After a brief tour of the spa, I was introduced to my massage therapist, Gita, who welcomed me very pleasantly. She took me into the room and explained that the technique is designed to stimulate the lymphatic system to help my body flush out excess fluids and toxins. She was extremely knowledgeable and eased any uncertainties I had at the beginning. I'm more accustomed to deep tissue massages, and the pressure of this is much lighter and more soothing. The actual massage felt amazing! I started in a face-up position, and Gita used a body brush first with lots of long strokes, especially around my stomach, legs, arms, and back. Each time she finished brushing a body part, she followed that up with adding lotion and doing the same motions with her hands only. It was very relaxing and almost put me to sleep a few times! The foot massage was wonderful also! She then moved to my face where she gave me a mini-facial using aromatherapy, a cleanser, hot towel & moisturizer. She used two different instruments on my face...a warm one and then a cold one, and both were refreshing. She finished off with a facial mist. She also used her stroke technique on my collar bone and towards my armpits which she said had lots of lymph nodes. After that, I flipped to a face-down position, where she did the same brush strokes and lotion on the back of my body. I really liked when she worked on my upper back, because the brush and then lotion strokes felt really good; next, she put a hot towel on my back, which felt like it melted any remaining tensions away! When my time was up, I felt completely relaxed but with more energy! Gita told me to make sure I stay hydrated to help with the lymphatic drainage. My digestive system seemed to be really happy these last few days, because everything's moving pretty fast! Now to the actual massage, first and foremost, lipomassage is not meant to make you lose weight! It's meant to reduce Inflammation of all sorts and boost your healing from inside out. Many people suffer from pain, swelling, lumps etc. This machine works to reduce all sorts of Inflammation. From my experience, I noticed after my massage I feel swollen but within 24 to 48hrs, the swelling reduced and I saw better results as I got more massages. You can't just come once and expect a miracle... remember Rome isn't built in one day! So if you expect to see results, you have to get enough treatment package. I purchased a package of 10 sessions which ran for 35mins. I started seeing big results on my lumps and swelling with diet and exercise at session 5. It is very important to drink alot of water because lipomassage is a lymphatic drainage massage. It helps aid your body to flow the right way and drinking water allows your body to excrete toxins etc. I have no regrets choosing to get this massage because my mind is already set on a healthy lifestyle not a "diet".
