Daryl is professional, on time, knows how to get your house back to normal. On top of that, he is reasonably priced, fast (but not rushed) and great to work with. One more thing to consider, how will the contractor you pick, work with the insurance company? I found him to be manipulative and unprofessional and, in my opinion, took advantage of my difficult personal circumstances. In Dec 2017, just weeks after losing my mom and sister and months after moving into my beautiful new home, I discovered a water leak that caused significant damage to my kitchen and multiple rooms. I initiated a claim with my insurance company, and began gathering quotes from three separate contractors -- one of whom was Darryl Huie. His initial demeanor was overly eager and persistent. Despite not being awarded the project, he repeatedly inserted himself into the process, including contacting my insurance adjuster without my consent, showing up to my property unannounced, and calling, emailing, and texting me constantly. I was grieving, overwhelmed, and traveling frequently for work and trying to get my family affairs in order, so I allowed limited access to my home strictly for estimation purposes. Not for any actual work. Darryl claimed that even if I didn't move forward with certain repairs, I was still obligated to pay him the entire labor amount my insurance company had awarded, even for work he wasn't doing. He warned me that I could be reported for insurance fraud if I didn't hand over all the funds to a licensed contractor (i.e., him). In my opinion, he used my inexperience with the insurance process to pressure and intimidate me, which I now see as taking advantage of my vulnerable situation. When I declined to move forward, he entered my home without permission while I was traveling and removed the granite countertop, then claimed it broke due to a "preexisting condition" which would have to be filed under a second claim. He later attempted to manipulate the situation by suggesting he could help get it covered under the initial claim if I gave him the job. I considered this a serious ethical violation and reported it to my insurer. When I returned home, I found my road bike missing from the garage and the broken granite left behind. I then received a $1,200 invoice for "services" for removal of the granite countertop, which I never approved. He eventually sued me in small claims court, falsely asserting we had a verbal agreement. Fortunately, I documented everything, and the judge dismissed the case. Years later, he resurfaced and sent me a disturbing message through Facebook filled with personal attacks, prompting me to finally share this experience. At the time, I didn't have the energy to speak up. I do now. After writing an honest review on Yelp, a man claiming to be his "friend, who happens to be a lawyer," began calling me at work, emailing my personal and work emails. I consider this behavior to be harassing, and I want no further contact. If you are considering working with this contractor, I strongly urge you to proceed with caution. This review is based entirely on my personal experience and supported by court records, insurance documentation, and extensive written communication.

Tony and Appease Builders are the very best!…read more Earlier this year, I was so excited that we'd started a job with a contractor to redo our 1956 garage, which I had wanted to finish since we purchased the house over four years ago. However, after he'd started demo, and temporarily (and incorrectly) roughed in some connections, he got COVID and was unable to complete the job (despite my waiting for over 8 weeks for him to come back to work). It's a rare breed of contractor that will finish a job after another has started it, but to Tony and Robert's credit, these two gentlemen came in with the utmost professionalism, gave a fair price and then delivered on the job. The process of remodeling is notoriously stressful, however Appease Builders helped make it as easy as possible. The crew was so reliable - showing up every day early, working steadily and completed the project just one day over our anticipated schedule - which is an amazing feat all things considered. Additionally, Tony is super responsive and serves as one point person for all aspects of the job, which was a huge benefit to me with the demands on my time for work. For this job, I needed new electrical installed, for recessed lights, new utility box for the washer, new vent for the dryer and water heater plus fully insulated. dry walled, primed and painted. Now, the garage is really transformed from a dusty, dark, dingy spider haven to a clean, bright, pleasant space -- adding much appreciated and infinitely more useable square footage to our home. In addition to storage space, it now also functions as an art studio, a Brazilian jui jitsu practice space and general hang out spot for my son. We all love the new options! Thank you, Tony! One, to install an electrical outlet and hang an accompanying tv. The second, to disconnect a hardwired smoke detector and replace with a new, more efficient model. Both jobs were as prompt, detailed and efficient as the first, and all with friendly smiles. Thank you.

We began our ADU project in May of 2020 with a local architect…read more He drew up our plans, got them approved by the city, and from there we began the bidding process. We received 6 bids (yes, 6!). We knew it was a big project (1200 sq. ft), likely, the biggest home project we would ever do in our lifetime, and did not want to cut any corners. White Glove Construction was not the cheapest, but we're by far the most responsive and "feel good". I use the words "feel good" because many of our bids felt very casual, almost as if they didn't want the job. This was NOT the case with White Glove! They were always professional and did what they said they were going to do. We had one minor hiccup, which I felt was to be expected considering the size of our project. This hiccup was quickly resolved with a few phone calls and several apologies from Scott and Steve. I would consider ourselves lucky since I've seen a few bad reviews down below. But honestly, even since our project has been completed, Scott will still come by if we have any issues. The issues have been very minor, mostly user error and some education is all it takes... We loved White Glove construction so much, it's almost hard to believe that someone could have so many issues. We loved that Scott allowed, in our contract, for us to perform almost all finishing work. Drywall, flooring, lighting, cabinets, etc. We felt this would save us money and I think we were right. Scott worked with our budget and was honest about what we could actually get for the money we had. Bottom line, Scott knows his stuff. There was even a time the city inspector learned a few things! We were there when Scott, very diplomatically, whipped out the manufacturers recommendation for some piping. Turns out, Scott's work was top notch, and the city inspector gained a new respect for our contractor due to his knowledge. We love White Glove Construction!
