They recommended a great coffee shop where we could wait, and one of the guys worked through his lunch to get us back on the road. On 02/05/26 I took my van in for an oil change. I expected the fee that is listed on a big screen…read morein the waiting room. + oil. I got the oil change due to it being in storage 6 months. It did not need a new filter because I had put one in at the previous oil change and then drove it for only 3 months before storing it again! They not only charged me for a filter, they did a Maintenance Service on it , which included rotating the tires. I did not ask them to do this, nor was it on the pre-service agreement. The bill came to $150.52! Later, I spoke to the mechanic at a dealership regarding another car, and he said that this was ILLEGAL. He also told me that Beach Front Auto "has a reputation". I wish I had known this before taking another car there for a smog. I took another car there for a smog. It "failed" the smog test, at Beach Front Auto, due to an engine light being on. They did NOT attempt to do the oil change seeing that light on, so how could it have failed the test?! -BUT that did not stop them from charging me for a "failed" oil change of $49.00 AND a "diagnostic evaluation" of $148.00 wherein all they did was hook up the hand-held device and it provided 4 codes. THAT'S NOT diagnostic. A diagnosis would be the reason behind the codes. The woman at the desk, who I assume is one of the owners, said there will be extra to find out what the codes even mean. When I took this car into the dealer, they saw only 1 code which was addressed and the car passed smog there. This is when I found out about the reputation of Beach Front Auto. Go at your own risk. These are crooks in my opinion.

They are kind and caring making sure all jobs are done correctly and everything is explained to the Customer. If something extra needs Work they always explain what it needs and the cost. Because of the care my car has received from the Souza's it is a car in excellent shape mechanically and also the interior still looks really good too! I don't know what the value would be from a dealership. I feel it is worth more than book value.

Finally dropped off on a Monday and he looked at car without starting itand said that I needed a new carburetor as he didnt like the edelbrock I had . He quoted me a price and I said okay. I called several days in a row as he had said would be overnight but by Friday I hadnt a call back. Called saturday and he wanted car out of shop and asked for cash. Price quoted for carburetor was 200 dollars more. What could I due but pay and get out. Car ran worse than when I brought it in. Later he told me he never drove it or dyno tubed it. Be aware if you bring in your classic car. Get a written quote and promise of work he will do. I would never be fooled again by his slick ads on radio.
