I don't know about you but walking into the toxic stale air surrounded by masked employees - the majority of nail salons - really depresses me. BE Polished is a breath of fresh air...the complete opposite of the cheap nail factories that I used to frequent. No, they don't do acrylic nails, so don't go there if that's your bag. I came in to have my nails done for the Marine Corps Ball. I asked for nails that look "naked but done up" at this point my nails were so broken they didn't have any white. Ana created long nails for me and was spot on with my request! This is a super cute place, very elegant and refreshing. There was great conversation going around between staff and patrons. Got my mani/pedi done today for the first time here and I'm so happy! The atmosphere was so welcoming with beautiful "old" music playing and vintage chic decor! Definitely a change from typical nail salons. I was welcomed with a hot neck pillow, and my choice of a cup of hot tea, water, coffee or a mimosa! Finding a nail tech who knows what you really like is hard to find and when you find one, you simply have to stick to them. Anna been taking care of my nails ever since my "nub" days and you'd never believe how long and beautiful they look now. She always go above and beyond for me. So, I took my daughter for a Mommy and Me mani pedi. On her Birthday. The place is super cute, but they do need to replace those laminate wood floors, it's probably a health violation and they are unsightly. But aside from that.... The mani and pedis came out looking good. We got the Queen BE that included a sugar scrub. The ladies were polite and focused on doing a good job. However they never smiled once. Both girls had a very unhappy and somber attitude. They didn't make conversation or even ask how we're doing. They new we were there for daughter's birthday but never even said happy birthday. When they were done they didn't say anything, they just walked away. They never even presented a bill. So weird. We had to find the owner to get the bill. This place had sour and unfriendly attitudes, needs clean floors and wasn't a nice experience. Sorry, I really wanted to love this place. read more

I have visited this place twice so far. The first time I got a gel manicure and pedicure which were ok. The second time I wanted a French ombré and the technician showed me really professionally done pictures that she claimed was done by her. But once she started applying the polish I knew she was very inexperienced. She kept applying and taking it off and because of language barrier she wasn't communicating. Then she left and came back with a lady I assume was her supervisor who was very rude!!! As you can imagine I was surprised that instead of being apologetic she was rude to me that why are you asking for this type of nail ... then the technician said it was bc she had left her brush at home and went to borrow a brush... at that point I only wanted to get out... after 2 hours I left w nails that looked all lumpy and bumpy with weird lines bc the colors were not blended.. needless to say it looked nothing like what she had shown me... as I was paying the gentleman at the checkout made a comment that it's because the ombré had to be done w a dip technique and told me to remember that for next time as if I am the technician... why do I need to know the technique is lost to me... instead of a simple apology they made comments and had such a poor attitude that convinced me not to go back there... read more

My girlfriend planned a nail spa birthday for me here and it was absolutely lovely! They were able to accommodate 8 of us, during 2 appt times. Excellent - The decor - really cute place - Nice ambience - relaxing environment - Great nail polish choices Good - The staff was nice and welcoming Below Average - The amount of time - "luxury" pedicures usually last an hour - this one was 45 minutes - The massage - very short - The copper bowls are beautiful, but the water gets cold really fast - Comfort - the loveseats are very cute, but they're very low to the ground, so when you put your feet on the technician's knees (is this a bit odd?), you have to slump down a bit, which is not very good for your back (left with a sore back) - I also felt very bad for the technicians - that has to be very bad for their back as well - The pedicure - the nails on the right side are quite a bit longer than the left and they're crooked on one side - I asked for them to be squared off but they're rounded - you can still see my old nail polish on the sides - they did not do any "work" under the big toes - this is what I would expect of a $15 - $20 pedicure in a strip mall (not $45) Overall, it felt like the time & effort was put into how the place looks and your first impression (looks, ambience, polish choices, champagne, tea, smiling staff), but not at all into the product. A whole new idea in nail salons. When you step in, it's more like a Victorian tea parlor than a nail salon. The foot soaking basins are tucked underneath the cozy sofas, and are made of pounded copper. Lovely, cozy setting with nice music, friendly staff, and no awful smells! The prices are extremely reasonable, and having a glass of bubbly while you get a pedicure is a pretty sweet perk! I'll be back for more services for sure. read more

