Following a great day in Oshkosh at Airventure, we wanted to find a good supper club on our way back to our hotel in Madison. Yelp came thru with a great recommendation. Although they were dealing with a staff shortage due to a medical emergency, we were seated and ordered from the menu the broasted chicken. The salad bar was a perfect Wisconsin salad bar, only missing braunschweiger. The meal came with the best chicken noodle soup Ive ever had. The broasted chicken was perfect. Good service, great food, nice view of the lake, easy part, and a good beer to start the evening. read more

The first impression is how nice the staff is. This is an old-school super club buffet. Nice selection of fish shrimp and pasta. We arrived late...half hour before closing...No problem...we were seated and enjoyed a great dinner. They even kept refreshing the selections even though our party was the only partakers. Went there last night as some of the restaurants around Fox Lake had long wait times. Call them at 5 PM. I was able to get a 6:30 pm reservation. Ordered the prime rib for myself and a half slab of ribs for my daughter. We had no idea what to expect, never being here before. It was nice to see a buffet there with some really good entrées, like prime, rib, shrimp, scallops, etc.. pretty good deal for 26.99 all you can eat was salad bar. But we ordered meals off the menu as mentioned above which included the salad bar, which was delicious. The ribs were meaty flavorful my daughter, who is very picky loved them. They were absolutely delicious. I tried them myself. The prime rib was the best prime rib I've ever had, and I have been faithful to Schaumburg's and other restaurants in the Fox Lake area. We will be returning to Bayside supper club because of this wonderful experience. The owners, Mike and Doreen could not have been friendlier. It was a five star experience from their friendly staff from their amazing food !!! read more

Wee chose Bayside for our NYE dinner due to their AMAZINGLY priced buffet. It boasted baked fish, scallops, lobster bisque, all sorts of sides, salad bar and PRIME RIB. All of that was only $26.99. We made reservations but it was very quiet when we got there. When we left around 6, it had really picked up. But we were there early on NYE because of our young kiddo, so that'll happen. We sat in the large banquet hall space, as the side room facing the lake was booked. This space was directly by the bar, but was pretty unkempt. Our kiddo was getting restless at one point and I said to just let her play out her energy in a big open space at the back of the hall... it was so dirty back there! There were still food remnants from the last event. I'm all for the nostalgia of older supper clubs, where chairs don't match, and not every table has a table cloth, but there's a line between "vintage" and dirty. The food was mediocre, and I'm not sure this should've been our first meal here. The prime rib was so overdone from sitting in a steaming tray that it wasn't that great. The gravy in the tips was very tart, and mostly what I inhaled was their amazing buns and the cheesy red potatoes. The cheesy sauce was a versionI haven't seen before, it was delicious. I say that it shouldn't have been our first meal here, because after thinking about it, lots of the food kind of tasted like it was frozen or out of a can at one point. And I get it, how else do you keep the price point that low? But I have hope that their regular menu may have better tasting options. We drove an hour for this meal, but hoping to stop back some day for a second chance. read more

Omg had Easter Brunch. Came from Madison to join my Sister , niece. It was the worst food ever. I was shocked. Even desert was dumped right out of a bag. My sister was served coffee in a Styrofoam cup. Powdered eggs, Mac and cheese was horrible. Frozen vegetables in water. Salad bar was awful. Not even any fruit. Not even hot. This place was OK, nothing special. It had an open salad bar during Covid, small but it's fresh. They had a Saturday Prime Rib bar, and it looked good but I just had the Prime rib, it was good, not great but the price was not too bad. If you're hungry it's worth the stop but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

Met some friends here on a Saturday night, Beaver Dam was in the middle for us. None of us had been here before. We arrived about 6pm and the place was very quiet. We had a few drinks at the bar before sitting down to our table. The Hostess (owner?) was very nice to us, and our server, Pam, was excellent and fun. They offered a prime rib buffet that my husband enjoyed. I wasn't paying much attention, but I noticed he had (thin) prime rib, chicken fingers, shrimp, cheesy potatoes......All dinners came with the salad bar, which noy many people have anymore. Everything there was fresh, crisp and cold. It had your standard issue salad and toppings, French, Ranch and an Italian dressing, and about four mayonaise type salads. My ribeye had a great flavor and was tender, served with a baked potato. The other two had a filet and the prime rib. Everyone enjoyed their food, and we even had a view of the pelicans on the lake that night. We had made reservations, but the place was very empty. I believe they were closing early for a private event as we were leaving. We likely won't return only because we are not from in town, but I will definitely recommend it to others. read more

Ate here recently. The staff was attentive, bathrooms very clean and nicely done (I hate dumpy or old bathrooms in restaurants), the decorations on the walls were like an art show for Terry Redlin and similar artists (weird), dining area was well lit and a pleasant atmosphere, the menu was straight forward. Prices were too high for what I got but the food was good. Not spectacular and a little simplistic but hot and of good flavor. The drinks were very weak. This is my main gripe here. What they serve are kiddy cocktails. I could barely taste any liquor in my drinks. So don't order any cocktails and you will be fine. read more

This is the type of supper club our parents went to when they were young. I think the decor is awesome. Time has not changed this place, and that's a good thing. Very good food, excellent excellent excellent salad bar. This is the definition of a Wisconsin supper club. Give me Feils any day over some fancy steakhouse that serves their steak with more garnishes than meat! Very cool place to dine. I would recommend it to anyone. read more
