While waiting for my dog to get her nails clipped today, I placed an order for pill pockets. Since my dog is very anxious I went ahead and picked the order for them. When i went up to the register they said they didnt have the order yet. An Associate brought up my order and said " We need 1- 3 hours to fill orders. WE ARE NOT ROBOTS!" The PetSmart on 5160 US 70 in Morehead is the best PetSmart I have ever been to. At the entryway they had displayed small posters of pet care experts on duty. We were going to get fish for my mother who had just had a tank set up for the holidays. I keep fish myself and have a long history of working with marine science. This store had apparently had a recent difficulty with cloudiness in the water but the expert assigned to that work was there that day. During the 45 minutes were in the store she successfully cleared up the problem. Impressive to say the least. She expertly answered questions about the fish on sale and I saw, for the first time, a Clown Plecostomus. I am amazed by this creature as, unlike other Plecostomus, it moves along the bottom with its fins as if it is walking. A treasure to behold and learn about! They had a new line of packaged live plants that I had never seen before as well. Just open the pack, wash off some gel and plant. No fuss, no muss, no snails and no introduced diseases! PetSmart really makes the grade. Their birds were few but of those they had only one seemed a little under the weather. Their small rodents like gerbils and hamsters were all in good shape, active and priced right. They have a full line of pet food for nearly every animal you may wish to keep and it was all freshly stocked. What a pleasure to visit this PetSmart! read more

Our Great Dane puppy completed 3 levels of training with Kaylee in Morehead City and learned so much...we did too! Kaylee is a fantastic instructor and she obviously loves animals, especially dogs! I would highly recommend training classes with Kaylee!!! read more

Den of thieves and crooks. When you return items they insist on giving you a PetSmart "merchandise gift card" rather than refunding the amount to your original purchase credit card. The give you a used gift card with the PIN already scratched off on the backside, and it will also have a ZERO balance on it. The balance for this shady "merchandise credit" gift card cannot be checked online or by phone. These fraudulent managers/employees know this and hence take advantage. Whenever they give you this "merch card" be sure to always ask for a printed receipt that shows the available balance on it. The cashier will then panic/freeze because she knows it's an ongoing well-established con at this PetSmart location. read more

First off, they got a three because the staff was nice. I was second in a long line for grooming and was told that I had to wait until they checked all the other dogs in before me because I have a pug, short nosed dog. She said that they were running behind, first appointment on the day, and they couldn't kennel her. I saw the staff coming in at a few minutes before 10. With frustration mounting due to their inability to get there in enough time to take care of customers a worker came out and signed me in in the waiting area! In the three days we were in town we were in this particular store 2 times and both times the floor was a mess, the same poop stain was in front of the benches in back both times. We all love our pets; therefore DO NOT take them to this facility (it is definitely not a salon). It is difficult to find a good even acceptable groomer these days (Covid era). Our groomer is in Raleigh but we are in Beaufort during the holidays so against my better judgement (based upon the horrible stories I had read/heard regarding Petsmart) I made an appt. As I was checking in, I watched one of the groomers working on a beautiful pup. The poor dog was shaking the entire time I stood there (~15 mins). Kelsey, the check-in staff member was beyond rude. My mere presence seemed to annoy her. After checking me in, she grabbed her belongings & walked out. I heard her tell other staff it was time for her to leave. I must have delayed her by 2-3 minutes??? The floor was filthy. After watching the pup being groomed in front of me continue to shake, I decided there was no way I would leave my dog there for 3-4 hours. That's how long I was told it would take for grooming. My pup weighs 7 lbs; she is an indoor dog - no dirt to be found on her at all. I clean her daily. I wanted a bath & trim but no "freakin" way would I EVER leave her at this place. They are to grooming what puppy mills are to breeders. FIND ANOTHER BUSINESS. If I could rate this business less than one star, it would be done. read more

This has been my favorite grooming salon for my white toy poodle, Bodie, since the store opened. Once, he went to a different local groomer when we were vacationing and it was sub-par so back to Petsmart for the perfect groom! Bodie is happy to go and loves his groomer that specializes in the traditional, challenging lamb cut with foot and tail pom poms. He looks just like the photos in dog books. The service and atmosphere for my poodle couldn't be better. And, Bodie practically jumps in their arms with joy when I leave him. I know he is loved and pampered at Petsmart! read more