I work with my hands and hardcore gardened during those 3+ weeks, too, and they've never chipped. I will swear by this place and those working there! I really was hoping I didn't need to leave this review. The salon is super cute and feels clean. No fumes. The owner is very welcoming and accommodating. However, the pedicure experience itself was absolutely not worth the cost. They don't have standard whirlpool soaking tubs. Instead, they use a copper bowl which does not keep water hot at all. I have short legs and my feet were barely soaking in the tub. I had to ask several times for her to cut my nails as short as possible. The massage did not last long at all. She put the mask on and left me alone with cold towels on my legs for 10 minutes. This pedicure took over an hour and I'm not sure why. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. read more

My husband and I stopped by here after a long day of walking around Coronado, and we couldn't have picked a better spot to relax and be pampered! The owner (I apologize that I didn't get her name) was super sweet and was able to fit us in right away, each for a pedicure. She brought us each a warm neck pillow AND offered complimentary mimosas (which I took her up on!). They do things a little differently here, but it was fun. They have such a charming atmosphere--you sit on couches during the pedicure and your feet are washed in large, clean bowls. It's unlike any other salon I've been to. Jenn and Savannah took great care of us--they were so nice and did such an amazing job; this was the best pedicure I'd ever had! Definitely get something with a sugar scrub. I came here with a friend who raved about the salon. It's such a cute place, it doesn't even look like a nail salon! There is no harsh nail polish smell, the staff is very friendly and there are tons of cute clothes and jewelry to look through as well. I felt very relaxed with my warm neck pillow and a glass of champagne while I got my nails done. The prices are a little more expensive than the run of the mill places at a strip mall, but you get more for your money, for sure. I got a gel manicure and they had tons of colors to choose from. I don't get manicures often, but I will definitely come back to BE polished for my next appointment! One star off for not having descriptions of their services online--all the different mani/pedi choices have cute, fun names, but the website doesn't tell you what each package comes with. The atmosphere and concept of this salon is great. From the scented water for your pedis to the free mimosas as you get pampered I haven't seen anything in San Diego like this. Unfortunately the quality of the manicure and pedicure, I feel doesn't match the same effort they put in the atmosphere. We made reservations for this place before our best friends wedding randomly. They sounded nice on the phone so we booked it. I could have never imagined a better experience! We had about 15 girls, we wanted to bring tons of champagne, and some snacks (which sounded super high maintenance). So we got there, the place was SUPER cute inside, the lady was so sweet, and had everything ready for us! She put all our champagne in the freezer, got us all set up, and ordered/picked up sandwiches for us from down the street. It was so amazing! It's hard for me to leave this review because I really liked the owner and the technician who gave me my pedicure. She worked hard and did a great job. I enjoyed the warm neck pillow and complimentary mimosa. However, this shop does not have the standard massage chairs with whirlpool bath for the feet. Instead you sit on an overstuffed sofa, your feet soak in a copper bowl, and afterwards you place your feet in the technicians lap for the pedicure. This was awkward as well as painful on my lower back. The shop itself is darling and the people are kind and competent, but the set up - for me - left a lot to be desired. read more

This was the most awful experience I've had. I got to the nail salon at 2:30, 2.5 hours before they close. They accept walk ins so I assumed I'd have to problem. They said they couldn't take me until 4:10, fine so I made the appointment for them and came back. Then I sat there past my scheduled appointment time when they finally said they had to reschedule me because there wasn't enough time before they left for my service. Great little spot to get your feetsies pampered. My mom, my friend, and I walked by on at 10am Friday morning and made an appt that day at noon. The employees were hospitable and friendly. I love this place. Very very clean and top notch service. Each time I've been, my pedi lasts 3 weeks and you can't beat a place that offers mimosas and a warm neck pillow. I love that there are copper bowls rather than the massage chairs because I have yet to see a local salon that sanitizes each chair correctly by running cleaning solution through the chair (to get anything in the hoses in the chair not just the tub).
