Even though I liked where she was originally at, within just a few short days I noticed how much happier she is at Sharon Academy. I think the teachers really work with the kids. No matter when I drop by to get her, each teacher/caregiver is playing or working with a child. I never happen by people just chatting away while the kids cry or which I have seen at many other centers as I interviewed many. They play pretty hard when outside, so dirty clothes (although not fun to clean) tell me that she got some fresh air and played in somewhere besides just the classroom. They make crafts and do specialized learning projects it seems almost every day and the kids really are engaged. Whenever you have someone else care for your kiddo, you will never think they are perfect as you feel you should be there instead. However they are pretty fabulous and I actually feel like my daughter would be missing a lot of learning and playing opportunities if she was not there and at home instead. It is obvious how much the owners of this place care, I see them everyday helping and supporting the staff. The staff has great educational backgrounds, and when I bring my daughter home (she is only almost 15 months now) I am amazed at some of the things she has learned throughout the day like when she makes signs to songs or has learned a little dance or words, etc. GREAT PLACE which means very long wait list so get in early and you will not be disappointed. It is pricey but so is everywhere in Charlotte for quality care.

As soon as she started walking and talking, I was prepared for the next chapter--but unfortunately, what followed was a series of deeply troubling experiences. First, my 2-year-old developed unexplained black eyes. No clear incident was ever reported or explained. Not long after, she contracted a scalp ringworm infection, which I later learned was likely due to the unsanitary conditions of the daycare environment. These are serious red flags for any parent. I also had numerous unprofessional and upsetting encounters with a staff member named Victoria. She was consistently disrespectful and misused her authority. On top of that, they withheld incident reports that I am legally entitled to receive, along with financial documentation I requested. Things escalated when I pushed back against the disrespectful treatment. Because I did not respond submissively when Victoria made a demand--nor did I appreciate being dismissed when I asked to speak with someone in charge--she locked me in her office, called the police, and falsely accused me of assaulting a teacher. This was an incredibly traumatizing and unjust experience. After that, I tried to give another location a chance, specifically the one on Prosperity Church Road, hoping for better treatment. I spoke with Summer, who initially seemed professional and helpful. But sadly, our experiences only worsened at the second location. Please take this review seriously before deciding to entrust your child to either of these daycare centers. No parent should have to endure what my children and I went through.

They exceeded all expectations, and I am realizing what childcare SHOULD be like compared to the old daycare. Dogwood excels in the following areas that I find important: Communication: The staff is prompt to communicate on all platforms, through the app, email, and phone. Food: they send out the weekly meal plan, and it's always healthy and nutritious food that my son loves. He's a 99th percentile guy, and so he eats a lot and is never hungry when I pick him up (unlike our old daycare). He probably eats better than me most days here! Staff: I can't say enough great things about the management and teachers here. From the moment we walk in, there's a smiling face at the front desk available to help with anything we need. The teachers clearly love what they do, my son loves them so much. After a year of challenging drop off and pickups with tears at the old place, it's refreshing that there hasn't been a bad handoff since the 2nd week. He even tried to go back in after picking him up he likes it so much. Facility: it's a beautiful facility and CLEAN!! Ample parking, and well thought out. Photos: I have received photos every day, to me this is important as the old daycare I was lucky to get 1 photo a month. They even put little text with it sometimes. This makes going to work and leaving my son at school a lot easier. To summarize this very long review, Dogwood is excellent and my only regret is not coming here sooner. We do drive 10 minutes further because we feel the level of care our son receives is worth it.

As he has progressed through the different age groups, each and every class room has been wonderful. Teachers are always willing to communicate, we have transparency into his daily activities, we get multiple photos daily of his activities, and he is learning so much. The food they serve is healthy and my son loves it. He gets breakfast and lunch each day. All home made right at the school. Their education programming is thoughtful and fun, with themed ideas each week/month that are great. They value sensory learning at a young age and keep children engaged as they get older with one on one learning each day. They also have as few plastic toys as possible, focusing on natural materials. Overall we feel like my son is in great hands each day!!!

We've been at Primrose LW for just over 2 years now. My son has been attending since he was 3…read moremonths old. We've been in 5 different (age range) classrooms and have had an amazing experience in each one. (Young infants, older infants, young tots, older tots, and Early preschool) My son loves his teachers and his friends. They've always done hands on lesson plans, even in the young infant room. He's learned so much from being here and I have to praise the staff for that! I'm also grateful that they're willing to do the "messy" activities with the kids, ie paint, water, markers, etc that I would personally have a conniption with, at home, at his age. I've noticed, the older he's gotten, the more difficult it is to get him to "want" to go home in the evenings at pick up, solely because he enjoys his school so much. And that's a huge testament to the environment at Primrose. And while tuition can be a tough pill to swallow, I do believe the cost does go towards ensuring a high quality staff, safety standards, and learning environment. Beyond Daycare - A True Montessori Experience…read more Woods Montessori has been an amazing experience for our family. We're a one-kid household, so all of this is new to us with new routines, new expectations, new worries. The one thing we were sure about was that early education really matters, and Woods has delivered on that and then some. From school leadership to the teachers in the classroom, we've consistently felt our son is in great hands. A special shout-out to Mrs. Basma, the lead teacher in Classroom Five. She's been incredible. The growth we've seen in our son during his time with her says a lot about her as both a teacher and a person. The changes we see at home are where it really hits. Our son now pours his own milk, drinks from a glass, and loves doing "big kid" tasks. He's more independent and confident, and he's suddenly into things like trying to read, matching games, and even simple chores and watering the plants is a favorite. That feels very much like the Montessori influence coming through. As soon as he turned two, he started potty training, which is something we did not expect to go as smoothly as it has, and the school has been a huge part of that. On top of that, there are spirit weeks, events outside of school that help families and teachers connect, and playdates that have come out of the community there. None of that was on our original checklist when we were looking for daycare, but it's ended up being a big plus. Most importantly, Woods is more than just daycare. It feels like a real learning environment that actually follows Montessori, not just uses the name. If you're considering early childhood options, I'd strongly recommend taking a look at Woods Montessori. At this age, getting a good start matters, and they've given our son exactly that.
