It is very bike-friendly, but don't forget to check the hours for bike rentals if that's what you plan on doing. There is a tram/shuttle that takes you to the very tip from the visitor's center but the path is bikeable/walkable as well. Parking is adequate and there are a number of well marked trails and boardwalks here to explore. One full day was all I needed here.

Now…read moreI'm able to carry on that Legacy to my son and daughter as well. 9 Mile Pier is located exactly where it says. You keep going straight down 9 Mile and you will dead end right into it. You will have to take a walk to get to where you want to be. There's a break wall on each side and finally when you walk about a mile down you reach the end of the pier. There is always a variety of people fishing. I have caught my fair share of his share with my little guy anywhere from panfish to bass that could probably hold a record. This is kind of a secret gem but not too many people know about because it's kind of tucked away. It's great to pack a picnic grab your fishing pole bring your kids and enjoy a warm day and Summer by the water.

We all know that Provincial Parks can get pretty busy with families camping on weekends through the…read moresummer. If you'd like a little more peace and quiet, I'd definitely recommend a mid-week stay. The sites don't offer a lot of privacy and are quite close together. Although we were camping in tents we had an electrical site and it was too far from the washrooms to make a trip in the afternoon, let alone in the middle of the night. The beach is ok. The shore ranges from soft sand near the campsites to very rocky down at the south end. The rocky parts weren't so nice, but the sand was great and the water was a good temperature once you were in. We didn't see any bike rental facilities and most campers seemed to bring their own. Washrooms ranged from very clean at certain times of the day to abysmal in the evening hours. There were SO many spiders here at this time of year. If you have a fear of them, it may be something to think about before you book. I would not camp at Rondeau again. We had fun, but it was the company, not the facilities or the park that made it.

We arrived a bit before the person who made the reservations and they basically told us "you're out of luck" and told us we had to wait for them. They didn't tell us we could get verbal confirmation to go on to our sites over the phone from the person who booked. When the person who booked arrived they were again rude and not super helpful when it came to our questions. Our sites weren't bad. Mine was up on a hill, Awesome if if rains but otherwise meh. The bathrooms were super close and the water was right beside one of our other sites. The showers apparently don't work? Or at least the ones attached to our washroom area. We turned them on, nothing. The bugs are HORRENDOUS right now. Swarms of Mosquitos, something called a fish fly for most of the afternoon and apparently ticks are rampant in the area (we didn't find any but we didn't hike or hang out in the long grass). At dusk there was this odd humming sound which we then realized was all the bugs! Bring bug spray. And a bug shelter. Kids are out yelling pretty early (8am) which isn't the parks fault but if you want some quiet, bring earplugs.

This park is absolutely beautiful! And it adds so much to the cute little town of St. Thomas…read more I visited on a sunny day in May with my family, and we had a great time. Parking is free, the park itself is beautiful - there were bridges, a mini waterfall, lakes, a playground and a splash pad! Little critters are everywhere - turtles, snails (big ones too!), and lots of squirrels and birds! Waterworks Park seems like the perfect place for a picnic, a mini day trip, or just a place to relax. I can't wait to visit this place again! The drive from London to St. Thomas to go here is definitely worth it.

I've gone to all the different parks in St Thomas and most of them are REALLY NICE, but this one and Pinafore Park are truly great. You want a playground? check. You need a splashpad? check. Want a nice paved path to push a stroller around for a walk? check. You want nice gardens and just nice pleasant landscaping. check. Heck i even heard/saw people fishing in the river that's nearby? I don't even fish and that sounds like a awesome bonus! And i used to do the Pokemon thing and there's a TON of stops and gyms or whatever there so you can literally walk around a beautiful park playing your game or taking a seat on one of the benches, maybe have a coffee with you and chill. It's great... there's bathrooms and change rooms, its never too busy. I have zero bad to say about this place. Bring your kids.... enjoy it, we are lucky to have this.
