Decent service, good menu variety but really let down by a poor quality meal. From the outside, the newly renovated and renamed "Beach Hotel" at Seaford has a few changes to the once slightly run down hotel. Positioned on the corner of Griffiths Drive and Commercial Road, this dining spot is right near the Seaford Shopping Centre. Although the exterior has noticeably been updated, the real magic however is in the interior of the building. The inside looks great. Tables and furniture are quite modern, as is the design of the dining spaces around the restaurant. One stand out is the bar, which is well lit and is now more easily accessible. Drinks prices are slightly on the higher side however are not unreasonable. Staff are non-intrusive yet still reasonably attentive. Even on a packed night, the waiting time was acceptable and the waitresses did a good job of clearing and organising the table. All tables had complimentary bread from an award winning bakery in Aldinga. The bread was very nice and really got my hopes up for enjoying a good dinner. Unfortunately, my meal did not live up to what I had hoped. Everyone apart from myself ordered chicken schnitzels. I was very tempted to do the same however found something on the menu that caught my eye. At $22, for a main - slightly more than the schnitzel - was the Iman Valley chicken stuffed with apricots, Woodside Brie and oregano served with potato gratin and broccolini. Maybe I should have just stuck with a chicken schnitzel with pepper gravy rather than trying for something more gourmet and fancy. Whilst the chicken dish certainly did look good, it had some decent elements and some very poor elements. The chicken was a big let down. It was very fatty. In terms of seasoning it was ok and the sauce that it was served in was done well, but finding large lumps of fat inside the chicken was not a pleasant experience. I couldn't even taste the brie in the chicken either. As for the apricots, this made the dish less enjoyable. Firstly, you couldn't get any flavour from them. They tasted of nothing. Secondly, they were very hard. They were so hard that they really didn't match the chicken that well. On the plus side the potato gratin was done well and had good flavour. It wasn't overcooked and went well with the broccolini. After having a few bites of a schnitzel from my family's dishes, I can definitely say that their schnitzels are good. Maybe stick to the classic range rather than going for something fancy.

The service is good but don't bother with the Pork Belly, over cooked meat and soft crackling

The theme is based on the tale of the flying trunk. The cocktails are delicious. We had the salted caramel star and the so flute. I loved the little pretzel star in the salted caramel. They also serve tapas food. They also serve tapas food. We had the pan fried gnocchi with artichokes, and the buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes. Mmm! The prices are pretty reasonable as well. The cocktails are $17 - $20. The tapas is under $15. We also had a lovely conversation with the owner evi about the design of the place. I'd love to come back again on my way home from workies :) Nothing much more I can add to what Karen F had commented, both Adam & Evi are great hosts. Very attentive and explained both the cocktails and food very well and enticed us into trying them. Enjoyable evening.

I have only been here for a wine and cocktail so far but this place really adds to the quirky little shops, bakeries and cafes that are popping up on KWR! Fast and friendly service, combined with some unique concoctions and names of cocktails means you will spend most of your time there deciding which cocktail you'll get when you next return. The Elephant Espress is on my list to try next time. If you are like my other half though and think cocktail is for cordial drinkers then never fear - the wine and beer list is for quoffers and swirlers alike. These guys take their booze seriously and I am definitely signing up for one of their monthly "tasting flight masterclasses" in the future.

We ordered steak _well done, no blood_ and had to send it back 3 times. Each time it came out raw with blood running across the plate. Staff shrugged and said "steak is cooked with blood coming out, it's natural". Hygiene is non-existent - 0/10. The waitress had her fingers all over the food when she brought the plate out. After all the back-and-forth to the kitchen, we both got sick. It genuinely felt like something was done to the food. The staff stand around gossiping about customers loud enough for everyone to hear. When we raised the issues politely, we were treated like rubbish. To top it off, I received an aggressive, insulting email from the manager/owner saying we are no longer welcome, just for complaining about raw food and poor hygiene. *Food*: Undercooked, unsafe *Service*: Rude, unprofessional, gossipy *Hygiene*: Disgusting - staff touching food *Management*: Hostile and unaccountable Avoid at all costs. Made us sick and then banned us for speaking up.

They also have quite a decent sized beer garden, but we ended up spending most of our time in the front bar, which was quiet, and really nice as well.
