Walking in the location is really spacious and organized which was nice to see. The front desk employee (who is also responsible for cleaning beds / rooms and answering the phone) was a 10/10 when it came to being cool as a cucumber and still keeping customer service top of mind because when I tell you she had to juggle customers walking in, customers calling on the phone and cleaning up, she did all of the above seamlessly and so professionally. The rooms themselves were clean and neat and had hooks for your clothes and a stool / chair which was convenient. I definitely recommend them if you want quality and great service. read more

But when I came into beach bum Lodi the ladies at the front were SO NICE AND SWEET and were so patient with my questions. They showed me all the beds and gave me a mini tour and everything was so clean and organized it was honestly so relieving. If I could give this 0 stars I would. I am not one to ever leave a negative review and I'm also the type of person whenever I am getting a service done, even if I don't like it I won't say anything however, this experience has been horrifying. I went yesterday to receive a spray tan from one of the girls who works there. I even generously tipped her via Zelle. I had made it very clear that I did not want any orange undertone to my tan. I am very pale and was looking for a light coat and didn't want anything dramatic I emphasized that and communicated I wanted something with an olive undertone, so it looks as natural as possible. I was so scared to even do a spray tan for this reason. The color that was used on me was called cosmic, and she assured me that this would be the right color and it wouldn't be too dramatic. Well, I'm here to say this color is horrifying and I look like an Oompa Loompa. I've tried so hard to remove this tan after paying $65 for this and this just won't come off. I've tried scrubbing, exfoliating, lemon, baking soda... you name it nothing will remove it. I went today and spoke with the manager Nicole to see if they have any solution to remove it and she told me the bottle was $40. Why on earth should I pay to remove an awful job? I was left with streaks, orange skin, and green armpits. (Yes I showered and exfoliated my skin 30 mins before my appointment) Trust me I know this review sounds harsh and I am such a nice person so leaving this receive says a lot. I will never in my life go back there and will communicate to others to steer clear. read more

