While traveling to Myrtle Beach and pulling a 5th wheel RV, our check engine light came on. A Google search came up with Beach Ford. We called first thing Monday morning and were connected with Beach Truck and RV Center, a separate facility of Beach Automotive We were told to bring the truck in that morning. Diagnostics were run and the issue was a particle sensor. As it would take a few hours we were shuttled back to our campsite and then picked up when the issue was fixed. Thank you Beach Ford in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and now I'm looking for a repair replacement shop. I took my 2019 Ford Ranger to Beach Ford in Myrtle Beach for a 70,000 mile transmission fluid flush and a couple other things spent over $3000 2 1/2 months later I started hearing this strange noise. On the third month I started to get this jerking and hesitation. At first, I thought it was just a bad gas. On the 4 month my transmission light came on. I looked underneath my truck and I had this fluid everywhere. I took it to the dealership, Beach Ford. Jon the man behind the counter was so rude and so inconsiderate. He told me that it will take about 3 to 4 days to look at. I asked him if I could use a loaner car, he immediately jumped and said no. I explained to him that I need to get to work. He replied back to me and said I'm sorry, but that's not my problem. I immediately went on my phone and started looking for a rental vehicle. Unfortunately, I can't not remember the man that worked in the loaner vehicle department. He asked me if I needed a loaner and he was extremely nice and grateful and set me up with a loaner within 30 minutes. The rude man, Jon called me about four hours later and told me that I need a new transmission $9600. It's going to cost. I immediately went back to Beach Ford can I explain to him? I just had my vehicle serviced in here and they flushed out the transmission. Again, he was rude and told me that's not my issue. You just have a bad transmission. Now I am looking for a transmission repair replacement shop. I don't think I will ever come back to Beach Ford again. read more

TRASH! Call Conway Ford ASAP! Had a safety recall and they refused to send a mobile mechanic for a steering wheel being detached nor would they cover a tow. They wanted me to essentially pay out of pocket to get my car to them for something ford did wrong. I called Conway Ford per guidance of literally 15 plus people and within 10 minutes, I have a mobile mechanic coming to me to fix not only that but four other recalls. Nothing out of my pocket. Her'es why: We had an agreement with a locked-in price for purchasing one of your Lincoln Aviator's as long as we arrived at the dealership by 4:45PM yesterday. I even offered to give my credit card info for a deposit to hold it for us, but Anthony told us it was not necessary; just for us to be there by 4:45PM. We arrived a few minutes early and they had shown our car to another prospective buyer and told us it was sold. James Brown & Anthony were in the process of filling out the sales paperwork for the other buyer. When I brough it up to both James ans Anthony, James asked Anthony: "did you tell them they didn't need to put a deposit on their credit card to hold the vehicle". Anthony said yes, I did. James then proceeded to repromand Anthony in front of us and told him he should have and should always check with him before telling a customer that. At that point, I thought the issue was resolved and that we would be the rightful buyer of the vehicle. But then, all of a sudden, both James & Anthony disappeared from the showroom floor desk/station where we were conducting our business. After a minute, I decided to look for them, and I witnessed them both in a glass office with another 3rd man (who turned out to be the Director of Sales - I didn't get his name). They were talking. In the very next glass office, was the other buyer with another, 4th person, who seemed to be filling out paperwork. When James Brown & Anthony Small returned to my wife & I at the showroom desk, the Director of Sales was with them. He looked at me & my wife, and with a straight face, he asked Anthony the same question regarding his statement to us that "we did NOT need to place a deposit to hold the car until 4:45". He asked Anthony: "Did you tell them that?" This time, Anthony said "No" - he BOLDLY, STRAIGHT-OUT LIED!! I will be sharing this as a NEGATIVE REVIEW anywhere and everywhere I possibly can. You have supervisory employees (James Brown & the Dir. of Sales, who are aggressively coercing underlings (in this case: Anthony Small) to lie in order to sell a car at a higher price; after already having a legally-binding verbal agreement with a previous buyer. Anthony Small told the complete, and honest truth when he answered "YES" when he was first asked by his immediate Supervisor, James Brown, and in front of us and other customers, if he told us there was no deposit needed to hold our deal for buying this car. While purchasing the vehicle the Beach Ford Salesperson told us they answer all their calls & return messages directly - they do NOT. Our 2024 pre-owned vehicle showed 36% oil life remaining. When we called the response was " I CAN ONLY TELL YOU WE PAID FOR AN OIL CHANGE. IF THEY DID IT OR NOT, WE CAN'T SAY. LOOK AT THE OIL". This is NOT a satisfactory or professional response. We drove the vehicle 8 miles home & noticed strands of the steel belt protruding out from the rim & a tear in the right front tire sidewall. I own a 2020 transit with a repeated issue of water getting onto the spark plug. I have received repeated poor service and promises from Beach Ford and still given temporary fixes. This manager Fred, i believe is his name, will talk in circles without answering direct questions and provide temporary fixes. This company refused to continue to fix the issue of water in the spark plugs until I changed a brand new windshield, $ 1000, and water is still getting into the spark plug. This is an ongoing issue without compensation of rental car or windshield. Their customer service to people walking through the door is to ignore them...no good