOTALLY different experience. When we dropped him off, the groomer we used the first time asked how we wanted him groomed and we talked several minutes as we went over each area of his body describing our preference. We wanted the very same style as before only this time for her to trim him a little shorter. We even showed her a favorite photo of his face to clarify how we like for him to look. We told her specifically NOT to trim the fur on his face too short as we don't like to see dark skin rather than white fur on the top of his nose. When we arrived to pick him up, we were surprised to see the groomer leaving the building. We went in and were shocked when we saw him!! The fur on his face is way too short (from his eyes to the tip of his nose is all dark skin and no white fur covering it); he has gaps on several areas of his body; fur on his ears isn't remotely symmetrical; and he's way shorter than we requested. We had asked her to trim his tail a little and that's the one place that doesn't appear to have been trimmed at all, making our now extremely short-haired dog have a 3" diameter bushy tail. He looks like a totally different dog. Needless to say, we will never go back and will certainly never recommend Beach Paws to anyone again. We can hardly believe we paid $50 for someone to do this to our dog. Now we understand why she never called us to let us know he was ready and why she left the building before we got in to pick him up. read more

THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!! After boarding my pets for 3 days, we have had severe diarrhea and vomitting. They have had to be taken to their vet for medical attention. They were so dehydrated, that the vet diagnosed them with pancreatitis. I called back to tell the "manager" (doubtful), and was told they did everything correctly and it couldn't be their fault. They must have been drinking standing water and got a virus. Impossible as they are inside pets. This "manager" then beraided me for calling them. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! So, for those of you who think this place is amazing, think again. Hopefully your pet(s) will survive their stay. #BEACHPAWSSUCKS. I would like to OWNER to contact me for further discussion.
