I'd called this a "cutting", not a "grooming". The only reason I'd suggest coming here is if you want literally nothing other than hair being shortened/removed from your dog. If you want it to be neat, look well-kept, tame, or anything other than "make hair shorter", look elsewhere. This is my first experience here, and it's so funny that I can't even be upset. It was only $30 for a "puppy cut", and it seems like a bath. When I called on March 15th, the next availability was May 20th. For a $30 cut with 4.5 stars? Yeah, I can see how the wait would be long. We got our dog back, and wow. There's a couple random long strands, whatever, but the "blending" (or lack thereof) is *very* noticeable. Similarly, the hair around her upper legs and bum "flare" out in a pretty funny way. She looks hilarious. Still some pretty harsh tear stains around the eyes. read more

It is very clear that they love what they do and they have just been so great to all of my dogs over the years. Look at how pretty my fur baby is! I did a double-take because I didn't know he was mine! Biscuit is about 7 years old and I had always groomed his hair myself. I've been missing out! These ladies are not only the sweetest and most patient people ever, but they groom AMAZINGLY! I was pleasantly surprised at how much they did for such an affordable price. I was also surprised that they were able to do so much with my nervous wreck of a dog. I absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a great pet salon. Bayview is AMAZING! We used them for about a year. And never had any issues! They took great care of our boy. He was mouthy, hated being in a kennel, had terrible separation anxiety, but they took wonderful care of him. They got him in and out as quickly as possible, well as quickly as you can with an 80lb German shepherd. They called us as soon as he was done. They baby talked him. Everyone there is so friendly. You walk in. Everyone talks to you. You feel good about leaving your fur baby there. Our sweet boy always looked nice, smelled amazing, and had the cutest bandana on. We booked once a month with bayview. The best hole in the wall salon and bang for your buck you could ask for. Definitely worth looking into. And you will love it!! read more

