He could of made some money off me with an oil lèak but said to just be sure and checjk the oil pretty often. I'm new to the area so when my pick up stopped running I needed to find someone quick to diagnose and repair the problem. Thanks to the Yelp reviews and Rey's upbeat manner on the phone when I called, Rey got me in the very next day and determined I'd lost the timing belt. I also had a leaking and groaning power steering pump which led to replacement of the steering rack. Rey and his helper got my truck back to me within a couple days and at a very reasonable price for all the parts and labor. I was on vacation, driving through Pismo Beach, when my car started to act up, making me wonder if I could safely make it home. At lunch we asked our waiter, Juan, at Pismo Beach Fish and Chips, if he could recommend a good auto mechanic, and without hesitation he recommended Rey's Auto Express. We called Rey who told us to bring the car in right away. When we arrived, he immediately turned his attention to my car. Naturally, the car did not duplicate the problems I had been experiencing, but he took it out for a lengthy test drive, reviewed the Ford service bulletins, got under the car, and asked me specific questions about what I was experiencing with the car. Although he was unable to diagnose the problem, (which is hard to do when a car is behaving normally), he gave me confidence that I should be ok to drive the car home and that meant so much since Perry Ford's next service appointment wasn't for another 11 days! This generous, honest man made time for a vacationer passing through Pismo Beach, and gave me his valuable time and knowledge without asking for anything in return. Today my car made it safely home, 400 miles away, and I am still thinking about the kindness of this man who made time to assist a traveler who he would never see again. I first went to Rey's for a smog and, as soon as he opened my hood, he immediately noticed a small leak I had in my radiator. I couldn't figure out why I was having to refill my coolant cause the leak was so small, I couldn't find it myself. I didn't tell him about that issue, by the way. I have gone back to him for all my repairs ever since. He is a great mechanic and a great guy who stands behind his work. He gets repairs done quickly and is reasonably priced.
