I would give it 0 stars if I could. I got hired here 2023 and worked until may 2024. The manager Jermey was absolutely rude. I had an incident where I was working produce and a lady with 2 cops behind her was touching me and thinking I was someone she knew and I walked away crying and no manager did a god damn thing to keep me safe. I've been shopping at this store for the last 15 years and saved a lot of money on groceries and vitamins for my family. In the last 8 months multiple items have gone up not once but twice and sometimes 3 times in a matter of a month. I can understand inflation after the Covid Era and price increases but raising the price several times in a month just seems greedy. I can go to a regular store and buy medicine and vitamins for my family that are over a year in date and use double coupons and other special offers and pay almost the same price for the same exact product with a lot longer expiration date. This store used to have a Wow Factor and saved me tons of money. I will start shopping elsewhere where I can spend the same amount or a few dollars more and not be buying close dated or expired groceries and medicine. read more

Some businesses are handling covid very well (I'm talking to you Wegmans!), other's not so much. BB's unfortunately falls in the later category and even goes beyond as they have the worst covid era business practices I've ever encountered. Sure, they have the signs up to social distance and that masks are required but it's all hodgepod! Many of the employees (Amish mostly) are completely maskless, other's in shields, the ones wearing masks had their noses out. They have the plexiglass but don't wipe down between customers, or the keypad. They do not clean carts. There's a stand for cart wipes which were empty (thank goodness I carry my own) and many, many customers were maskless and crammed together digging thru the huge boxes of stock. When I mentioned to my shielded cashier if anything is done to enforce masks she just laughed and said no. It was obviously her 20 something year old self shares her employer's view of not taking covid seriously. On a side note - people continue to let their children run wild, up and down isles, rolling on the floor, getting in the way. Unmasked children were in abundance and were at the age (8 years and up) that should be wearing masks. Unruly children are something you kinda got to expect at discount retailers of any kind but here they seem to travel in herds. So while I love a bargain and a pre covid BB's, my next visit will be after the vaccine. A bargain isn't worth a trip to the ICU. The store is about a hour drive for us but even with the cost of gas it was well worth going to shop there. They have a great selection of things to buy we spent $110 there but had i been shopping at our local places we shop my bill would have been more the triple that. I enjoy the "hunt" at BBs. Never know what I'll find but I can rely on produce and cheese. I get what I can there then get whatever I can't get there somewhere else. I check expiration dates but have found some really good bargains there. I've also found good products that I didn't know about or wouldn't have tried otherwise. Such an interesting place & you can find all kinds of bargains. Not everything is out-dated or close-dated- just read labels before you buy.. I like their cheeses, snacks, lunch meats, salad dressings, yogurt deals, butter, & keurig pods. It is always hit or miss hoping that have certain items. Once I bought about 16 Desert Pepper Salsa Verde b/c they were less than $1 each & often over $5 in a store...not outdated! Last week I bought six 32-count Keurig pod packs of Starbucks Veranda Blend (slightly outdated but fine!) coffee at $8 each...heck the small 10 pack almost runs that high. read more

Bb's is my ULTIMATE favorite place to shop! I just drove up from FL, where I currently live and will always stop in when I'm back in the area! I grew up shopping at BB's and it has saved my family a LOT over the years! I love the amazing prices and the organic options that I didn't have growing up!! I love the whole experience of going into the Amish place and seeing all of the Amish people! FYI, all of the poorly rated reviews about the people scared about COVID... The Amish don't have TV's and smartphones so they weren't brainwashed about a so-called "pandemic" which was really a plandemic. If you didn't have TV/news to indoctrinate you, you wouldn't believe in COVID either. I shut off my TV and news after 2 weeks, never wore a mask and was around several family members who had COVID multiple times, including my parents who are in their 60's and 70's! I love supporting businesses that allow you to choose what is best for yourself. That's how every place should be since we're in America!! Would you like to catch COVID-19? This is the place. I went there today for the first time since March and a full third of the customers were not wearing any masks at all, and their kids were wiping their noses and then putting their hands all over stuff. I asked one woman if she had a mask and she said she had cancer so she couldn't wear one. IF YOU HAVE CANCER YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN A GROCERY STORE AT ALL, MUCH LESS UNMASKED. Many of the employees were either not wearing masks or not wearing them properly. There is no social distancing anywhere - not at the cashiers, not in the aisles. I asked a stockroom person and a cashier about it and they said the owner had decided to make masks optional. Hi, it's state law. This is not your choice. FYI, this was a day after the president announced he was infected. This has always been my favorite BB's and I schlep 90 minutes to get there because of their freezer section but they clearly have no intention of following state law and don't care about their customers OR their employees. In the middle of a pandemic with cases rising in Pa, BB's grocery store has postings at door to wear a mask, But they dont enforce mask wearing or social distancing. 25% of people were not wearing masks there today. I asked the manager if they enforce mask wearing, she said "she cant by law" We Wont be back! I feel sorry for the workers, who are at risk of getting covid because management doesnt care. read more

