I've used these people several times in the past and just recently for a smog on my Honda. Friendly, honest. fast and reasonable what more could you ask for! I highly recommend this business. read more

My family and I have been loyal to a family friend's auto shop but fortunately, he retired but we were left without someone honest and caring to tend to our many cars... Until now! Jon and his staff are funny, hard working and very caring. I've been taken advantage of at a lot of auto shops (like many others too) and have always felt stressed out/dreading going to auto shops. Beach Front Auto is my new place to go and I will recommend everyone I know about them. They'll make time for you and treat you like one of their own. I appreciate honesty and hard work, especially when it comes to the up keep and maintenance of our vehicles. read more

Really well rounded facility. Fast, and not superficially nice. They provided great care and even added supplement product to my car, (that I provided). read more

Needed a quick smog on two vehicles and they were quick and very reasonable. Nice 'locals' to talk with and they knew what they were talking about. read more

Tried to do a review on Goggle+ but it was too much trouble, more people see things on Yelp, but anyway I get my car serviced at beachfront they are so friendly and curtious. There work is always on time and it doesn't cost an arm and leg. All in all it's a good place to do business. read more

Staff seems to be genuinely friendly and knowledgeable. Price is reasonable as well. I'll definitely come back.

Great service and very friendly staff. Quick service on my smog inspection. Will recommend it to my friends and family.

Terrible customer service and quality of job I drop my car off at eight in the morning I had to call him around 230 to hear of what's going on with my car so I'm on hold for 10 minutes and then they finally get on the phone with me and say oh sorry we forgot that you were on hold they tell me that I need a thermostat fixed and it's gonna cost me $312 I went online and check how much it should be it said it should only be $150 so the doubled the price on me and then when I went to pay the 312 the guy tried to tack on another 25 doscumbags and they're ripping people off and no one should ever go there And just to add on to the problem a month later I go to a new mechanic (my dads) and they tell me that whoever put this thermostat in cracked the housing so it's gunna cost me more I repeat do not go to this crooked mechanics they only want your money so they'll just make more problems then help you They should just stick to smog checks read more

What once was a honest small town shop turned into a money hungry rip off, I had been taking my cars here for smogs for years and out of no where they acted as if I was dumb and tried to tell me I had a burnt valve and they would do the work, my friend came over and put a distributor on it, problem solved, real nice place to take grandma they will make 3 house payments off her car......... read more

My new smog guys! I was in and out in 20 minutes just like they said. And the car passed. Highly rcommend this place.

I took both my cars here a while back for an oil change and had the worst experience ever. They use to be amazing. I don't know what happened but they have completely went down hill. They couldn't get one of my cars (bmw) up and kept on banging it until they finally got it on the lift. I asked what was going on and taking so long. Then two young kids came in and went out into the garage. These two young kids prob 16 if not younger moved both my cars out to the parking lot when they were done. A couple days later I went to drive the bmw and the tire signal came on. These are newer run flat tires. Thanks to the incompetent people at this place I had to replace them. They wouldn't take the blame even though I know they did the damage. Don't take your car here! After going here for more than 20 years we are done! read more

We bring both of our vehicles here for regular scheduled maintenance and anything that isn't a warranty-covered issue covered by our vehicle manufacturers and have always received exceptional service and great work. The shop is always busy, but I don't find that to be a bad thing; who doesn't want to be busy? Even in the midst of their busyness, they're still able to give us their full attention and stay efficient. Cora, the front desk manager, is always knowledgeable and helpful; but beyond that, she has taken the time to educate herself and get certified so she can provide the most accurate information and diagnosis over the phone, which has also helped us in not having to bring a vehicle in because it was an easy fix. It's hard to find a business - especially when it comes to vehicle maintenance - that doesn't try to turn nothing into something just for money. We will continue to come back over and over again for our scheduled vehicle maintenance as their quality of work and customer service far exceeds any corporate place we have been to. Honesty can really go a long way in this industry and you will find that at Beachfront Auto. read more

