My husband and I came from out of town to Quarryville and stopped into giant for a few items. We just wanted to comment on a sales associate named Janet, working at the register. I live on the other side of the river and have a Giant closer to me, however, I like to shop at the Quarryville location as it has a better selection of organic products, which I typically purchase. Last night I shopped after working all day at my job and filled my cart with over $300 worth of groceries to find when I went to the front to check out before 8 pm that they had no cashiers working the register. Another customer walked up behind me and said, "Yes, that's a lot to ring up. Customer Service should be able to ring you up." As I started to walk to customer service I noticed an employee standing up in front of the registers. I said "Hi, can someone ring me up?" She responded, "Sorry, our last cashier just clocked out." I responded with "Well, I won't be ringing up all of these groceries. I will need someone to ring them up for me." She again responded with "Sorry, there is no one here to do that for you." I'm sorry, but if you EXPECT customers to basically work there for free ringing up their own groceries, why can't an employee do that? I can understand if I had a few items, but an entire basket of food????!! And honestly, there should ALWAYS be an employee at a register until closing time. That is good customer service. So with that, I said "Well then I guess I can just leave my basket here, correct?" and moved it next to a register. Her eyes got big and she said "Um.. yes." and I proceeded to leave the store. Not a wise move on her end. She would have been smarter, and much better customer service as a paid employee to ring up the items that would have covered her salary for the night and some, than having to put all the items back on the shelves. Unless they just dump them in the trash. Nowadays, I wouldn't put it past them to do that. read more

Mostly a decent grocery store with good employees. So, why the 1 star? We do a grocery order for pickup, and there is seldom a week that goes by where the pricing in the cart matches the sales flier. Most weeks there are several items on sale that show up for more than listed. Some weeks, it's a LOT of items. This week it's roughly 80% of the sale items whose prices are not changed in the cart to reflect the sales. I learned to watch every item closely as I add it, but this is ridiculous. Billy-Joe-Bob's Bait, Tackle, and Discount IT Emporium strikes again! Oh, and yes, I have tried to bring this to Giant's attention multiple times via e-mail. Never once a response of any kind. They just don't seem to care. Shop there if you like, but watch that pricing like a hawk. It's NEVER a mistake in the customers favor. read more

This store is continuously out of items! Don't even think about shopping on a Sunday because there are no registers available for check out while you wait in line for a half hour. Giant was always my go to store but not this one. read more

The Buck store.Felt like an unvalued customer! The cashier said hello when I first entered the check out. The entire rest of the time he was speaking to 2 other employees while checking me out, turning his back to me. I can see why some people prefer self-check out, no one ignores them there! read more

We just moved here from New London Nottingham area. We used Giant in Jennersville and Martin's in Rising Sun. We loved shopping at Giant we like the points section. But we noticed a few times outdated items on the shelves. Several workers with attitudes and didn't want to be bothered. Martin's was ok. It didn't have a great selection of item that we liked, so we would have to go to another store to get it. We bought a house in Quarryville and we are exploring the area. We use the Giant here and it's Great! We love how big it is and all the different choices it offers. I have to be careful or all spend a lot lol. Everyone has been nice. read more

This is for the Giant on friendly drive in quarryville. I won $3000 on a scratch off ticket, took it in too cash it in. I filled out the proper claim form and told them I wanted too send it in myself, but was told I could not do that since they ran it thru the machine. I was told this 3 times by the girl waiting on me and she even called Kelly, who said the same. I was assured they would handle it immediately. Leftbwuth a copy of the claim form and a week later lottery calls too say they received my claim form but Not the ticket attached. Went straight too giant and the girl who waited on me before was there and I told her I wanted a copy of the ticket and also a copy of the claim form. She said oh I didn't keep our copy and I don't know where the ticket is. She called a manager named Nikki up and she reviewed the cameras and found me on tape. So after about 30 minutes they magically found my ticket. But wouldn't give it too me. I told her I wanted the ticketed and wanted too send it myself. She refused. I went out and called lottery and told them she refused too give me the ticket, at which point was told too go in and give her my phone because he wanted too talk too her because they couldn't refuse too give me my ticket. Went back and she peeks out the office door and informs me regardless of what they say she us not releasing MY ticket too me!! The gentleman at the lottery office called her, and apparently was told the same things so lottery actually had too excalate my complaint . She never released rhe ticket too me but a higher up from lottery called me and said she is handling it and it was being sent directly too her and all is being handled thru her. Nikki acted like it was coming out of her pocket, and apparently she was above whatever lottery procedure you are too follow. And they are too keep thebyellow copy of the claim form, too make a copy of the ticket, and if you want too mail it in its your right. So be careful if you are cashing in at that store. If I wouldn't have followed thru and excalated the situation , without the actual ticket Lottery could actually deny my claim. read more

I thought the problems that plagued Giant was limited to the Centerville, Lancaster location. So when I found myself in the southern end and in a time crunch needing a few groceries I didn't expect any issues. Apparently this store has some issues which started at the door. Where are the cart wipes? And why the sign in the vestibule saying these carts are sanitized yet there's no sign on where to put used carts? Because of this folks are returning used carts to the same vestibule that is supposed to house sanitized. Second issue. I didn't even get one isle in and already saw three people unmasked. Fifteen minutes later when leaving that count was up to 5. Third issue: went to get some sliced mango's. Usually they're $3.99 or so for small pack. This location only had the large pack for $10, non of which were even ripe. Who in their right mind is going to spend that much money on mango's? Do they even ripen after they're cut? These were so unripe they were light yellow and green. So when the mango's don't sell they'll be tossed. What a waste and poor judgment on Giant's part. Fourth issue: why is it so hard for Giant to keep their shelves stocked? I know we're in a pandemic but damn! Other stores don't have the supply issues this chain does. The pasta isle was all but empty. I swear I spotted a tumbleweed floating by. Taco sauce was non existent as well. So of the 8 things I needed, two were completely out and had no substitutions Fifth issue: decided to grab some cold subs for the road since we were still out and about and it was past lunch. I can't stand a dry sub so I went to the carry out condiment station and grabbed a few blue packets of "mayo", only to get in the car and wonder why it's so lumpy while I'm spreading it on my sub. Low and behold it's tarter sauce! They don't even sell fish sandwiches so why have tarter sauce at the condiment station at all?!?! Not to mention, where was the mayo and why isn't a pack automatically included in the wrapped sub?!?!? Sixth issue: with the lottery amount up so high we've been playing when we normally don't. I had a few tickets with me I needed to check so I proceeded to customer service. The girl took my tickets, walked away, and with her back towards me checked them on her screen and threw them away. One out of the 10 tickets with multiple plays was an $8 winner. I had to ask her TWICE for the discarded tickets. Does someone really think I would trust that a winning ticket wasn't kept back for yourself especially since I couldn't see if any were winning?!??? Don't automatically assume someone doesn't want their tickets, and why place the machine out of eyesight of the customer? And lastly......with my $8 winnings I wanted to buy a few more chances but couldn't. Why? Because they only offer scratch off tickets in a machine and not the pick a number lottery. So why have a machine to check for winners at all for a product you don't sell?!? Unbelievable! So thankful there's so many other grocery options in Lancaster County because Giant seriously sucks. read more

You can literally see the mold on their berries, and their herbs are wilting. How do the locals accept having rotten food in the open? Yuck!

Nothing seems fresh...same as the other's I have visited. Stauffer's Of Kissel Hill or Strasburg Market is a much better choice for your money. read more