This is a great small business which is run by the kind of people who truly care about you and your pet. Staff are so sweet, they all know you and your pet by name as soon as you walk in the door. My pets look and smell fabulous. The lady was very sweet and was able to work with me to take my dogs together so my little chicken shits didn't get anxious without each other! My dogs have such separation anxiety from not only me, but also each other. My dogs were way past their grooming schedule due to moving across country. I was embarrassed by how bad my dogs looked but they treated me with understanding and compassion. I absolutely love Bayview Pet Salon. When I first got my dog (George) I went to several grooming places and it always seemed to turn into a big, expensive hassle. I actually drove by Bayview Pet Salon and a sign was outside proclaiming '$25 Pet Grooming' so I decided to give it a go. 3 years later I am still taking George here. Linda (the owner) is always very nice, knows my dog by name as soon as we walk in and is willing to answer any questions I may have. I will call about a week in advance so that I can make him a weekend appointment. I usually drop George off on a Saturday or Sunday morning and get a call within three hours that he is ready to be picked up. He has his ears cleaned, his teeth cleaned, nails clipped, bath, and a 'schnauzer trim'. I happened to stumble upon this place when Siri suggested it. When I called, they were very quick to accomodate my dogs, getting me in the next morning. I asked how much it would cost and they said anywhere from 25-35 dollars. Let me start off by saying, if you DO NOT like crating your dogs, you won't want to come here. They crate them for everyone safety. I, honestly, don't mind since mine get crated when I leave. Secondly, if you want a fancy, posh, upscale salon, this is not your place. With that being said, the shop is family run. The groomers who were working were super friendly, asking about my dogs, what they normally get, how I'd like them to look and any issue they have (thankfully, none). She then came around and loved on them, and took them back. A few hours later, they called me and told me they were ready. When I picked them up I can not express how freaking cute they looked. She cut them exactly how I asked and even put little christmas bandanas on them. It ended up being 55 for both dogs, which in this town is a steal. I've paid 90 and about had a heart attack. The service they did was wash, clean their ears, anal expression, trim the nails, and groom. Seriously, it's everything you need/want and more. I knew it would be a little more since I had waited too long to get their hair cut and it would be a little more unruly than usual. She assured me that if they come in regularly, that it would be 25 for each dog. Just a heads up, they only take cash. But the signs all over will help you remember. :) For all those eh/bad reviews, it's a dog salon. It's gonna smell like dogs, yeah maybe it's not the prettiest, most up to date salon, but they do a fantastic job at an incredible price. And I'm sorry but, I'm pretty sure the dogs don't care what the salon looks like. They keep it clean, and I have no worries that my dogs had a great experience. (well as great as a grooming can be for them) Look past the ambiance and look at the quality of work and the affordability and you won't be disappointed. I walked into this salon and nearly turned around and walked back out (thinking back on it, I wish I had). Caged and distressed birds in the same room as crated cats and dogs (one howling Husky among others)? WTH? In a new environment, to keep birds, cats, and dogs in the same room is atrocious. They stress each other out. I'm sad this salon doesn't have the common sense to know that a birds squawk is dreadfully painful for dogs and cats sensitive hearing, dogs barking/howling/whining is going to stress out the cats even more, and housing them all in the same room is plain cruel. The store is run down, dingy looking, humid, loud, and was stressful for me (let alone my poor dog). I gave Bayview the benefit of the doubt and bit my knuckles for the next few hours. The cut was ok, the price was good, but I will continue the search for a new groomer. One aspect of the groom that I really disliked was some cheap rank perfume that was sprayed on him. The smell was overwhelming and it smelled like I was in the middle of a dance floor at a meat head jock nightclub (gross). We usually went to Petco for my dogs nail trimming but I got tired of them being sassy and high prices So I tried out this place and it's only five dollars for nails trimming and they are always so sweet. Plus they are a small family business so that's a plus! We are always in and out within five minutes. My pug is really dramatic with his nails being trimmed but they do so good. We have tried multiple grooming places and no one had been willing to work with him. My husband took out shihtzu puppy there today for his very first cut. We let his hair grow out so that we could get the desired cut we wanted. Unfortunately we didn't get anything close to what we showed the lady. I've NEVER BEEN SO UPSET. My puppy looks like he has mange. His complete cut is an uneven rushed pathetic mess!!!! I went back but they were closed which probably was a good thing. This place needs to be shut down! Save your $$ people and go to ROBINS GROOMING NEST ON LITTLE CREEK RD. The pleasant experience started with the phone call to make the appointment. The lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and upbeat. She offered to call for a same day appt if there was a cancellation. This was my first time at Bayview, I decided to try a new groomer closer to home. I arrived early, check in was prompt. The staff was attentive to my pup who can be a handful! She came out looking and smelling fabulous! I was very pleased and I think I found a new groomer! Have your pet groomed here, and only here. These ladies are amazing. Not only are the workers incredibly friendly and actually care about your pet, they do an amazing job. The process could also not be any simpler: Call to make an appointment, drop your pet off and go home and relax for a couple of hours. They will call you once everything is done. You will also not find any better price for the quality of work they do. Tipping is well deserved. They also remember the type of groom that works best for your pet. I had just moved to town and happened upon Bayview Pet. My four legged baby needed to be trimmed up so I made an appt and brought her in just to learn that she sat in a metal cage almost all day (the way she had to pee when we walked outside i'm not even sure they take the dogs out). They take as many appts as they can but don't get to your pets in a timely manner which is stressful in my opinion on the animals with the constant barking, dryers and lord knows the smell sure didn't help. Just the few minutes I was there checking in and out I could see they "man handled" the dogs they were drying and working on. I have not been back since and don't plan on it. I wouldn't accept this for my children and wont pay someone to treat my pet this way either. read more

FLEAS. I would give this place no stars if i could. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH FLEAS. Took my dog here on Halloween and within the next day or two i found fleas on her. She is not an outside dog and she isn't around any other dogs ever so i know for a fact it was from there. When i called and told them about the situation, hoping they would offer me a treatment or money to pay for one knowing how expensive it can be, she just said "we try to clean the towels as regularly as possible and separate the dogs that have fleas but sometimes all it takes is one". Not something i wanna here after spending $70 on a treatment already at the time i called. Here we are, a month later, still dealing with them. No matter how many times we clean her, completely tear the house apart to clean it, pay hundreds of dollars in treatments for my dog and the house, we are still finding them on her. This place is disgusting and has terrible people working there. Please don't take your baby here. read more

Love this place. We have a shepherd/lab mix, so we don't get him cut- but we take him regularly to get a bath, his nails trimmed, and his ears cleaned. They are always great, and the lady who runs the place knows our dog by name when he comes in. The place is a hole in the wall at a run down shopping center (I think it's the only business still open), but don't let it deter you. All of the animals there when I have been in seem perfectly happy and calm- and my nervous by nature dog is always happy, and best of all smells good! They take cash only, but the prices are insanely reasonable ($25 for us, and I always tip) so just head to the ATM on your way to pick up your pooch! read more

Supporting local businesses is important to me and was definitely a factor in trying this salon out. I've lived in several different states and have paid an arm and a leg to get my dog foo foo'd. Bayview Pet Salon, though, cuts the sh*t (no pun intended!) and actually gets your animal CLEAN for a more-than-reasonable price. Other places, like the chain pet stores, just rob you blind and make your dog "appear" to be clean. When I picked my dog up from Bayview, he smelled marvelous, had a beautiful trim and was as clean as I've seen him in a long time!