Prices were great for some items but not s very friendly environment. Shoppers are pushy. Also had terrible experience with customer in restroom. My young daughter had to use the restroom so I took her in the handicap stall so I could help her. An older women came in and was extremely rude. She could not see us but was making comments. So I asked her politely to not be rude. She did not have a walker or a wheel chair but kept saying it's for handicap people. I said that young people can be handicap as well. COVID update. went to BB's March 20,2020, mid-day. BB's is still and always be the ultimate grocery shop. All persons that work there , wear masks. There are several washing down shopping carts with bleach. People seem to adhere to social distancing inside the store. The cashiers have plexie glass barriers between shopper and checkout. Although we no longer live in Pennsylvania, I recently rediscovered BBs Grocery Outlet. We took the hour long drive from our house to the store one Saturday and we were so glad we went! Prices are insanely low and you can save a bundle on groceries. You do have to check expiration dates on everything however but that's a small price to pay for how much you save! We have also noticed, in subsequent visits, that sometimes BBs carries more variety in a certain area (i.e, boxed Mac n cheese) than others, so what bargains you'll find depends on the inventory the day you go. Definitely worth the trip! read more

This place is amazing! the prices are perfect for families on a budget! I am a chef and am always finding amazing things to cook up in their fridge and freezer section and the spice shelves are always stocked with great and interesting finds. what's even better is they don't enforce masks. they don't treat you like a preschooler they treat you like an adult who can make their own decisions. listen people, if you don't like the mask policy they have in place, don't go. there are plenty of anti maskers I know that are more than happy to support such an amazing business!! read more

Great place to go if looking to cut down on your monthly grocery budget. But, the last two times I visited I was overcharged on items. Once I had 12 items of noodles and a young lady rang it up as 16. The last time I was there was yesterday morning. This time I found on my receipt that an older lady who checked me out had charged me for 4 bags of spinach when I clearly had 3. I'm not sure if they are trained to ring up extra items to be more profitable or the staff just has trouble counting items. Hoping my next few trips will be more accurately checked out. Nice place to shop for some things. I purchased several boxes of Jiffy pie crust mix, some corn bread mix and 6 boxes of cereal. Thought I got a great deal, when we got home kept smelling a perfume smell it was coming from the jiffy mix boxes threw them away (all were within ex date) Made corn bread yesterday couldn't eat them tasted like perfumed soap. Went thru cereal and found 3 that had odor threw them away. The store has a soap or cleaner smell so its hard to tell in the store if the boxes smell. All the hard packed goods seem to be ok. My advice would be to stay away from boxed bargains. read more

based on the rave review of a friend i was really excited to come here. i tried once on a saturday and there was literally no where to park (so full) that i decided to come back another day, and i did so on a wednesday around 10 am. even then it was extremely full, very few spots for cars or buggies were left! it is worth a trip here at least once to see the spectacle: people running around looking for the best deals, going through huge bins of soap or foods. but it's just kind of strange. and also dirty. and everything is out of date or extremely short dated (one week ahead of time is about the best you will find on dry goods). i was actually not that impressed on their prices for laundry detergent but i did get some good deals on dog food and a watermelon for $2. so if you don't care about expiration dates and are looking for a bargain you will love this place. however, if expired dates weird you out you're not going to find a lot. read more

My wife and I have been going to BB's since it was an old converted barn way off the beaten path (Back then, cereal actually sold at 25 cents a box). It's a great source for finding discounts. And for people who like to sample different foods and products without paying full price, it's a charm. They do charge full price if they don't buy it on discount, so you have to know prices. Regards out of date items, the dates on many products are simply so grocers clear their shelves and don't actually reflect any concern about spoilage. Still, we avoid old items that contain mayo and rusty cans. Use them as a once-per-month grab-a-bargain place, but cannot rely on them to always have what you want. read more
