OH BABY! On a Memory Lane road trip in Binghamton, and back to BAGEL HEAVEN today! :-D
    Tara K.

We lived in the Binghamton NY area for about ten years. But it's been about ten years since then. You know what food from this area I still miss the most?? THESE BAGELS. Back when I was in town, it was called 'Best Bagels in Town', which was entirely accurate. I'd argue best bagels in the state. And beyond! No joke, they have people drive in from NYC area for these bagels. They bagel-it-RIGHT, for sure! Now rebranded to BC Bagel, they are still THE BEST. Beyond the perfect bagels, all still baked in-house daily, they make about a dozen-plus cream cheese spreads, too. And no need to ask for extra, the standard topping is not a mere smear--it's an ice-cream-scoop-sized-dollop!! The doughy ample bagels and abundance of cream cheese is gluttony at its finest. I went with my ole' fave, a blueberry bagel with plain cream cheese--it was pure-bagel-TRANSCENDENT. The crisp outside, the sweet doughy middle, the toasted-toasty'ness, all melded together with a ton of tangy cream cheese ... YUM, and then some! In addition to bagels and cream cheese, they have several breakfast and lunch sandwiches too. I had a veggie bagel on a wheat bagel, which was generously topped with fresh, crisp veggies, cheese, and I added cream cheese. My husband had the traditional lox on an onion bagel. The lox and cream cheese were thick, smooth, and salty. As a fresh fish fan, he was totally pleased with this bagel traditional treat. So to my BUFFALO NY AREA YELP FRIENDS--WE NEED TO START A PETITION TO BRING BC BAGELS TO THE 716!! WE HAVE NOTHING LIKE IT HERE!! It would undoubtedly be a fantastic addition to our splendid city!! :-O :-O :-O On the other hand, if BC Bagels does make it to Buffalo someday, boy am I in trouble, HA!! Until then, I have the BC Bagels souvenir tee shirt I bought to cherish the memories. And I very much look forward to our occasional roadtrips through Binghamton for these otherworldly BEST bagels I've ever had. Well done BC Bagels, WELL DONE!!

Love this place I come here every year on my birthday for breakfast before school and have a great day after. The workers are so nice and friendly and very patient. Can't wait to come back!

the service and food was good but the owner made the lobby feel uncomfortable by hearing his yelling and rude remarks from the back

Not a bad place to get breakfast I've been getting a breakfast here about once a week for a few months, and I have not been disappointed.

Bagels are great. Staff seemed a little confused. Waited 10 minutes for two bagels with cream cheese, with no one else in the store.

Bagels were so so and lox cream cheese needs a lot more lox in it. The lox tasted like regular cream cheese and it was kinda expensive

As luck would have it, it was Binghamton Restaurant Week and we attempted a walk in - first available was three+ hours later - but the hostess mentioned we could get the RW menu at the bar and two seats were calling. Lots of choices on the menu but friend and I ended up having the same meal! Cup of Cauliflower, potato and leek soup to start was yummy - very comforting, not too thick, good flavor - I could have stopped here! But fortunately did not! Main was spectacular! Salmon with everything bagel spices served over pearl couscous in a risotto style was inspired (honestly, I will try this at home)! I hope this is a menu regular because I will crave this for many more meals! Add a black Manhattan and this meal is a treat! (Took the dessert course to go - blueberry cronuts were better than chocolate but both likely suffered a wee bit from loss of ambiance and slight steaming that occurred on drive - good for sure but did not compare to the rest of the meal). Shout out to Tommy F for exceptional service - attentive but not intrusive. Ambiance is lovely (the lighting dimmed as we sat - hysterical) but we also scored the most comfortable seats in the house (I hate a high top stool with no back and no padding on the seat - those stools look nice but should go away). Also love the hook under the bar.

I think it was Lauren, she was nice enough but did not go above and beyond for her customers. She did not want to move us to a more comfortable table, despite our requesting multiple times and the place was literally empty. Finally she was able to make it happen but it was already unpleasant. She was good with bringing us hot waters with lemon as requested, but there was zero proactiveness to refill the hot water or any of the iced water. It was like us going out and trying to please the waitstaff. She did make a good suggestion for the lavender gimlet cocktail. Overall disappointing.

Our server name was Dawn, we both ordered the fish dinner mine I got fried, which came with the salad bar. Before our meal came we both decided to have a salad(lettuce, tomato, cheese and croutons). After our 1 bowl of salad our food comes. MY FISH WAS HORRIBLE!!! It was so soggy and mushy...just gross, I've never had fried fish that was mushy, it taste like they soaked it in water for forever. So while my husband sat and ate his grilled fish I had nothing to eat because my waitress decided to go on a cigarette break after she dropped our food off. About 20 min later she finally returns and I tell her what's wrong with my food, and ask her if she can just take it off(since I didn't eat any of it) and just charge me for the bowl of salad. Ms Dawn decided instead of changing me for the 1 bowl of salad I had, she was going to charge me $10 for the entire salad bar. I didn't have pasta, or soup or anything else...just 1 bowl of salad. $10.50 for 1 bowl of lettuce with tomatoes cheese and croutons. Such a RIP OFF!!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN...WARNING THEY ARE A RIP OFF!!! DONT GO!!!
