T.O.P.S. is the only physical therapy practice I will use in Phoenix! I used them for my gait re-training after pregnancy and for the pain in my spine from breastfeeding. Now I'm doing rehab for my knee arthroscopy. Their facility is beautiful and gentle, well-trained dogs roam around the staff and patients. They have a manual therapy philosophy, which means that their skilled physical therapists work the muscles and other tissue with their bodies before you are asked to do your strengthening and rehab exercises. I wish I wasn't writing this review but I hope it's helpful to any future patients needing PT. I was very happy with my first visit, started with a thorough consult and some dedicated time with one of the PTs there. Then I continued on to my exercises with a student who was very helpful. My second appt a week later I was with a different PT who spent less than 5 min on me, no cupping or additional therapy. Then I was on my own to do my exercises which I hardly remembered so I had to approach one of the students for help. I found this odd because I've been to physical therapy before and had a more hands on experience from the staff. Repeat all of this on my third visit. Had another different PT who spent more time with me than the second one but once that care was over I was on my own. Then on my fourth visit I had yet another different PT, even though my appts were at the same date/time each week. I did some looking on Reddit and folks in the PT community refer to places like these as "mills" which it totally felt like. The nail in the coffin for me was getting charged for a needling service (recommended by one of the physical therapists there) even though at no point was I informed that it was an additional cost. Bummed out because the location was convenient and staff was kind, I just think the way the place is run could be more patient-focused. read more

I was referred here by my primary care doctor. It didn't occur to me that I needed to check Yelp, but clearly I should have. After a 25 min drive and taking time off, I arrive to find no one wearing masks. When I ask if the person I would be working with would wear a mask, I am told that the "clinicians aren't wearing masks". This is a healthcare facility. Even my hairdresser wears a mask. These kind of places are the reason we are still having more than 3000 cases of COVID A DAY in AZ. Total waste of time. I will be giving this feedback to my doctor as well. No way he should be referring people to a facility that refuses even basic health safety measures. read more

I did research prior to choosing TOP'S. I liked what I read on their website and they are close to my home. I had a bumpy start with them after hitting really bad traffic on the way to my initial consultation and I had to reschesule. When I called in to let them know I felt slightly reprimanded. When I arrived at my next appointment the person at the front desk was very apologetic about what happened. I really appreciated that. Fast forward, I've been working with Riley to resolve my SI joint-pain. I was in pretty bad condition. We started out with general PT and then he suggested we try dry kneedling. I'd heard about it and decided to try it ---- Ahmmmazing results. I had my fifth session today and I am almost pain free. It's pretty incredible. Yes, the environment is pretty casual and they've had several very friendly dogs there on a couple of occasions however, it all works. read more

STAFF DON'T WEAR MASKS HERE. Before the pandemic, my husband had PT here and loved it, so when I needed help for a shoulder injury I had the doctor refer me here. I was very excited because I'd heard such good things. However, I was shocked to walk in and see zero staff wearing masks. No thanks. I've spent a year avoiding COVID and I'm not about to risk having wasted all that effort to pick it up getting PT in an unsafe environment. Addition in response to reply from TOPS below: Having never had PT before, I was surprised to learn my insurance has a different structure for payment, and asked for clarification on that since I'd never come across that before. However, that had no bearing on my decision not to pursue treatment with your business, since the same will be true no matter where I go, and the amount is insignificant. Both state and federal officials currently recommend masks and vaccines. No masks were present among TOPS staff, and when I asked whether all staff had been vaccinated, I was told that some were and some weren't. After calling around, I learned that Banner PT does require staff and patients to wear masks, so that's where I'll be treated. People who are unconcerned about healthcare providers wearing a mask in the middle of a pandemic should go ahead with TOPS, because by all accounts, they're great. Just not for me. read more

