I've had solar panels for many years, and David was NOT the one who installed them! I've had them installed by Solar City (now Tesla). Since one cannot get a hold of a human being at Tesla, I called David for insight into why I am now starting to get bills from Southern California Edison (first time in 2 years). He answered the call, helped me troubleshoot. I asked him if there would be benefit from coming out to do an assessment, and he honestly answered that there may not be a benefit at this time. He was willing to have a conversation with me and helped me troubleshoot, without phone trees or a high pressure sale. When or if I need to add onto my panels, it's a no brainer, I will call David at Long Beach solar, no question.

It's 4 year in a row now the system failed to produce the minimum guaranteed production. AWS Solar chose to compensate for the shortfall again; we'll see what the 5th year production looks like. I suggested replacing some of the panels with the higher power ones to solve the issue, but I guess they want to see more data.

Warning: This company does not stand behind their warranty…read more One of the reasons that we decided to go with Solar Source was their 10 year warranty that was promised with their system. $25,000 is a big investment and we knew that we didn't want to have to shell out more money if one of the pieces of equipment failed, as I had heard was a problem from other solar customers. We've had our solar system for about 6 years now and have been generally happy up until a few months ago when, of course, one of the pieces of electronic equipment failed. We contacted Solar Source and they sent out a technician who checked our Envoy computer and deemed it defective. He then explained that this particular unit has been problematic and that the component was only warrantied by the manufacturer for 5 years. In the end, Solar Source required us to spend an additional $650 on the new equipment and an additional $250 to install. When the new component arrived at our house I called them to schedule the installation and was told that they would call me back to schedule. They never called me back. I ended up installing it myself, which consisted of screwing in four wires and calling the manufacturer to get it activated so at least didn't need to pay them for the installation. All in all not a great experience with a company that I initially chose because of their warranty.

We found another person to work on the system and discovered that because we had not done maintenance on the generac, our warranty was void! as a result we have spent a small fortune replacing our generator and linking it to our enphase system. I should note that our home is off-grid permanently. it's not a backup for when the power goes out. there is no electric grid in our community. do not do business with Eric Helgeson. Hes a con man, a crook and a thief!

About 1 year ago we noticed water leaking after the rain over one section of panels which an expert determined was happening where the solar panel mounts were attached. Overall the team all seem to be doing their job and the execution is quick but the lack of customer communication is not up to par for a 50k project. It felt like I was the project manager all the time, following up on schedule, and then calling to verify. I had a feeling that the teams are split and everyone only does their job based on a scope and not as a team. Sometimes, I just want the truth on timing.... Bc Everytime I get a timing commitment, it's delayed and or no show and then also no updates. The project is still on-going with skirting, commissioning wasn't even done , painting of pipes/conduits... so will update accordingly. 8/6/26 : the team swiftly came the next day and finished painting and commissioning so I will add a star.