Disclaimer: This review is just for the grooming services. I called the Tuesday before Father's Day to make my Australian Shepherd a grooming appointment. I requested first available since I was only offered Father's Day Sunday. I arrived ten minutes before the store opened for grooming and vet appointments. One of the men cleaning the floors let us in after I let them know I had an appointment. The Banfield vet department was there and open taking their first appointments, the grooming department was not, nobody to be found, door locked, lights off. I should have left at this point. My dog began to get anxious since there were two men cleaning the floors, I tried to walk him around right in front of the door with no luck of spotting a grooming employee. I did this for about ten minutes, then, as I walked him down a isle to avoid the cleaners again, two women who walked in with the grooming employee cut me in line. I ended up waiting and walking around to avoid causing my dog any other anxiousness since he had not been to this Petsmart before. My 8:00 appointment, I was finally able to talk to an employee at 8:21. I spoke with the grooming employee and she let me know about two hours. I handed her my shampoo that I requested they wash my dog in and that my dogs nails be grinder, not cut. Fast forward over two hours and I call, they say my dog is almost done, maybe ten more minutes. I arrive to hear my dog screaming and I hide behind a isle to find them being VERY rough with my dog on the table. My husband was with me when I picked our dog up. I walk in to pick up, they girls acted very irritated that my dog didn't allow them to grind his nails. I find that odd since the groomers we take them to in Cary (Woofgang Bakery) has never had a problem grinding his nails.... I believe NONE of the employees in there want to be there, care to work, and rough house the dogs. When I returned to pick up there were four dogs that I could see, there were four employees, and ONE dog was being attended to while the other three sat and gossiped, played on their phone, and clearly were milking the clock. When I was given my bottle of shampoo back, it was OVER half empty. When I came in I had marked the bottle and the girl just looked at me and said in a smart manner 'its all his hair'.... I couldn't say another word. They either put WAY too much shampoo on the dog, wasted it, knocked it over, or used it on other dogs. Either way, it was a ridiculous amount of shampoo. I paid $36.99 to have my dog groomed. You'll find based not he website that they are supposed to shave the sanitary areas, scissor trim the paws, and shave the pads of the feet. The sanitary areas were halfway done, very sloppy, uneven, and nothing done to the paws. The grinding was going to be an additional $15, which they were not 'able' to do. So had I paid for what I came in there for, I would've spent $51, ironic because I pay $50 at a custom salon that cares, doesn't shut the dogs in a cage, listens to the customer, is on time, and doesn't waste shampoo. Save your money folks and take your dog somewhere else to be groomed that care. read more

The Walmart of pet stores. Uninformed and basically useless employees. Last time I was there the guy who was at the register put one bottle of shampoo into a plastic bag. I kindly said I didn't want to waste the bag and would just carry it. He proceeds to take the bottle out, handed it to me and threw the plastic bag into the trash can. Bad form! read more

Took my dog to his scheduled appointment, after almost a year and a half maybe more of going to this pet smart with the same groomer. I get told after already driving 30 min to his appointment that they have to decline service because my 15 pound shih tzu is too much to manage so it requires two people. Again, almost 2 years of getting hair cuts for my dog and now it is too much of an issue. They stated they tried to call me so they didn't "waste my time" but I received no call and they have never told me about an issue causing him to be refused a hair cut. My dogs hair grows long in front of his eyes , so it requires regular trimming and they stated the issue is he doesn't like face being trimmed. The reason I take my dog to a groomer instead of doing his hair myself is because you would expect a trained professional would be properly equipped to handle something as simple as trimming a shih tzu's hair. But apparently Lorie is not, so I will not be taking my dog there anymore. & I recommend anyone who has a dog that needs actual grooming and not just a bath and brushing do the same. read more

i will never take my pet here again. i took my chihuahua in for a nail grinding and the groomer was not friendly or welcoming to me or my dog. when she went to grind his nails she put the leash in a position that it was almost choking him when she finally noticed he was scared to death and was standoffish about letting her cut his nails. with that being said she was also twisting him in ways that i felt was not safe considering his size. she also didn't fully grind his nails as others once have. his nails were uneven and looked horrible. i do not recommend taking your dog here for any type of "grooming" service. read more

Do not take your dog here for grooming or a bath. We dropped our lab off for a bath. Picked her up and noticed blood on the seats of our SUV. There was a gash on the pad of her foot. Nothing was said about this in her report card when we picked up; however, upon calling and asking to speak to the store manager, the "salon manager" told us that our dog "did not enjoy having her nails trimmed", I wouldn't either if my foot was sliced open. This place is a joke, another man was in there complaining that his dog had red spots on her belly. We will not be returning! Would gladly attach a picture if I could figure it out. read more