I give 3 stars instead 1 because the facility is beautiful, new and pretty clean. The PT (blond girl from Cali) that helped me the first 2 times massaging me before exercises had a good hand but the 3th time I had a tall slim guy too busy making jockes and been funny with colleagues to focus on me and I wake up the day after with numbness in both my harms and hands. He massaged me weird and I tought too close to my cervical spine. He probably flared up the area. I was also very fastrated they gave me only silly exercises and a bunch of non sense excuses for not working on my hip stability with additional exercises and the worst part they never check on me to make sure my body was in the right position while performing them. I did a lot of PT after 2 car accidents and this place is one of the worst I have been to. read more

Mila Baich was the one who checked me out, as a customer from the start I gotten an impression from her as passive aggressive, I was referred from my doctor that TOPS is the "best" physical therapy provider. But as I got to experience while speaking to her she has been rude to me. When I got referred for my back AND my ankle she had claimed I wasn't refer to do my ankle and just my back, and had stuck with the same answer until we had went back and forth until I showed her a physical paper referral that I was able to get checked for both. The last situation was, when she checked me out, she had told me that it was going to be $50 for copay, as I already paid for my first visit. But for my second visit, nobody had said anything about the copay. Then I mentioned to her "my last visit I didn't have to pay " Then she had claimed that it was going to be $100. As I told her, "hold on real quick, I'm going to give my mom a call," she had starred me down like a hawk, like I was going to leave. As she was whispering to her colleagues and watching me and starring me down. I think it is unprofessional and I hope she does better with her customers service. I had issues with my lower back for a while, and tried regular massages and Chiropractors, but it only helped cover up the issues temporarily. A friend recommended TOPS and sure enough they were able to diagnose me properly and give me exercises to get me back on track. Everyone is really friendly and knowledgeable so they aren't just having you go through the motions, but are explaining what's going on while you're doing it. WOW! So professional and their experience in physical therapy is top notch. My son had a hamstring injury from lacrosse on a Saturday, they were able to get him in on that Monday and he worked with Chad and Amy for 2 weeks and was back to playing lacrosse and football with no problems. They showed him stretches to do before and after every practice. Now my daughter is here with her shoulder that is needing work since it is volleyball season. Over the years we have been to several Physical therapy places and by far T.O.P. 'S is best with their collective knowledge of treatments that work. With all the therapist we work with you never feel rushed and they work on the injury as long as needed, you do not feel rushed through the therapy, as some places have a stopwatch and rushing through the treatment. Also as a side note, in the mornings we were greeted every morning with 2 miniature Aussie's (Leo and Levi) and lucky (golden retriever). Had shoulder surgery a few months ago and was needing PT. My doctor recommend TOPS. I've never had to go through any type of physical therapy so needless to say I was not sure what to expect. I injured my hip about 4 years ago resulting in several surgeries which unfortunately has had me in physical therapy for some time. I have gone to many physical therapists, all around the valley and it always seems that I come up short. After my recent hip replacement I decided I was going to do some real research for a physical therapist that I thought could really get me back to where I wanted to be and offered the right approach to the process of rehab seeing as I am only 28 and I want to get back to being just that! I had my first appointment with Dr Amy this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. First of all the facility is perfect and it seems to have everything that a physical therapy clinic should have! It is set up like a real gym and they have a lot of great equipment that is not out dated. It is also clean, organized and well kept. The staff at this clinic is very friendly, approachable and they seem to have a genuine interest in helping their patients reach their rehab goals. Dr Amy showed a real concern and emphasis on making sure to get me to my goals and I don't have any doubt that I will be back to my normal self in no time! She is very knowledgeable, and she does not cut corners with the laziness I have seen in so many other physical therapists. Lastly I really enjoyed the fact that the staff in this facility seems like a big family and I am pretty pumped to have found a place I feel like I can actually get better at! It's very obvious tops doesn't care about you, they care about your money. Read the response, I'm already being told good luck with no resolution. Typically I don't write reviews, but this review is serious because I want to demonstrate how much tops can care less about how your doing physically. Dogs hair is all over the ground, they allow 2 dogs to run around the facility totally unprofessional!!!!! Physical therapy requires care and not a money hungry owner.
