The dance recital was magnificent! My neices attend Be Famous, while my daughter has been at We're Dancin' this year.... what a bummer that was!!
I can tell you that the two recitals were night and day from one another as ours was nothing shy of complete unorganized chaos, but was ironically named "Perfect 10". This studio had all their ducks in a row, was near perfection and should have been called a Perfect 10! To give you an idea of how great they are here, without calling anybody out in a negative manner; a little girl forgot her dance and ran off stage, but the owner very professionally, hit the reset button and the champ gathered herself, went out and tore the floor up, she KILLED it! She received the greatest applause of the night. The owner of We're Dancin would not allow any of our girls to go back out on stage to redo their dances when the teacher confused and messed them up, even though they were told they could by not one, but 2 teachers. They completely lied to them solely to 'make them quit crying' which was really sad, heartless and selfish of the owner, and the teachers! Everyone there is much more concerned with how well the competition kids do. The "regular" rec. kids are not able to learn their dances well, and were not even shown until the very last minute as the last half of our daughter's friend's dances were literally "taught" at the end of the class before the big day. This was not acceptable and as such, when the time came to perform, no one in that class even knew the correct position to stand in on stage nor their dances!!!! My sister told us that their daughters learned their routines very early on and practiced with their teachers up until the very last second, they posted videos online for them as well. Other issues that we experienced, vs. the opposite here, was a small, cramped venue (not the Auditorium Seating that we were lied to about and led to believe), NO parking at the facility that We're Dancin chose, which created a mile walk to and from our vehicles due to many being forced to park across the street at other business (Towing risk/ Liability), and their VERY HOT, "fancy" lights were placed on stage right BEHIND the dancers so that they were extremely blinding to everyone, and only those in the front row could see their child's faces or at a minimum, their costumes. It was an abysmal showing! These girls who worked so hard all year, as well as all of us parents, who paid all that money and entrusted them with our children, deserved so much better!
To summarize; we liked what we saw and our child will most likely be attending Be Famous Dance Center, alongside my neices in the upcoming dance seasons.