I'm loving the relocation. The decor is so beachy and vibrant. John leads a flawless team!!! Everyone is fantastic. Despite encountering some rude & demanding clients, the staff has always remained incredibly professional. I am very impressed with how clean they maintain all the beds. When I was in college, I used to work at a tanning salon and I know how tiresome cleaning some of those beds can be. Just wanted to point out I have yet to see a single finger print in a bed. The staff is very friendly and most definitely helpful. I normally don't go tanning often only to get a base before going on vacation since Im pretty tan already but I always find myself with plenty of questions. I went to beach bum For my first spray tan yesterday. I walked in there and when checking in the tried Selling me this lotion that is to make your tan last longer, I did not want this so I did not purchase it or use it. when they said that it would enhance my tan I did not think it meant that without it I would look like I got beat up with a spray Can. I walk out of there looking like graffiti and asking my spray Tech if it is supposed to look so dark In some places and so light in others. The places that were lighter were completely missed by the way. She told me that it will all even out and I will be perfectly even. After following all the directions given to me by the salon and the beach bum website I rinsed only to find that I look tie-dyed. The tan did not even out and not only was I patchy I was completely tan in some places and there were tan lines on my arms. these tan lines are not caused by clothing marks. So here i go, the place is great with the staff having knowledge and friendliness that makes me want to go back as needed. I am not one for how decorated the place is (decorated very nicely by the way) but i am one for the beds and stand up units that are available. I cannot believe with the demand for the stand up units and they only have ONE STAND UP UNIT AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL PACKAGE. This one stand up unit is kinda getting old and looks it as well... The unit just looks like it needs to be updated with the addition of more stand up units in this category ( the staff always says they wish they had more stand up units in this category so please listen to them!!!.) This is one of the more expensive tanning salons in Bergen County but in my experience it's worth it. For starters, this tanning salon is open until midnight so I don't feel rushed to get here after work. Also, this location is huge and they have a vast selection of beds ranging from levels 1-5. I bought a 30 day package for a trip last year and loved all of the higher level beds! They gave me a quick tan that lasted without really burning (which can happen in the beginning.) I recently went back to use their mystic tan and this is one of the best mystic tans I've ever had. It looked really natural and I did not notice any streaks or splotches. The employee working, Ryan, was super nice and helpful in explaining how everything was done. Unlike your traditional mystic tans, this booth has you turn 4 times for an even tan. People are really nice and everything is really clean but if you can, rather go to Paramus location since they have better sun beds for the same package. I was using sun bed here (i think it was cayenne - no music, mist is not working, you get so-so tan - overall not so interesting experience, in fact really boring. And in Paramus for the same package they gave me an awesome KBL sun bed which has music and automatic mist working and on top of everything,you get much better color - awesome experience and time went so fast! I've had the pleasure of trying a lot of establishments all over North Jersey. I've seen the Good, The bad , and the Dirty. This location has a hidden Gem and his name is RYAN!!! He was nothing short of a gentleman and helped in every way possible. We came here because our usually location down the street from our house closed. But I will be taking the extra ten minute drive to come here, from now on. Ryan keeps the place spotless and is "Johnny on the spot" with customer service. I have been a few times- I understand the last reviewer was angry about an expired package- but that seems to be corporate. that's why I buy sessions - and if they expire- they always give me them back if I buy more sessions. I recently went to this BB location for a mystic tan (which was fabulous) but what I would really like to note is the high level of customer service I received :) the morning after my mystic I realized that I had left my necklace, which had a lot of sentimental value to me, in the salon. An amazing rep named John searched all over the salon to see if he could find it..even almost taking apart the washer/dryer in case it fell thru. It turns out another rep had stored the necklace in the safe and John called me the moment he found out and even stayed past his shift to wait for me to get the necklace. It meant so much to me that the reps cared so much for my situation- it speaks volumes about this location, the staff, and the focus on customer care and service. I used to go to LA Sunset Tan in Clifton and had a package there but found out today that they permanently closed (with no notice!!). I always steered away from beach bum because I thought it was too expensive but I'm so glad I went in today! I got a monthly package for $69 a month for the highest bed and the place is very nice and clean. All the other reviews about the staff being great are spot on as well! I don't normally write reviews unless I'm complaining but I have to make an exception for this salon. I have been tanning for 20 years & I have been to salons all over NJ. This is by far the best tanning/salon experience I have ever had! All of the employees greeted me like they were actually happy to see me and even remembered my name after only my third visit. For such a busy salon, that's impressive! I am obsessed with their sauna and fit wraps. My new favorite way to treat myself is to put a deep conditioner in my hair, my favorite skin mask on my face and go relax in the sauna for a while! It's like having a whole spa day in under an hour. Their tanning beds are always spotless and always have new bulbs. To top it all off... They're still the most reasonably priced salon in Bergen county. Everyone was so helpful and it was a great experience! I'm trying my first airbrush tan next week so I will post another review to let everyone know how it goes! read more

He helped me with one of the titanium level beds I was unfamiliar with and explained everything thoroughly (to ensure that I was safe & would get the desired optimal tanning result.) I love this location! The people that work there are always very friendly and helpful. There's always someone at the front desk to greet you when you walk in. Not like some of the other locations.. Paramus where you have to wait ten minutes sometimes just to see an employee. All the rooms and beds are always perfectly cleaned and neat. The decor is also very nice and they have a couple big comfy couches if you have to wait. Coming here over three years I think I only had to wait once or twice. They provide a towel and in the room but you can always ask for another if you need. The bathrooms are always well stocked and clean. I've had the same package for over five years and pay around 90$ a month to use any bed. To me it's a good deal because I tan a lot and can use the higher quality beds and switch it up to use different ones. I prefer the stand up and lay down titanium to the diamond level because I think I get better color from them. They lower levels tend to make me burn more. As for lotion, most beach bums tend to charge a lot for them so I stick with amazon for my lotions. After years of tanning this is definitely the best beach bum I've ever been to! read more
