What a wonderful place for children and families! As a very satisfied parent of 2 children that…read morecurrently attend Anami, I have been very pleased with the quality of education and warmth that they have experienced. Our children have been respected and loved, and our family has been welcomed and valued since the moment we came to the school. Both the staff and administration are professional and passionate about their roles. They genuinely care about each child and focus on meeting their specific needs. If you are a parent looking for an authentic Montessori experience for your child, Anami Montessori School is worth the visit!

My child attended this school for many years. I have a very low opinion of this school for the…read morefollowing reasons: 1) a male child exposed himself to my child and another child at this school. The school did not notify me of this issue - my child had to disclose it to me. When I told the school director about it she effectively did nothing about. Additionally, she did even notify the parents of the other effected child of the situation. 2) My child was vicitimed by a bully in her class for years. This situation resolved itself when they child left. The school's director tried many times to get me to understand that things like this happen with children and that I was blowing it out of portion. 3) My ex-spouse and I were involved in a very nasty custody battle for many years. The school and its adminstration constantly took sides. At one point when I lost custody the school's director effectively told me that the contract was with the other parent and that as such I would not receive any communication about my child and that I would be removed from the email update list and that they would not provide any updates on my child's progress. 4) Very high teacher turnover. The school only has 3 full time teachers and within a couple of years the school fired 3 teachers. 5) many parents fall into social tribes - the child see this behavoir and copy it. I found that child tended to function in groups that excluded other children. Even a teacher at the school who had children at the school were victimized by this type of ingroup/outgroup abuse by other students.

We are grateful for the amazing foundation that PPS gave him. Teachers love the children and the children love them just as much. The school's facility and grounds are extremely top- notch and impressive. The play grounds are designed with a child in mind- and are Modern, environmentally friendly and encourage creativity all while being very safe. The classrooms are good sized, inviting, full of natural light and even real fish. The rooms are designed to benefit children's development. I personally love the real birds enclosure and the Discovery Den. Take a tour, you'll be impressed.

This daycare has amazing facilities and teachers and extracurriculars and administration and... It's such a relief that my children love going to school (sometimes ask to go on Saturday). It's also a relief to see how well they are prepared for the future during this key developmental stage of life. PS the landscaping is amazing too. And the organic gardening. And weekly water play. And haircuts on site. And soccer shots on site. And Charlotte Ballet on site. And even child yoga on site. Seriously one of a kind.

I want to be clear that we had many wonderful teachers during our time there. Unfortunately, the issues with administration, staffing, communication, and consistency ultimately made us uncomfortable continuing to send our children there. Over the course of the year, there were four directors and multiple assistant changes. Our daughter had six different teachers and assistants. Children were also frequently moved between classrooms due to staffing issues, making consistency nearly impossible. Communication from administration was consistently poor. We were not informed when both of our children's teachers left on the same day, and we frequently received little or no advance notice about staffing-related classroom closures. Families were repeatedly asked to keep their children home because of staffing shortages, sometimes with notice as late as 9:30 p.m. One evening, we were not informed that our daughter's classroom would be closed until after 6:00 p.m. We are still waiting for our refund for this day despite multiple phone calls. On one occasion, administration sent a message stating that drop-off was being closed because there were not enough parent volunteers. Rather than taking responsibility for the staffing shortage that led to the closure, the communication placed the blame on families for not volunteering. Regardless of the circumstances, we found that approach concerning and reflective of the larger lack of accountability we experienced. Communication regarding illness was another major concern. We became aware that staff had been informed of both a case of croup and a case of strep in our daughter's classroom, but those exposures were never communicated to us. Classes were also routinely combined at the end of the day because of staffing shortages, including after illness exposures, resulting in children from different classrooms being grouped together exposing more children. Our experience with our son also raised serious concerns about basic attention to detail. Within his eight days attending cadence, his bathing suit was sent home with another child and took approximately three weeks and repeated follow-ups to get back. His labeled bottle was sent home with the wrong child, and a different bottle was left in his cubby. Most concerning, his feeding plan was lost. For approximately two weeks, he was not being fed according to his plan because there was no consistent person in his classroom after his teacher left. For a childcare facility, I consider losing a child's feeding instructions and not following them for two weeks to be an extremely serious issue. I understand that staffing challenges happen, and I do not expect perfection. I do expect transparency, consistency, and confidence that the people caring for my children know their individual needs. Unfortunately, we did not have that confidence at Cadence. I would not recommend Cadence to families looking for a safe, consistent, attentive, and well-managed childcare environment. We ultimately decided that the lack of stability, communication, and accountability was not worth continuing.

I felt such relief and knew that my baby was in the best hands! The infant room staff (Ms. Aury, Ms. Diamond and Ms. Brandi) are so welcoming and attentive, and truly care about each child's well-being. Every morning, my little baby would smile as soon as she was greeted by Ms. Aury. You could just feel the warmth and love radiating out of the infant room! The facility is new and very clean and we really enjoyed the daily updates and photos we received through the app. This place is very special and we are lucky to have found it. They exceeded all expectations, and I am realizing what childcare SHOULD be like compared to the old daycare. Dogwood excels in the following areas that I find important: Communication: The staff is prompt to communicate on all platforms, through the app, email, and phone. Food: they send out the weekly meal plan, and it's always healthy and nutritious food that my son loves. He's a 99th percentile guy, and so he eats a lot and is never hungry when I pick him up (unlike our old daycare). He probably eats better than me most days here! Staff: I can't say enough great things about the management and teachers here. From the moment we walk in, there's a smiling face at the front desk available to help with anything we need. The teachers clearly love what they do, my son loves them so much. After a year of challenging drop off and pickups with tears at the old place, it's refreshing that there hasn't been a bad handoff since the 2nd week. He even tried to go back in after picking him up he likes it so much. Facility: it's a beautiful facility and CLEAN!! Ample parking, and well thought out. Photos: I have received photos every day, to me this is important as the old daycare I was lucky to get 1 photo a month. They even put little text with it sometimes. This makes going to work and leaving my son at school a lot easier. To summarize this very long review, Dogwood is excellent and my only regret is not coming here sooner. We do drive 10 minutes further because we feel the level of care our son receives is worth it.

As he has progressed through the different age groups, each and every class room has been wonderful. Teachers are always willing to communicate, we have transparency into his daily activities, we get multiple photos daily of his activities, and he is learning so much. The food they serve is healthy and my son loves it. He gets breakfast and lunch each day. All home made right at the school. Their education programming is thoughtful and fun, with themed ideas each week/month that are great. They value sensory learning at a young age and keep children engaged as they get older with one on one learning each day. They also have as few plastic toys as possible, focusing on natural materials. Overall we feel like my son is in great hands each day!!!

Pros: - The classrooms here are bigger than other daycares in the area - Flexible drop off and pick up times - Offers breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the kids included in tuition - Some of the staff like the assistant director and teachers are great Cons: - Staff shortages especially in the infant room. There are times when the ratio goes beyond the state mandated 1 to 5 - Tuition increases, multiple times in a year - Teachers are supposed to send 2 pictures per day per student. On average we would get 2-3 pictures per week. - Incident reports (reports to parents when child gets hurt) were no longer sent home to us. Our child came home with a quarter sized raw scape on her knee without any report. - Outdated security measures and check in - Director is not properly trained and does not do her job well. She did not treat parents fairly and would not respond to emails sent multiple times For the price you pay $1400 a month, you will find newer facilities that just opened in the area with updated security measures, cameras, much better student to teacher ratios, and quality management.
