I went to Beach Chevrolet in December 2025 to purchase a 2025 Chevrolet 2500 Series pick-up truck. The salesman Gary Bowman negotiated the deal to get me to enter a sale. He stated for $50,000 he could get me into the truck. It was a shady deal from the beginning where he insisted I sign a blank piece of paper to state I was seriously interested in this deal to show the manager, Chris Poplin, no numbers just a handwritten line with an X to put my initials. The deal included the trade of my truck. He agreed that $11,000 was doable as a trade. My deal should have been $39,000 plus taxes. There were "We Owes" such as a clear coat. Salesman Bowman insisted that I not forget to come back for this, repeated it several times. The deal proceeded to the finance manager Derek's office. Electronic contract was pulled up. Extended warranty was offered. I was told Bumper to Bumper was additional $15/mo that it was $850. Never mentioned that this was the new car payment, which made me believe it was the cost of the extended warranty. I wanted to finance the new truck through my personal bank but in the process of completing deal finance manager pushed my contract through financing from dealership. No paperwork was ever printed for me, I was only handed a flash drive. Also, after all this I was handed 1 single piece of paper to sign which stated I could not sue them. This hard inquire made my credit score drop 70 points! Bank of America sent the loan paperwork at Christmas time and the total contract was for $62,455 and that translated to the $850 per month payment. This entire financed amount was $75,317. This was blatant misrepresentation, nowhere was this deal the $39,000 we originally negotiated. One result of this experience is that Beach Chevrolet fired the Manager Chris Poplin and also the Finance Manager Derek! NOT SOON ENOUGH! The ONLY savings grace was the Receptionist Rosie was extremely helpful in assisting in getting some resolution by putting me through to people who could help. read more
