This place is a RIP-OFF. My wife took our vehicle in yesterday for an oil change and smog check. The cost of the smog check was in line with what other places charge, but that cost is regulated. Here's the what they charged her for an oil change: $102.20 for oil + $15.86 for the filter + $40.00 labor + $5.00 hazmat + $8.56 tax. That's $171.62 for a syn blend oil change. You be the judge. This place is not family owned or operated. I went to get a Smog check. When arriving they were happy to give me the run down on how the smog check works. After 5 min they come to me and ask if I had any work done to the car. I said no. They only thing I did was change my battery. She then starts stating that oh I wish you told me that earlier, would have told you to drive more. Me, being like any other customer who would not know that they have to drive a while, over 100 miles (according to the customer service person.) In order for the smog machine to work. I apologized and asked ok I will do that and bring it back. She then asks how am I going to pay for it. I was pay for what? In order for me to leave with my car and not get the service I had to pay $50. These guys are rude and will steal your money. WARNING DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE AS THEY FAMILY THAT WAS RUNNING IT SOLD IT TO THESE NEW PEOPLE WHO ARE DESTORYING THE BUSINESS. read more

They have a new facility now which looks to be about three times bigger and I think they have a few more technicians which gets me in and out more quickly, I appreciate that. My friend and I came down here for a couple days we had driven on the beach In my volkwagon beetle not a smart move my car was really julting really bad after coming off beach. A police officer helped to to the nearest off ramp and wound up at this place. I was pretty upset because I don't know anything about cars and they sprayed all the sand from around my tires and put two new metal ring things over a couple things under my hood. I was so relieved when I took it for a test run and was ok. They were very nice and didn't charge me, we didn't come with very much money and am very grateful to them :) thanks guys! read more

Brought my car in for a simple smog check. They told me it didn't pass for multiple reasons and couldn't offer any repair help. They told me they work on my type of vehicle before I brought it in BUT I guess that changed after. A complete waste of $50. read more

I'm a lifelong resident of the 5-cities. In the past I've been to other shops mainly due to location. But for the last 5 years my family and I have been brining all of our vehicles here. We live in Nipomo, yet drive or have had our vehicles towed to Beachfront. Why, it's the customer service! I love where I live and it's nice to know the staff as neighbors and friends. There's really a sense of community and a willingness to resolve problems with cost effective alternatives. I've experienced this myself on many occasions. My daily driver I bought used with a warranty. Recently the warranty company were dragging their feet in regards to a needed repair. Cora at the front counter handled everything and expedited the whole process with my reluctant warranty company. Such a relief! I've had my 1996 Ford F-250 Diesel since 1998, and have been very picky about service (I have every service record since 1998). I called the local Ford dealer, who suggested Beach Front, since dealers really don't work on "legacy" vehicles. In addition to regular service, I had a problem with the speedometer...since 2016. Two previous good places could not sort it out. Beach Front went way beyond expectations and diagnosed the issue. Turned out to be an obscure problem with the ABS box. These are the rare individuals who go way beyond replacing parts until something happens. I would not hesitate to recommend Beach Front to anyone who really cares about their vehicles. Highly recommend! I had high hopes after reading the previous reviews and wasn't let down. The staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and professional. I appreciated them looking out for my personal needs rather than treating me like just another customer and squeezing out every dime I have. They were honest and thorough with my 60,000 mile service. Took my car here because it didn't pass smog. Then they sniffed, and diagnosed that my airflow sensor needed to be replaced. They quoted $1200 just for the part. I had a mechanic with 60 years of VW experience located and shipped me the part, which took a few weeks. It was $400, minus $100 core charge, and $40 to switch out (takes 10 minutes), which a local VW mechanic installed. Went back to Beach Front, and failed again, and they told me that it was now running too lean. Wanted more money to diagnose again. What?!?!?! When I questioned as to how and why, it was like having a "Who's on first?" conversation. And when I asked how many more times they were going to put me through it, he took my questions as insults and said we were done. So I towed it to my mechanic in North Hollywood, who looked at their paperwork, and laughed, telling me they didn't know what they were doing, and was pointing out flaws with their process. Anywho, it passed with no problems from my old school VW mechanic, who only works on VW's. And he knows his stuff, unlike these condescending misogynists. read more

We are eternally grateful to the staff at Beach Front Auto. Our RV broke down on the 101 while on a trip from Arizona to San Jose. Our coach got towed to them at a crazy hour of the morning. Today we went to get the car smogged and was surprised at how quickly Val was able to get us in and how fast Brent got us out and through the smog exam! Came in to get a smog check. We came in without an appointment and there was a very minimal wait. While doing my smog check they also noticed a few other maintenance items that may need to be done soon. The staff was very friendly, the service was quick and thorough, and the price was right! Terrible customer service and quality of job I drop my car off at eight in the morning I had to call him around 230 to hear of what's going on with my car so I'm on hold for 10 minutes and then they finally get on the phone with me and say oh sorry we forgot that you were on hold they tell me that I need a thermostat fixed and it's gonna cost me $312 I went online and check how much it should be it said it should only be $150 so the doubled the price on me and then when I went to pay the 312 the guy tried to tack on another 25 doscumbags and they're ripping people off and no one should ever go there And just to add on to the problem a month later I go to a new mechanic (my dads) and they tell me that whoever put this thermostat in cracked the housing so it's gunna cost me more I repeat do not go to this crooked mechanics they only want your money so they'll just make more problems then help you They should just stick to smog checks read more