morning, no we'll be right with you. I stopped in the dealership today 8/27/25 to seriously purchase a new truck. As I entered I noticed several employees who looked directly at me without saying a word. I walked around the showroom for approximately 10 minutes without anyone checking to see if I needed help. I walked by the front desk several times where three male employees were seated , one was speaking to an individual and the other two were looking at their computers while glancing up to see me without saying anything. Keith the Salesman was awesome, not pushy. We were looking for a used pick up truck to tow a 5th wheel. First we tired a used Ford but it had issues, I had my own independent mechanic check it out and it had some issues, when I returned after they let me take it home for a day Keith who was awesome was not there and we decided to go with a used GMC. When Keith was not there there was a very arrogant guy at the desk telling me there was nothing wrong with the Ford pick up as they had their mechanics check it out before putting it on the lot for sale. When I texted Keith he was very cool with us trying a different used vehicle to take home for the day, Had the used GMC checked out by our mechanic and he said that it was in excellent shape and no issues, so we bought it. We would come back here when it is time for another car and would see Keith again. Keith went above and beyond, including driving me to airport where our trade in was parked as my wife had to catch a flight the day before (same day I took the GMC home for a day to have mechanic check it out). read more

The staff at BAG are a bunch of arrogant uneducated and unprofessional people except for Lance. They refused to allow me to charge my electric Mach E on their premises because it was purchased from another dealership Outside of South Carolina. Since the vehicle is currently inoperable I have had no transportation for several weeks now. The owner of the dealership banned me from the property. I am suing them for $80,000 which is the replacement cost of the vehicle. I advise all future Ford customers to only do business with the dealerships in Conway or Pawley's Island. If u could give them a zero I would give them a BIG flat ZERO! I rushed there last night to buy a car and boy no one wants to sell a car these days! I got there and met Chris the sales agent or manager but if he is a manager he should be demoted. I told him right from the start what I wanted. I was putting down 10k with my trade in meaning that I would put the difference of whatever they gave me for my trade in. When he came back with the finance guy he had no idea I was putting anything down. That's because Chris was to worried about texting and working. He apologized and said I was supposed to put the 10k in but clearly was not paying attention if he missed that part. He did not put his customer first! When we sat in Chris office with my dad, cousin and the finance manager I clearly said 10k with the trade in difference and the finance manager said 320 car payment a month after going back to his office. When we got to the finance manager office he asked for 10k cash and I said it's not 10k it's 6500. He said ohhhh that switches the numbers. They started getting really nasty! The manager that was running the store bangs on the store and says let's wrap it up.THAT MANAGER IS NOT HELPING THE STORES NUMBERS IF HE WAS NOT WILLING TO MAKE HIS EMPLOYEES MISTAKE CORRECT! January 2019 I purchased a 2019 Mazda CX 5 from Beach Mazda a part of this group. This was the 3rd Mazda I had purchased from them (including a used Ford Ranger). Up until September of this year (2022), I had never had a problem with their vehicles or their service department. I realize that using the dealership is a little more expensive for servicing your vehicle and I accept that. During my last service the Service Representative told me I needed back brakes and during my next service they would cost me an additional $200 on top of my normal service fee. I had no problems with that. When I called in September to have my service done and the back brakes replaced I was told by a new service representative that it would be $250 for the back brakes and I would have to have the rotors replaced also, regardless of whether they needed it or not. I was also having a problem with my lift gate not raising automatically. Which they told me would cost me $170 for a diagnostic to see what was wrong. I read the book on the car that if the battery was bad the lift gate would not work at all, so I replaced the battery, which made everything operational. I then called them back to cancel the diagnostic and they told me even though I had replaced the battery and everything was working properly I would still have to have the diagnostic done for $170. This is on top of the increased cost for my back brakes and rotors; which I would have to have replaced whether I needed to or not. We are now talking approximately $520 plus the cost of the service, bringing the cost over $600. They only told me about the rotors on the 2nd call when I tried to cancel the diagnostic to determine why my lift gate was not working. They also said it was mandatory that I get a diagnostic even though I had personally resolved the problem by replacing the battery. That was an unnecessary cost of $170 for something I fixed myself. Next how can you tell a car owner they need rotors without inspecting them for wear or grooving. (Which after the above, why would I trust them to inspect them?) So, now I am looking at $250 for back brakes, $170 for a diagnostic (which I don't need). Then approximately another $90 - $100 for rotors. Service will also be approximately another $100. This is approximately $620 before taxes and service fees. I took my car to another service company and saved approximately $200, which included the inspections and vehicle service. I stopped by the service department at Mazda today to ask them to repair my transmission which is now slipping and I have the extended warranty package which I purchased when I purchased the vehicle. They said that I would have to have a diagnostic for $170 done