Excellent Korean fried chicken! I ordered some wings to go and my friends and I absolutely loved them! I was delighted by the clean, well kept interior of the store. The selection of flavors and side dishes is also really impressive. All the items seemed really tasty--making it almost impossible to go wrong when picking an order. I particularly enjoyed the cheesling flavor; it was experimental, but stilll tasted really classically crafted and sophisticated in flavor design. I liked how the cheese rub didn't taste too cheesy, but instead tasted like a delicate blend of sweet and salty. The galbi and soy garlic wings were also pretty solid, but there's plenty wing flavor options if you have more of an adventurous taste. The crunch on each bite was also really great. Even when I took it home and waited for guests, the texture and crunchiness preserved well. Especially with a quick punch in the air fry. Came here with my friend and her daughter because she loves tteokbokki and Korean fried chicken. The worker was so helpful and kind, so I have nothing but good things to say about him! The food however was really bad tonight. Not sure if it's because I've never ordered any of these items before, but it was near inedible. We ordered: - sweet potato fries (this was the best thing from our order) - 5 pc drumsticks (very little sauce and no flavor once biting in. It also tasted a little undercooked because it was pink and slimy, so couldn't eat more than a bite) - regular tteokbokki (flavor was fine but the rice cake was over cooked with barely any sauce) This was pretty disappointing given we came super hungry, especially the kids. I just hope it was an off night in the kitchen because the drumsticks were so bad for a chicken spot. I ordered delivery recently and was disgusted with the food. Paid $50 before tip for "18" wings with zero sides. I've never seen wings that tiny, were the size of a thumb with only veins and no meat. It was disgusting. Again, the food was disgusting. I lived in a different city for years and enjoyed the bb.q chicken there, where they breaded and fried decently sized juicy chicken that were edible. The "18" wings fed 1 person and left them hungry. BBQ is def one of the grandfathers of KFC Korean Fried Chicken in LA, and they do it right. Its a tight call between Bonchon and BBQ Chicken. Been to the Cerritos location few times, last time tried the Gang-Jeong and Secret Spicy. I prefer the spicy, the Gang-Jeong was ok for me, something about the cinnamon in the sauce just meh. Some other bits of bacon I think scattered about. Overall, really solid but pricy at $15.99 and likely won't try again. - Spicy Galbi wings: Tasted like an elevated bbq sauce with a little heat at the end. Didn't really taste like Galbi that I'm used to but still quite scrumptious. Perfectly breaded and exploding with juice. - Soy Garlic Wings: The highlight and a 5 star meal by itself. Had just a touch of honey or sugar to provide a sweet edge but the garlic taste is so plentiful. Big hit for Garlic lovers like me. Every dish was $15.99 which was quite pricy and we were given only one radish serving which was demolished quickly. Also no mixing of flavors within one order which is just greedy. This used to be our go-to Korean chicken takeout spot, but sadly, not anymore. They no longer include the complimentary Korean pickled radish, which was always part of the experience. What happened to that Korean generosity? The chicken itself also isn't as good as it used to be. It used to be super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, but lately it just hasn't been as juicy or satisfying. I can't remember which spicy flavor we ended up going with but it was spicy spicy, and I like to eat spicy lol. Getting extra pickled radishes are a must! The kimchi fried rice was very flavorful but it felt a little mushie from the cheese, still delish though. This particular location is really cool, and I'd be lying if I said this wasn't the backup option for me when I can't get a quick enough table for the other places around it. But honestly, this place is super reliable, and I appreciate that. I've been here a number of times and I'm always greeted to warm and patient workers, big portions, and hot food. It's honestly old reliable at this point. Both delicious with the honey garlic slightly better. Wings are large so you do not need many to fill you up.
