OMG Ive been going to Millers at least the last 3 years if not more. My partner suggest I take my 2011 Honda odyssey. Which in late 2022 My engine lost all oil on a drive from SLO to San Diego. I had to get a engine rebuilt. From th a t experience I really wanted to take care of my Van. So, when I came back from SD in 2023 I went to Millers. Theyre honest, thorough and will keep costs at bay as much as they can. Ive been so pleased I am writing this recommendation. I really hate writing this review because my husband and I have used Miller's 76 for years, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make informed decisions. Before a cross-country road trip, I took my diesel truck in for an oil change and paid extra for a general inspection. Since it was a diesel, I specifically asked them to check the fuel filter as well. When they called to let me know the truck was ready, I was told everything looked great. A few days later, while driving about 70 mph near Kingman, Arizona, the engine suddenly died. I had the truck towed to the Chevrolet dealership, where they diagnosed a severely clogged fuel filter as the cause of the breakdown. While inspecting the vehicle, they also showed me the air filter, which was so old it had started to disintegrate. It was packed with leaves and debris and clearly had not been inspected recently. Thankfully, there doesn't appear to be any lasting damage to the truck. However, the breakdown cost me half a day of travel, an unexpected overnight stay in Kingman, a towing bill, and nearly $500 at the Chevrolet dealership to replace the filters and get me back on the road. I understand that one employee's oversight doesn't necessarily reflect an entire business. However, after specifically requesting these items be checked and then experiencing a breakdown caused by something that should have been caught, I've lost confidence in the service. If you use this shop, I would recommend double-checking any maintenance items that are supposed to have been inspected. read more

We had a flat tire near SLO around 5:30pm and changed into our spare tire. ALL the tire shops were closed by 6 at SLO and luckily we found Miller's 76 at Pismo which was still open. I called and the gentleman assured me that they will take care of my tire which needed to be patched. (Why is there a big piece of metal on highway 101?!?) Karston greeted us with a smile and took care of the tire. He also helped us installed it back to our car. He was very nice and friendly and his service was top notch! They gave me an estimate for 2 jobs at a very reasonable price that Home Motors wanted to charge me substantially more. They test drove my car before and after doing the work and reported to me the difference. Then...they even called me a few days later to follow up on how my car was running. I have a 2007 BMW 335i that needed brakes, suspension work, alignment, and a few other items. Veronica quoted me about $3500 for all the work. I had taken my car previously to a tire shop for a new set of tires. Their tech claimed I needed at least $3000 in repairs just for the brakes. When I learned that this station does brakes and suspension, I had them do a service to see what issues needed to be addressed. Veronica was able to diagnose what the issues were, explained the good, the bad, and the ugly of what needed to be done, and gave me a reasonable quote for the work. She mentioned that while the pads and rotors did need to be changed, I was able to drive safety for a bit till I had the money. Our rental hit a nail on the last night of our vacation, and we were staying in Pismo Beach, very far from home. After failing to fix it ourselves with a tire kit and thinking we'd be stressed and vehicle-less until the AM when we could tow it to a tire place, we discovered this nearby 76 still had a tech available at 8:30PM on a Saturday night. We hobbled the rental over, the tech patched our flat tire up, and we were on our way in 20 minutes with significantly less stressed. Very reasonably priced too! I wish I got his name, but the mechanic was very nice and efficient... highly recommend this place for repairs! read more

New staff will fail your smog if they think you don't know cars I've been coming here for years with the same older vehicle and never had them fraudulently fail smog to try to get you to spend money on repairs and a $110 retest, but they did that to me this time. They said my truck failed for the timing being off. I took it to my mechanic, and the timing was perfect. I took it to another smog shop, and not only did they say the timing was fine, but that item was not even on their printout. They said it was idling too low, at 400 rpm. It was idling at 900 when I brought it there and the next day. They did something to it during the test to reduce the idle. Even the printout shows that it was 624 at the low idle speed, not 400. read more

Smog Check - Fast, Friendly and Reasonable..... It was time for another Smog Check so I looked around at the possible choices in my area. Several posters on Yelp said they brought their cars to the 76 station across from California Fresh and were very happy with the result. In and out quickly and at a reasonable cost. I first called and was told an appointment isn't needed for a Smog Check. "Come in when you want. It usually takes less than 30 minutes". I arrived around 1130 AM on a Wednesday. They explained the process, I gave them some required information and was told it would be 20-30 minutes. About 10 minutes later, I got a call saying they found a nail in one of my front tires. "If we need to take it out and repair the tires, it will be an extra $18.50". I said please go ahead. 15 minutes later, they called to say nothing was punctured by the nail so they left it alone. I agreed. After a total of 25 minutes from the moment I drove in, the car was ready. I signed the paperwork, paid $45 - nothing for checking the tire - and was on my way. One more thing which I took to be a positive - I heard a few of the employees in a friendly conversation with each other as they worked on some of the cars. When people seem to be happy and enjoy where they work, it's usually a good sign for the customers. read more

Sure, maybe you'll pay a touch more due to their real estate in Pismo Beach and next to the freeway/outlet mall but they more than make up for it in service, a clean and safe bathroom and friendly folks. I just fueled up my car here while in south county for an appointment this morning. What a sweet surprise, while the pump was running, to have a very nice man in uniform come out and completely clean my windshield! I thanked him and told him it felt like the old days, when I was growing up, and there were attendants that would run out and do that as well as check your oil, your tires, etc. it made my day! I was convinced I had a major problem due to a clanky noise in my car, but they quickly identified that the issue was a loose winch hook, easily corrected with the push of a button. What truly stood out was their honesty - they could have easily taken advantage of the situation and created unnecessary repairs, but instead, they reassured me and only fixed what was genuinely needed. I don't think a gas station needs a Yelp review but here's one anyway for the amazing staff! If you're traveling from LA this is a great pit stop. I drove 3 hours straight and decided to stop here. The restroom was very clean! The staff was so helpful! When I got out of the restroom, the staff was already cleaning my windshield which was much needed after the long drive. Additionally they pumped my gas too. Felt like a safe spot to stop for those traveling and locals alike. read more

My wife are from Ventura County, we were on our way back from a stay in Cambria when we stopped for Gas at Miller's 76. The front window was pretty dirty, as I was thinking to clean the windshield, a friendly young man in his work uniform said that he was glad to clean my windshield. I was so surprised, I hadn't seen windshields cleaned since I was 10 years old. As he finished mine, he greeted another customer and began to clean their windshield. As I looked around I could see that the business was very busy with repair business also. We come up often so I know where I'm stopping for gas from now on. I took my car to 76 about 5 months ago for a transmission light that was on. It took a couple of months to get the computer module. This was not their fault because of the chip issue everyone is having but now I have the same problem. I brought my car in on Wednesday and dropped it off. I heard nothing all day on Thursday and I called and they said sorry and stated that someone called in sick and they were also very busy. I asked them when I should hear something about my car and they said Friday by noon and here I am Friday evening and no one has called me. So, now I don't have a car all weekend. read more

I thoroughly enjoy that they offered to watch your windows. They have been doing this since the 60s I believe the gentleman named Cevin said. I am sure that over the years it has not been as appreciated as it is now. Not only because of the virus but to take an extra step and customer service is remarkable. It really made my day and my drive much easier being able to see out the front and the back window. I especially appreciate that I did not have to sanitize my hands after washing my windows because I did not have to do it. Thank you so much for hiring such nice and charismatic people.
