I took my 1959 Thunderbird to one of the local repair shops to get the brakes repaired, I was told by the Mechanic that there was nothing wrong with the brakes which I knew was incorrect especially if you like to stop at stop signs. my neighbor referred me to Curt at classic auto works, so I called to get an appointment and a woman named Sandy answered and seemed more knowledgeable than the mechanic at the other shop, to make a long story short Curt repaired my brake issue and now I'm enjoying driving my classic car. As mentioned by others, this is a business you need to do your homework on. The Ca. Bureau of Automotive Repair found them at fault for damages done to my vehicle. They had no shop insurance, My insurance had to pay for damages and try to recoup from them. The work done besides the damage was so poor it had to be redone at my expense. They did admit responsibility but did not pay for damages claiming they had no money or insurance. They have a history, do your homework. Cannot caution enough read more

I have been a repeat customer of Classic Auto Works for years now. If you own a precious classic car, this is absolutely the place to go. There is no doubt that they care about your car turning out the way you want it to be. I have relied on Curt and his shop to take care of four of my classic cars, but they do great work on the regular "run-of-the-mill" cars with equal care. When the Chevy dealer was basically telling us we'd have to scrap my wife's SUV because the front transfer case was not rebuildable or available, Curt found us a rebuilt and lifetime guaranteed part for $250. My truck has been at this shop for over a year now. Every time I go there, I hear that he is going to start on it 'tomorrow'. My daughter was in a serious accident 7 or 8 months ago, so I have zero time to hunt them down, but I sure would like it if they responded to my communication. I'd love a call that my '46 is ready to be picked up, and that all the agreed upon work was satisfactorily completed. Happy to amend this review when that happens. I had to get my car diagnosed because it quit running. They took me in immediately and gave me an answer the same day as to what the problem was. The staff is very courteous. And they gave me an honest answer when they let me know my car problem. And when I decided not to have the car repaired they let me keep my car on site till I made other arrangements to have it taken away. DO NOT GO TO CLASSIC AUTO WORKS!!! This shop will rip you off. If you have a classic car please don't go to this shop. I spent a lot of money to have my whole drive train replaced with all new performance parts for my classic car. All I wanted was to have my new parts installed correctly. Everything from the transmission back to the rearend. Not only did my brand new transmission blow out in the first week, they didn't even tighten all the bell housing bolts. Curt agreed to rebuild the transmission but now it still leaks fluid. The tail housing support bolt is completely stripped and now needs a helicoil. The transmission tail housing bushing is now leaking fluid onto the yoke which now according to another shop has way to much slop. The currie rearend is now leaking where they made a drain plug. They used teflon tape instead of a sealer... The list of thing goes on....I spent about 6 thousand on new parts and about 1500 on labor. All I expected was my top of the line parts to be installed correctly....If you care about your hard earned money then I suggest you find another shop. I now have to pay for another shop to fix there mistakes. I plan to tell everyone I know about this. read more