We rolled in here New Year's Day after our car died on the freeway, despite most parts shops being closed they did everything they could to get us back on the road. Cora even offered some of her lunch to us. Very helpful and friendly people read more

Was driving back to LA from school up north and my serpentine belt melted the tensioner and my trucks power steering locked up on me. Was able to pull it off the freeway into Beach Front Auto and they got me out of there within the hour. Jon was super helpful and walked me through what happened. Highly recommend this place to any locals or anyone having car troubles in the area. read more

Super quick service. Got my car smogged, was there a total of maybe 25 minutes and was done before I knew it. They were very friendly and will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. read more

This place is amazing! Have been using them for many years for all car maintenance and the few repairs that our Toyotas need. Recently 6 warning lights came up on the dash so we brought it in. They called and listed the problems diagnostics noted and we cleared them to do the repairs. They called back a few minutes later and noted that 2 of the repairs were recalls and 1 was included under the warranty (hybrid battery has 10 year 150,000 mile warranty) and said that we should take it to Toyota as all of this work would be completed for free. Can't tell you how much this kind of honesty from a Car Repair shop is appreciated!!! How many businesses would send business away like that? They charged for the diagnostics only. Needless to say we will continue to use Beach Front Auto Service as our ONLY car manitenance & repair place!!! read more

The worst!!!!! I don't know what happened to these guys, did the old man that owned it years ago pass away? I used to go there for many years but now they are dishonest, the worst rip off I've encountered in a long, long time. STAY AWAY FROM BEACHFRONT AUTO!!!!!!!!!! read more

Have been taking my 4Runner here for several years. Brent, the owner, and staff always seemed cordial and seemed to do the maintenance without any follow up trips back to the shop. Recently I brought my SUV in for service and needed a smog cert. I explained I had an important meeting in the bay area and was leaving at 4am the next morning. The vehicle was running perfectly - I just wanted to make sure I would have no problems. While driving home the evening before it ran ok but seemed to be lacking power. Since I picked it up at closing time I did not have the time to go back prior to my departure the next morning. The next morning I left at 4am as scheduled. About halfway up Cuesta grade there was a significant power loss such that I thought I may not make it to the top. It was obvious that not all cylinders were firing. While driving through Atascadero I called and left a message at Beach Front indicating there was obviously a problem. I wanted to put them on notice since I had barely driven the 4Runner since they had been under the hood. I was able to complete my trip up to the bay area and back, barely, running on at the most 5 of the 6 cylinders. The engine light came on and my fuel consumption was far worse than usual. The rich fuel on the non firing cylinder getting into the exhaust was obviously not doing the oxygen sensors or the cat converters any good either. When I returned home I checked through the engine compartment and determined one of the ignition wires was damaged near the plug. The wires were at most 2 years old. I went to Toyota, bought an oem set of wires, and installed them myself. Where was Brent with all this? Good question. Several days went by and I received no return phone call from the shop. Later in the week I called the shop and got Brent on the phone since I was still very irritated by the experience. While it was possible what happened was a coincidence I know enough about cars to conclude it was unlikely. The probability was there was linkage between something they did under the hood and the damaged ignition wire. I explained what happened to Brent. He said they did not touch any of the wires or plugs. I believe the tech was rough under the hood and damaged what was otherwise a relatively new set of wires. There was no apology, no offer to split incremental gas cost, or the slightest recognition from him that driving 500 miles on 5 cylinders must have been a real pain. Needless to say I think the "service" and response to the problem here was something less than gold star. Not sure why the ratings on Yelp are so good given my experience. I will not be back. read more

I went into the shop yesterday right when they were walking out the door at the end of the day desperate to get a smog done on my truck that I had just bought from a friend. I was initially bummed out because I knew they were closing up but when the girl behind the counter asked what I needed she went out of her way to help me and got the smog tech over to check out my truck even though he could of easily said no. They both were so very nice and willing to do anything for me to help me out. I highly recommend Beach Front Auto Service to anyone needing anything done on there vehicle. read more
