I've been having weekly massages with Kate for 6 weeks or so now, and I cannot recommend her enough. Massage is critical for my health, as I've got a disabling chronic illness that keeps me quite sedentary (and with a hyper-sensitive nervous system and low pain tolerance). I've had monthly massage as part of physical therapy, for years- but since March 2020 I hadn't had a single one. So I was in pretty bad shape when I first went to Kate. And by the end of my 60-minute session, my chronic pain was so far reduced by her skill, I almost wept with relief. She's not the cheapest massage therapist I've ever had- but she's by far the best, and worth every penny. Even days when I'm not in pain, I can feel the difference after her massage. And she varies her technique and focus based on how I'm feeling as well as her own expertise. Every massage with her has made a noticeable difference in my body, for the better. She's also very personable and calm, doesn't try to chat at me during the massage, and has created a calming, welcoming environment with her studio (from the electric fireplace to the music, to the warming massage table, the cleanliness of the space, the plants and crystals, etc.) Her cupping machine is interesting, and her massage lotion is great for my dry, sensitive skin. She's a very positive, kind person (as well as being observant) and clearly is continuing to develop her considerable skill. I had a 30 minute cupping session with Kate, and I feel so much more relaxed and like so much tension left my body. She incorporated some massage and her hands are magic. I scheduled another appointment for massage and cupping in a couple weeks and can't wait to incorporate it monthly. Be Well Bodywork by Kate is a peaceful and spacious place right on the first floor with easy parking right out front. You begin to relax as soon as you pass the lavender garden surrounding the entrance. Kate (the Owner) is an exceptional therapist who is personable and highly skilled in therapeutic massage and bodywork. After trying physical therapy, chiropractic or other forms of treatment many of her clients are Amazed by the results of a single session and begin to make it a consistent part of their life. I have known Kate since 2009 when she was a student at the Baltimore School of Massage at the top of her class and always asking questions. Three years later I had great fortune of opening a business with her named Live Well Be Well which has become very successful. Myself and her clients were sad to see her go but excited for her to bravely follow her heart to Virginia and share her incredible gift. I first visited Kate at the recommendation of a friend. My friend knew many massage therapists and I highly respected her opinion. I had also heard good things about Kate through my colleagues that knew her. They all said she was smart and sharp.. At my appointments, I found Kate to be very down to earth, friendly and accommodating. She really seems to know the muscles and could tell me where I was having problems without me telling her. She got quite a few knots out. While she was working over my legs and ankle one day, she said I needed to work out the muscle problems or I was going to have some major problems. Not too long after this (maybe a month or so), my feet started hurting. I went to a Podiatrist and discovered that I had no cartilage in my big toe and bone spur. This was exactly the place where Kate noticed the problems. The Podiatrist suggested surgery. Well,, he put a full Plate in my foot without my knowledge. Now I have additional problems in flexibility and ankle problems. I wish I had known Kate earlier. Perhaps she could have worked out the foot problems, and saved me from surgery. Kate is very good and the environment at her studio is very relaxing. I highly recommend her. read more

Kate is great! She is a massage therapist that has the ability to connect immediately with you emotionally and physically and it shows.
