In February 2013 I started training at Framingham Taekwondo under Master Roman de Sousa. Where do I begin? He's incredibly experienced as an athlete, an instructor, and a school owner. He is excellent at judging people's skills right off the bat, and customizing amazing, uplifting classes that challenge everyone, regardless of their level. Want to train for self defense? a fun, challenging workout? to compete? This school delivers, whatever your personal goals may be. As far as the students go, they've quickly become my friends. It's not every day you can walk into a gym or martial arts school and feel instantly welcomed. The camaraderie here is real, and everyone wants you to succeed, and you can't help but join right in, and feel the same towards everyone else. The assistant instructors are super nice, patient, and eager to help before or after class, and they are excellent at teaching the kids as well. There is plenty of parking, two training floors, changing rooms, bathroom, a waiting/viewing area, and the school is exceptionally clean at all times. I train Monday through Thursday and it's truly the highlight of my evenings. No need to look any further, check out Framingham Taekwondo!

My son and I have been training with the Cha's for years and can say this is one of the very best…read moremartial arts schools in the Boston Area. After looking at many different schools, we were sold on the Cha family as soon as we watched one of their classes for children. The Cha's artfully mixed rigor and discipline with compassion and understanding in managing a diverse group of students while keeping the class fun but structured. We were also impressed with their offering of family classes that allowed parents and children to train together--something which helped keep my son going through the program and kept him committed past his black belt. The Cha's are also very committed to the community they have built among their school's members. They do what they can to help and support families and were outstanding during the pandemic by structuring online classes, developing a remote testing program so that students could advance in rank, and driving and delivering belts to the students. Leading by example, the Cha's have created a community of members who are all supportive and respectful of each other. Since re-opening in the summer of 2021 in a beautiful new location, the Cha's are offering an outstanding program of in-person training (masked for now). Cha's Taekwon-Do is an excellent place for children to build confidence and discipline (that translates to school work), for families to train together and share in the experience, and for adults to improve their fitness and flexibility while learning a practical martial art. I have seen many other martial arts schools over the years and none compares to Cha's Taekwon-Do. It is definitely worth a look.

I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a martial arts school for themselves or their children.

It was the best decision I have ever made for my daughter. My daughter has gained so much confidence by being there. The instructors are top notch. By doing that, it helped her persevere not only at Tkd but also at school. Kudos to the instructors. You don't know it but YOU make a difference in my daughters life. Most of all, I love how everyone there is like family. Hanmi TKD recently started a completion training class which my daughter attends. She loves it. Not only does she practice her competition forms but also get out of her comfort zone and compete at tournaments. There, every single parent, student and instructors cheer on each other. i love how the instructors goes with them to all the completions. Not many schools does that. The staff was incredibly engaging and patient with nearly twenty 8 year olds. The kids were eager to learn and listen to the activities during the party, which I think speaks to the staff connecting with the kids. There was a ton of variety for the kids to do. The studio is very clean. Plenty of room for the kids to eat snacks and cake as well as a viewing section for the parents who wanted to stay and watch. Our birthday girl loved the cutting of the cake with a saber. After cake, staff set up an ultimate obstacle course for the kids to get out even more energy! While this location is a bit far for us, I learned they are opening up a Concord location in June and I will definitely be signing up my girls for classes.
