Luckily not much was taken but the damage to the driver door made it impossible for me to safely leave the van parked outside overnight. I was freaking out a bit because my work schedule the week of the break-in was so crazy, I wasn't sure how I could make time to deal with it. I called the guys at Boyd(I dealt with Robin) and he helped me figure out a way to get the van to them quick and easy, with little to no disruption to my schedule. That to me is worth its weight in gold. The repairs were done within a few days and they even took the time repair something else within the cabin that wasn't covered under ICBC(a small task to them but would have been much more difficult for me to try and repair). Break/ins happen, and it sucks, but when you've got guys like these on your side it sucks much less:)

My most recent visit they suggested that I get a paint pen from the dealer to match the car's paint, and they did an amazing job at concealing a few minor scrapes for me (no added charge beyond the ICBC deducible for the collision repair). I…read morequickly scanned around and my eyes fell on this crack with its spidery legs expanding out to a size of a loonie....AHHH!!! Lesson learned: Next time, be careful of driving near/behind construction trucks, who knows what could be flying out of their open top trailers. So this is the story that led me to Broco, a small garage on Marine Drive. They lent me one of their courtesy cars which required no paperwork for me to sign or acknowledge -- so in essence, I could have gotten tickets for the courtesy car without worrying to pay it! But of course, that was just a thought. It seemed a bit shady at first, without being able to see structure and procedure from how they took my car, inspected it without taking any notes and assigned me to a courtesy car. Service is ok, workmanship is ok -- at least the customer service I get is better than those from huge chain garages who'd turn their nose up at the ICBC claims jobs that does not give them much cash.

The aftermath was a big yellow reminder of my own stupidity; it also appeared to have scratched down to the metal. I came in for a verbal estimate for the repair; it was quite high as I expected it to be. The guy who gave me the estimate asked how important the repair was. When I told him I was worried about rust, he informed me that the scratched piece was in fact plastic so there was no risk of rust. He then offered to do a quick coverup right there and then for free! It was done in less than 30 minutes and you can't even tell where it happened! This was a very rare experience for me and since they wouldn't take any money, the least I can do is share this positive experience! Hopefully I won't have to come back for auto body repairs but with crazy yellow parkade poles out there hitting drivers at random, I probably will and I'll definitely come back here. There was also an indicator which kept flashing on the dash board. John (the manager) checked on that for me and sent me a YouTube video which explained what that was. It reassured me that my car was ok and there was no other trouble to it related to the accident. It took a few days for the car to be fixed and I was given a courtesy car from Enterprise. The staff arranged everything and even took care of returning the rental car when my car was ready for pick up.