to see if the extended warranty company would cover the diagnostic or any parts the vehicle might need. I purchased the extended warranty in good faith, thinking they would honor it just as if it were the 30,000 mile or 3 year bumper to bumper warranty, the extended warranty is suppose to cover 60,000 miles or 6 years, whichever came first. My vehicle is at approximately 54,000 miles right now. I spoke with the Service Manager and he could not tell me what my warranty covered and said it would be up to the warranty company to determine whether they would cover the diagnostic cost of $170 and any parts I may need to fix the Transmission. My question is why doesn't a Service Manager know what a warranty covers on his vehicles? From my perspective the Service Department at this dealership is just trying to screw me out of money and has no clue as to what is or isn't covered by the warranty they sold me. I refuse to pay additional money for something I purchased in good faith, i.e. my extended warranty. So, to all you potential car buyers I would find a different dealership unless you want to get jipped out of your money and quality service. I will never buy another vehicle from this dealership and I suggest you don't either. They do not care about the customer just their profit margin. Having spoken to him a couple of times regarding a car on the lot, I then called early on a Friday morning to make an almost full-price offer (I only asked if the dealership fee could be waived) on the vehicle. He said he would check with his manager and call me back shortly. Not having heard from him (and waiting eagerly, as one does when buying a vehicle!), I called again a few hours later for a status update, and was told that his manager had been busy all day, but that he (DJ) would definitely be getting back to me shortly. Well, I never did hear back from him, and three days later (today) I noticed that the car had apparently been sold. All I needed was for someone to call me back and let me know that someone else had purchased it (if that's what happened), so that I could plan accordingly. USED CAR BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!Bought a 2016 Lincoln MKX August 18th By labor day weekend noticed my air conditioner blowing out warm air, called to get appointment could not get me in till middle of October at the time of appointment I was told I needed front Brakes and rotors because they were extremely bad and ready to let go and the air conditioning unit needed to be replaced $1800.00 NO Thank you for that price I had put not even 1300 miles on the car. I take to private mechanic only to find out my back brakes are even worse than the front and to top it all off the tires were awful which I had to replace them in December they were so bad the tires just went flat in my driveway. The salesman said they are still legal to sell you. Then to make matters worse after leaving several google reviews I had someone from the dealership reach out to say they wanted to reimburse me for my troubles and make things better, I am assuming due to all my negative reviews I had left which are gone now, I had faith that they would mail me a check for my troubles which Rob stated he would and guess what big surprise they have done nothing and do not care obviously about return customers. My price for my invoice was much less than what they were going to charge and it wouldn't of even fixed all the trouble with this car. He had so much patience as we looked around and test drove several cars. My daughter did not find a car, but I did and was very pleased with the service that I received. I'm very happy with my recent car buying experience here at Beach Automotive. A lot of pre-work was done online and by phone to ensure that I was approved and ready to go before driving a couple of hours to this location, and also to ensure that the vehicle that I wanted to test drive would be there when I arrived. Upon arriving, I was greeted in the parking lot, and walked inside to where I'd be meeting with my salesman. I was then walked out to the building and given a thorough look through the car before starting the test drive, and once the drive was done, we sat down to discuss how to move forward. The finance part of the meeting was honestly quick and smooth, and overall, it didn't really feel like I was there from start to finish for almost two hours. My trade-in was respectfully valued at a price that I agreed with, and that was used towards the new car. Overall, this was one of the smoothest car buying experiences that I've had over the many years that I've been buying cars. I went into Quicken Lube part of Beach Automotive to inquire about a check engine light on the dash of my 2016 Ford F-250 on January 23rd 2018 at 11:30 AM. I walked up to the counter there were two people there a woman in a Quick Lane shirt and a guy in a T shirt who looked like he worked in the bay behind the counter. Both employees ignored me for over 4 minutes while taking numerous phone calls and going to the shop and back to the counter. Never did they recognize or acknowledge my presence by verbally saying I will be right with you? Finally I said can I get waited on? The woman replied can't you see I am busy and the guy just looked at me. ? I raised my voice and said I would like to speak to the manger, the woman replied curtly he is at lunch what can I do for you? I told her I had a check engine light on my dash and my truck was still in warranty. The woman said we don't do that here go to the Ford building for service for that! I left and went to Ford Service. I have had my car in Quick Lube there before but never again! I told the woman she needed to be retrained in customer service and I left. Beach Automotive if this is the best you can do I will take my truck elsewhere for service. This is not the first time I have been treated badly at Beach Automotive Service Department. I won't be back ever again and I have purchased two new trucks there in the past! I am 75, maybe they thought I was old and stupid? I am old but sharp and have a lot of money and it will never go to Beach Automotive in any capacity! read more
