Went to get smogged, truck was driving fine when we dropped it off. Didn't pass smog, so they said they would look into it. They called us and said it would cost $8000.00 to fix it to pass the smog. Said no, we will pick it up. The truck was barely able to drive 1 mile to another mechanic. These people had taken one of spark plugs out and didn't put it back in straight and so it blew out. Truck is now totaled. Went back to talk to them and the mechanic turned and walked away, wouldn't even discuss what happened with us. BEWARE OF THIS SHOP. Will not recommend this place to anybody. read more

We were visiting Pismo Beach when our coolant reservoir began to leak. We found Beach Front thru a recommendation and we're very pleased with their service and communication. This is a local, family owned operation and it showed. Jessica was responsive and kind and squeezed us in. John, the owner, explained the complications, the price and could not guarantee he could do it in time. His crew worked overtime to get it done, and they did. We were impressed and super grateful. And such nice people too!! Thank you guys!!! read more

My 1991 volvo needed to be smoged they fast and helpful I will go if ever need work done . thanks for your help

Fairly new to the central coast... was referred by 76 station since they are a Star smog station... Was very grateful they got me in and done right away... Highly recommend! read more

I've been to Beach Front Auto Service before and now needed a smog check so I just stopped by early to see if they could work me in. Not only did they work me in and do a terrific job, they were friendly, funny, and the time sped by. Wonderful to have such a class act like Beach Front Auto Service here in Oceano! read more

Quick friendly and to the point. One of the few capable of servicing my 2006 Sprinter Diesel

This place is a RIP-OFF. My wife took our vehicle in yesterday for an oil change and smog check. The cost of the smog check was in line with what other places charge, but that cost is regulated. Here's the what they charged her for an oil change: $102.20 for oil + $15.86 for the filter + $40.00 labor + $5.00 hazmat + $8.56 tax. That's $171.62 for a syn blend oil change. You be the judge. Is this a rip-off? read more

Absolutely amazing experience every time from simple mechanic work to smog they're always down to earth letting you know what the next step to do is, very understanding with every situation, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

My friend and I came down here for a couple days we had driven on the beach In my volkwagon beetle not a smart move my car was really julting really bad after coming off beach. A police officer helped to to the nearest off ramp and wound up at this place. I was pretty upset because I don't know anything about cars and they sprayed all the sand from around my tires and put two new metal ring things over a couple things under my hood. I was so relieved when I took it for a test run and was ok. They were very nice and didn't charge me, we didn't come with very much money and am very grateful to them :) thanks guys! read more

This place is not family owned or operated. I went to get a Smog check. When arriving they were happy to give me the run down on how the smog check works. After 5 min they come to me and ask if I had any work done to the car. I said no. They only thing I did was change my battery. She then starts stating that oh I wish you told me that earlier, would have told you to drive more. Me, being like any other customer who would not know that they have to drive a while, over 100 miles (according to the customer service person.) In order for the smog machine to work. I apologized and asked ok I will do that and bring it back. She then asks how am I going to pay for it. I was pay for what? In order for me to leave with my car and not get the service I had to pay $50. These guys are rude and will steal your money. WARNING DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE AS THEY FAMILY THAT WAS RUNNING IT SOLD IT TO THESE NEW PEOPLE WHO ARE DESTORYING THE BUSINESS. read more

Been using Beachfront for over a decade now, they're an honest bunch and are competivily priced. They have a new facility now which looks to be about three times bigger and I think they have a few more technicians which gets me in and out more quickly, I appreciate that. Headed over there now to smog my '06 Rav 4 read more

I learned to really trust these guys after they showed me exactly why my smog check did not work, and how to fix it. I fixed it, then it passed! Good work. read more

I'm a lifelong resident of the 5-cities. In the past I've been to other shops mainly due to location. But for the last 5 years my family and I have been brining all of our vehicles here. We live in Nipomo, yet drive or have had our vehicles towed to Beachfront. Why, it's the customer service! I love where I live and it's nice to know the staff as neighbors and friends. There's really a sense of community and a willingness to resolve problems with cost effective alternatives. I've experienced this myself on many occasions. My daily driver I bought used with a warranty. Recently the warranty company were dragging their feet in regards to a needed repair. Cora at the front counter handled everything and expedited the whole process with my reluctant warranty company. Such a relief! The mechanics were able to replace the worn parts with expert efficiency and cleanliness!!! I won't go anywhere else! read more

The worst customer service, they have had my company vehicle for months and have not completed the work. They also never return phone calls.

