I came to Toyworx for a 2nd opinion about a timing cover reseal suggested by Toyota of SLO priced at $2834.10 for my 2015 Prius. Daniel reported the "leak was a seep, seal should last another 10 years" (I learned such leaks are expected in Prius' timing cover.) My cost, out the door, was $32.63 to replace the dirty air filter. This is coming from a girl's whose family owned and ran a Chevy dealership for over 50 years. But when the parents got a divorce, Dad bought a Toyota. It became more and more difficult to bring it into the San Luis Toyota shop even though it's closer to home. My tire sensor read that a tire was flat, yet the tires were all correct. Wanted to charge me over $100 to run a diagnostics and replace the sensor. Only did Toyworx find that the spare tire did, in fact, need some air I would much rather support these guys than the dealership. Factory Trained specialists- They know their stuff, always courteous, reliable, and never do I feel like I'm getting the run around. Since they're only a few blocks away from where I visit family I decided to check them out since stupid me jammed a screwdriver into the bulb socket of a map light as I upgraded my lights to LED and blew out a fuse (whoops!) I had just passed Santa Maria on Hwy 101 going north to San Simeon coming from San Diego, and my '07 4-Runner started jerking, the engine and VSC lights came on. I had to pull over and find a place to immediately take my car in. I tried to look for a place that specializes in Toyotas and found ToyworX. I called and spoke to Daniel and he said they didn't have any availability till next Tuesday , but I told him that I'm from out of town just passing through and explained what the car was doing and he made an exception. Mind you, he was kind enough to accept my car not knowing what the job would entail. It could have been a major project, but luckily it just needed the spark plugs to be replaced. I can't believe I haven't posted a review yet, since I've been a happy customer of ToyWorx for about four years now. I'll start by saying my Dad started a foreign car repair shop in Colorado in 1953, and my brothers have carried on the business and are ASE mechanics. I've been raised with the philosophy of a quality independent shop and what it takes to create such a long-term successful business. When I relocated to the Central Coast, I needed a new mechanic and new shop. Yelp reviews brought me in for my first Smog Check, but Daniel, Joe, and the whole team are why I come back. They are solid, both in their high level of customer service and their expertise in Toyota and Lexus. For my well-loved Tacoma, they do regular oil changes plus a major service last year. When I needed new brakes, I happened to be talking with my master-mechanic brother about car repairs. When I relayed some comments Daniel had made (like don't let the tire store scare you into a full brake job immediately because your brakes are still safe for another couple months), my brother was impressed and said that is exactly what he would have done--honest feedback, no oversell, keeping safety in mind, and staying on top of what each car will be needing to avoid more costly repairs later. So, I took it to Big Brand Tire in SLO--never again (for several reasons).
