I Am Wearing My New Glasses as I Type This. Lake Travis Eye…read moreCare is a great place. Great location (in the same parking lot at P Terry's near Lake Travis High School), easy parking right out front, and a professional office. To address Sarah-from-Chicago's review about the office not being a friendly place for a 3-year-old and that is understandable. There are frames to choose from all along the walls where you can pull them down and try them on. Common courtesy tells you that you shouldn't let a three year old pull the glasses down off the wall and that if the child does that, they are actually "hurting" something despite the child not having yet put them under the mother's car tire. Also ... That is very strange about them wanting to charge $5 to adjust her mother's glasses and maybe that was a misunderstanding. Anyway, the employees at Lake Travis Eye Care were caring and hard working to help me and my husband with what we needed. We both did our eye appointments and then chose our glasses. It took 8 business days until our glasses were ready to pick up -- and my husband's has all the bells and whistles (not literally). I would recommend this place.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gibson's since she opened her business. I have always had great…read moreservice and she is very thorough and kind to me and my daughter. More impressive is that my daughter suffers from a rare eye disorder that causes 2 rows of lashes to grow on her upper and lower lids. This causes painful swelling, irritation and damage to the cornea. So whenever the lashes decided to grow, the only way to relieve the pain is by having Dr. Gibson pluck them out with delicate precision. I never know when my daughter will call and say "Mon,my eye is swelling, there is a lash or lashes scratching my lens." EVERYTIME this has occurred,Dr. Gibson happily makes room in her schedule to fit us in and carefully extract the rogue lashes from her eye (typically 6-8) as this is the only way to stop the pain and get back to life as usual.

I really wanted to have a better experience here, but unfortunately, it turned into a long and…read morefrustrating process that never resulted in a proper outcome. I initially came in for an eye exam in August 2025 and had no issues getting my contact lens prescription, which I use daily. However, when my allergies flared up later in the year, I reached out to get my glasses prescription so I could switch over. That's where things started to go wrong. The prescription I received included a pupillary distance (PD) that was not actually measured--it appeared to be defaulted. At the time, I didn't know this, so I used the prescription to order glasses online. When they arrived, I couldn't see out of them at all. When I went back in, the PD issue was acknowledged as a likely cause, but I was also told the prescription itself was "accurate," which was confusing given the incorrect measurement. To their credit, they remade the lenses for two pairs of glasses, and I also purchased a third pair in-store using my insurance. Unfortunately, even with updated PD measurements, none of the glasses worked. My vision felt completely distorted--like looking through a funhouse mirror--and it was honestly not safe to drive. I returned multiple times for adjustments, including changes to the prescription, but nothing resolved the issue. I was repeatedly told to "give it time," even though the problem clearly wasn't minor adjustment discomfort. On top of that, communication and wait times became another issue. During one visit, I waited about 45 minutes without any update, only to find out staff was tied up and short-handed. That should have been communicated upfront. I will say that Kevin and Ashley were kind, empathetic, and genuinely tried to help throughout the process. I appreciate their efforts. However, the overall experience still fell short. What was most disappointing was the response when I called to ask what could be done about the money I had spent on lenses that still didn't work. I was told it might be best to "put a stop" to further adjustments since they had already paid out of pocket--despite the fact that these issues were not caused by me. That response felt dismissive and unprofessional given the situation. I ultimately sought a second opinion elsewhere and immediately experienced a higher level of care, attention to detail, and accuracy. I think the biggest takeaway is this: when it comes to vision, precision and thoroughness are critical. Measurements like PD should always be properly taken, and when something clearly isn't working, patients should feel supported--not dismissed.

Super easy to make appointments online, I do wish they have an automated text message reminder…read morethough because I honestly forgot about it. No big deal though, they didn't think much of it and you can reschedule on the phone/online. Clean and organized offices, relatively short wait time (less than 10 mins after check-in), and I feel like everyone who works there genuinely enjoys their job. It feels a bit of a manufacturing line - you get seen by an assistant first to go over a bunch of standard questions, a quick eye scan (there is one x-ray that costs an extra $39 which kind of is glossed over but optional). Then the optometrist comes in and reviews the x-ray and does the more thorough eye exam. As for the brands they carry in-store: Oliver Peoples, Ray-Ban, Maui Jim, Chanel, Tom Ford, Prada, Gucci, Paul Smith, Catch London, Oakley, Via Spiga, MaxMara, and their own line. Trying on a pair of frames with the numbers on file is also relatively quick, but I also felt like when they itemize the cost, it's all chicken scratch. They literally look up numbers in a binder, and then scribble out the lens cost, material, anti-scratch, anti-glare, transitional, etc on your print-out. In this day and age, I think a template on the computer screen shouldn't be too hard to look at together?