Mediocre mechanics, can't handle anything more than simple task such as oil changes. Don't even waste your time, if they can handle what it is you need done, then so can you. read more

Made appointment for smog got in and out quick. Also found a radiator hose that needs to be replaced. Very honest and knowledgeable machinics. read more

Brought my car in for a simple smog check. They told me it didn't pass for multiple reasons and couldn't offer any repair help. They told me they work on my type of vehicle before I brought it in BUT I guess that changed after. A complete waste of $50. read more

Our van broke down while on our vacation and Beach Front Auto was recommended to us. John and Jessica were very professional and congenial. They explained the timeframe, what was needed and were reasonable. You can't go wrong there! read more

I've had my 1996 Ford F-250 Diesel since 1998, and have been very picky about service (I have every service record since 1998). I called the local Ford dealer, who suggested Beach Front, since dealers really don't work on "legacy" vehicles. In addition to regular service, I had a problem with the speedometer...since 2016. Two previous good places could not sort it out. Beach Front went way beyond expectations and diagnosed the issue. Turned out to be an obscure problem with the ABS box. These are the rare individuals who go way beyond replacing parts until something happens. I would not hesitate to recommend Beach Front to anyone who really cares about their vehicles. They are the real deal. read more

Being here before and we can't say enough about customer service and positive attitude. Great job Guys. You are appreciate it.

If you feel you feel like being talked down to like your an idiot because you do no know a lot about cars, then this is the place for you! I made an appointment with the man at the front desk, and he was patronizing to me the entire time we has asking me questions. I called back and canceled after Ieft, again he was rude in his response. Supreme auto, hopefully yor work is better than your customer service. Perhaps if I were a man you would have treated me respectfully. read more

Highly recommend! I had high hopes after reading the previous reviews and wasn't let down. The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and professional. I appreciated them looking out for my personal needs rather than treating me like just another customer and squeezing out every dime I have. They were honest and thorough with my 60,000 mile service. It appeared other customers were also having a positive experience, many were returning for required smog checks and routine repairs. Looking forward to returning in 5,000 miles! read more

Took my car here because it didn't pass smog. Then they sniffed, and diagnosed that my airflow sensor needed to be replaced. They quoted $1200 just for the part. I had a mechanic with 60 years of VW experience located and shipped me the part, which took a few weeks. It was $400, minus $100 core charge, and $40 to switch out (takes 10 minutes), which a local VW mechanic installed. Went back to Beach Front, and failed again, and they told me that it was now running too lean. Wanted more money to diagnose again. What?!?!?! When I questioned as to how and why, it was like having a "Who's on first?" conversation. And when I asked how many more times they were going to put me through it, he took my questions as insults and said we were done. So I towed it to my mechanic in North Hollywood, who looked at their paperwork, and laughed, telling me they didn't know what they were doing, and was pointing out flaws with their process. Anywho, it passed with no problems from my old school VW mechanic, who only works on VW's. And he knows his stuff, unlike these condescending misogynists. read more

Cora offers amazing service! She is knowledgeable and sweet at the same time. They treat you like family here and I never feel taken advantage of or like they're charging more than they're worth. I have never been so satisfied with an auto shop before... in fact I've never taken the time to review one because there is rarely anything nice to say. You won't be disappointed. read more

Chose them for my smog inspection based on their Yelp rating. Glad I did! Friendly, entertaining staff, and I was wrapped up and out the door 15 minutes after my appointment time. Thanks guys! read more

Every time I go in I am please with the great attitude and friendly service. The last appointment I had was for a smog, the service was so quick I thought there was something wrong! But the everything turned out great and I will make sure to come back with my other vehicles! read more

Seriously amazing experience at Beach Front. I won't take my car anywhere else. Every interaction with their staff was pleasant, from a phone call to make the appointment to bringing in the car with all five of my children. They were very family friendly, courteous the entire time, and I watched them go out of their way to help other customers as well. My smog check was quick and my kids had a great time coloring and playing in their waiting area. I will definitely recommend them to my friends and family! Best smog experience I've had! read more

We are eternally grateful to the staff at Beach Front Auto. Our RV broke down on the 101 while on a trip from Arizona to San Jose. Our coach got towed to them at a crazy hour of the morning. They took our RV in, did the required work, and had us back on the road within a few hours. The staff there is nothing short of amazing. Very accommodating. Cora even called us a week later to make sure we were doing ok. I'm glad to know we have friends on the road! Thanks a million! read more

very friendly and nice. took my car there to get a smog test. will go back for other vehicle service.

I needed my old prius smogged and they got me in and out quicker than I could eat lunch. Not only that, they quickly spotted a problem that would have prevented a successful smog, and were able to fix it and get me back on the road. The only thing keeping me from adding another star is the price. read more

Nice business people. Did the job great. I felt good with them cuz they didn't take advantage of my 73 year old mother and tell her she had a million things wrong. They were honest and told her things that will eventually go wrong and to check back on certain things in about a year. We need more businesses that are honest like this. read more

Terrible, shady, and a total Ripoff: $100 to diagnose a loose gas cap??!?!

We highly recommend Beachfront Auto Service. Their shop is efficient and excellent. Their reputation is well earned and good. Today we went to get the car smogged and was surprised at how quickly Val was able to get us in and how fast Brent got us out and through the smog exam! One more plus is how the customer lounge is clean and comfortable. Even my very active toddler was happy as he played with the box of kids toys! I have also had maintenance done there and had the same excellent experience: fast and at a very good price! read more

Came in to get a smog check. We came in without an appointment and there was a very minimal wait. While doing my smog check they also noticed a few other maintenance items that may need to be done soon. The staff was very friendly, the service was quick and thorough, and the price was right! Ohh this place is STAR smog certified FYI. read more
