If you're a small business and you want to build your business opportunity I would use a different approach with your customers I wish I had chosen a different florist.

Judy lives for the flower shop, she is the sweetest old lady on the planet. Ernie is her son and though he looks rough around the edges, he is a teddy bear. These people have very affordable prices and hearts of gold! I used them to do my wedding in 1995 and I have sent 5 other weddings their way since then. I always use them for my floral needs.

When I called, there was no attempt at an apology; the man on the phone just took down my information, said they'd "had a lot of issues" and he'd call me back when he figured out what happened. (Surprise: he didn't.) I made a second phone call that went about the same way, but worse, since he asked for all the same information over again. I asked when I could expect a call back and got the reply "probably this afternoon." Shockingly, that didn't happen either. (Vs other places will call to confirm first etc!) since this was a surprise, I did everything I can to ensure my friend was home & kept checking the status on the floral shops website which was sent to me via text when confirming my order. (Casually asking when her Friday would be done, watching the Snapchat map and then FaceTiming her around delivery time.) I then anxiously waited for the update... at 7:20pm, I got a text from the floral shop. I assumed it would going to be a successful delivery update since it was an hour into the window, but instead it was a- "ooops. System Error. Can we deliver tomorrow? " Again, since this shop puts it on the sender to ensure the person is home- this is a big ask to now try to see how I can make sure she is home for another time period while maintaining a surprise. I assumed they would then offer to contact the person to try to keep some level of surprise or offer to upgrade the bouquet. Simple and easy customer service. But no, after a bit- another text message came through - again stating it can be delivered tomorrow or a Refund. Just as simple as that. No Other attempts To right the mistake and make it worth the wasted time. What an absolute waste of time & energy. The website performed as if a same day delivery was not a problem at all or I never would have picked this shop. And everything was showing confirmed.... Until it wasn't.

I live out of state and couldn't be there, so this was something meaningful I wanted to do for her. I also couldn't really afford to spend that much right now, but it felt important. When my family sent me a photo, I was honestly surprised at how small the arrangement was compared to what's shown on their website. The flowers themselves were nice, but the size and overall value didn't match what I expected for $100. This ended up being the last time I was able to send my grandma flowers before she passed. I reached out and the only resolution they offered was 15% off a future order. Given the situation, that didn't feel like a meaningful resolution. Spend more money in the future to be disappointed again. I gave them a chance to make it right, but unfortunately they didn't.

She is 89 now and every year we have given her a corsage and laughed about the memory. This year we had a deviating family circumstance with one of our children and completely forgot about Mother's Day. At the last minute I remembered my mother-in-law and ran to Lillia. They were closing, but let me in anyway and made a beautiful corsage. They wouldn't allow me to pay and gave me a big hug after hearing our story.
