Thank heavens! I found Streamline Physical Therapy. Ryan Spencer exemplifies everything a…read morephysical therapist should be: professional, sensitive, knowledgeable, encouraging . . . I could go on and on. This review is a little long but Ryan and Streamline deserve the praise. I have been to at least six other therapists over the last few decades. One was worse than the other. I have had therapists give me exercises and then walk off or chit chat with others rather than checking progress or form. I have been given exercises that were way to difficult given my condition at the time. I have been given exercises at other places for a problem and later learned that those exercises were ill chosen and would have no impact on my issue. I have even be kicked out of a physical therapy place in Tempe: after my third session, I was having terrible pain on my leg, the good leg, not the one I came to therapy for! I asked the therapist to check that I was doing things correctly. He watched once or twice, said I was doing it fine, and walked off. Two more sessions like this. At my fourth visit, I said I was still having pain. The therapist ended our sessions and said we needed to take a break. A break? Seriously!? Unlike these others, Ryan Spencer is hands on and a spectacular diagnostician. That gift of diagnosing correctly is crucial in physical therapy. And I am grateful that he has figured out my problem and has chosen the proper exercises, graduating them as I get rid of pain and helping me increase strength. But here is another example of his expertise. I was having a burning pain, a new pain for several weeks, on the top of my foot. (I was at Streamline for a different leg, different problem.) The burning pain became so horrific that I went to a podiatrist. He looked at my white hair and said that it was arthritis, said something about a window of 5 or six years for surgery (for what?) and was out the door. When I saw Ryan at my regular session, he asked how things were going and I told the story about the burning foot and the podiatrist. Ryan honed in and started asking questions. He "diagnosed" the problem and, with a couple of sessions, resolved the burning . . . obviously a pinched nerve. I have not had that problem since. Ryan listens and, with his expertise about the body, he is extremely effective in helping people heal. I love that he gives homework and is extremely patient in helping me learn the exercises. I love that he knows when to push and when to tell me that I am overdoing it. And, he does not coddle me or be dismissive of my goals because I am older. Two other things to frame my review of how great Ryan and Streamline are: first, my background includes teaching tai chi and qi gong as well as studying kung fu and I want to return to being able to practice without pain; second, I am kind of bitchy . . . in my eyes, it is not bitchy but expecting high quality. Streamline and Ryan embody that high quality. Brittany is at the front desk and she is wonderful. She makes the place feel like the Cheers of physical therapy. People here are real, positive, authentic, professional, caring (real caring . . . not pretend crap) but, above all, laser focused on the patient/client's success. Totally, totally recommend Streamline.

Dr. Krista never gave up and her approach is safe, respectful and well thought out. I would recommend Dr. Krista and Streamline Performance Physical Therapy for any women that has pelvic floor issues and needs a pelvic floor therapist. Plus for any new mom who just gave birth, pelvic floor therapy should always be recommended. I wish I knew about this when I gave birth 32 years ago. I think the healing process would have been so much better. I feel so lucky to have been referred to her. The office is full of positive energy and happy staff that greet you when you first arrive and when you leave. Brittany is great and I am happy I have found a very comfortable place to get the help I needed to enjoy life again.

I spent months unsure of what to do about a shoulder injury before a friend recommended Spooner and…read moreI finally scheduled an appointment. After a lot of negative experiences with medical offices, Spooner was a huge breath of fresh air! Literally every person on the team from the front desk to the therapists themselves are friendly and helpful. I worked with PT Julia and tech Chris, and they were both phenomenal - true experts in what they do. I also met with PT Alix a few times, and she's equally amazing. I went in afraid I was going to spend a lot of time and money only to be told I needed surgery. Instead I walked out three months later with a shoulder that is almost entirely healed, and an easy-to-follow program to do at home. I still can't get over what a pleasant experience this was from start to finish. They have truly set the bar for all other providers I see in the future. A few things that set Spooner apart from other medical offices I've been to: 1. They offer a free consultation. If you're not sure physical therapy can help you, go in for a consultation! You'll get an honest answer. 2. They did not pressure me to schedule excessive or unnecessary appointments. I went in thinking I'd need to go 2-3 times a week and was pleasantly surprised that they recommended once a week, and then eventually every two weeks. 3. The billing is transparent and honest. My insurance wouldn't give them a price ahead of time, so Spooner had me pay an estimate based on what other clients with my insurance paid. When my claims were processed and their estimate was slightly higher than my contracted rate, they immediately applied all of the credit from my overpayments. I didn't even have to ask for it - I just walked into my appointment, greeted by the pleasant news that I didn't need to pay that day because I had credit on my account! 4. There were never any surprise charges or codes added on to my appointment. When Julia suggested we try dry needling (highly recommend btw), she made it clear there was no additional fee, and that was accurate information. 5. I feel very set up for success doing exercises at home. They have a really helpful app with my personalized program in it that includes videos of how to do the exercises, and they also gave me printed versions as well. (If you want physical therapy to be successful, you MUST do the exercises at home!) I could go on and on about how great Julia and the Spooner team are. I really can't recommend this practice highly enough.

The staff is friendly and upbeat and I felt comfortable from the moment I first walked in. The desk crew is very accommodating, even after I've had to cancel and rearrange appointment schedules more than once. My therapists have carefully evaluated my needs and provided realistic expectations regarding progress. I have exercises to do at home and the assistants monitoring my program are helpful and encouraging while trained to insist on "just two more". Julie has provided me with great suggestions, information and treatment suggestions. They are the best!

Horrible physical therapy business! Find another physical therapy office to go to…read more I had been a patient for over a year and at first was very impressed with their flexibility, understanding, and dedication to their patient's health. Over the course of several months I began to notice the location consistently short-staffed and the workers very unhappy. After surgery in April, I requested a billing reversal that I had mentioned to them back in February. I was consistently told "we will talk to the billing department and have them call you back." Needless to say, I never received a call back and the billing department and manager/owner was NEVER available for me to speak with... Conveniently. I was told several times by Capone (receptionist) that the claim was almost finished and my co-pays were on their way to being reimbursed. It's now almost October and I have not received a phone call nor any correspondence regarding my claim. I was told that the owner Joseph was a "greedy" owner and doesn't know how to run the business efficiently. Had a simple phone call been made to me, this matter could have been resolved weeks ago. Be certain Arizona Sports that you will no longer receive good reviews from me or referrals.

I…read morewas very happy with my first visit, started with a thorough consult and some dedicated time with one of the PTs there. Then I continued on to my exercises with a student who was very helpful. My second appt a week later I was with a different PT who spent less than 5 min on me, no cupping or additional therapy. Then I was on my own to do my exercises which I hardly remembered so I had to approach one of the students for help. I found this odd because I've been to physical therapy before and had a more hands on experience from the staff. Repeat all of this on my third visit. Had another different PT who spent more time with me than the second one but once that care was over I was on my own. Then on my fourth visit I had yet another different PT, even though my appts were at the same date/time each week. I did some looking on Reddit and folks in the PT community refer to places like these as "mills" which it totally felt like. The nail in the coffin for me was getting charged for a needling service (recommended by one of the physical therapists there) even though at no point was I informed that it was an additional cost. Bummed out because the location was convenient and staff was kind, I just think the way the place is run could be more patient-focused.
