But there are plenty of familiar favourites for the less adventurous. It's frequented by local Chinese families, which is always a good sign. Staff are friendly and efficient. The dim sum menu has only restarted in the last year and a half when they got in a new chef. The service is always prompt and courteous. Kids will be fascinated by the large fish tank and water wheel feature. The preponderence of Chinese clientele tells its own story - we are very fussy when it comes to food. The food is of good quality, quantity and ingredients - large prawns in har gau and cheong fun, crispy pastry for the char siew sow and lovely roasted meats. The food isn't greasy, a common problem for lower quality dim sum places. The pastry skins are all thin for the steamed dishes and crispy for the fried dishes. They lose a star for a slightly small menu with some old favourites missing like siu loong bow and shark fin dumpling. Also, they used to serve suckling pig and it's still on the menu but no longer available. They also do an evening menu but I can't really comment on that. It's a great place for dim sum and what they do have on the menu is first class.

Although we were looked after by several staff, they worked well together as a team, and were both friendly and extremely efficient - despite the restaurant being very busy. A nice feature if you sit at the ear is being able to see the kitchens - which work at a frenetic pace. Since the pandemic, it is clear that their take-away business has mushroomed, so orders were flying in and out at speed. I have upped the review to 5*.

They have all the usual British Anglo-Canto favourites. However, I'm a bit sneaky and sometimes get them to cook me some Malaysian dishes off menu like mixed seafood hor fun Malaysian style. They're happy to oblige if they know the dish. I usually take away but the restaurant and bar look nice. Sadly their Morden branch closed last year and I now need to collect from here as they no longer deliver as far as Morden.

Had takeout (or takeaway as they call it here), it was all tasty and not westernized (normally would have said Americanized, but I don't know if they do it in the UK like they do in the US). Looks like a small, family run place, with an older teen running the front, parents in the back, which are often the best.

The sizzling mixed seafood in black bean sauce had generous portions of large prawns, scallops, mussels and squid. I would say their emphasis would be on noodles with some bento boxes and rice dishes as well. I've tried their seafood ho fun (broad rice stick noodles) which was nice if a bit pricey at over £7. We had Assorted Crispy Yum to start with (prawn, crab, salmon, duck and corn fritters). Those choices were really good, especially the crab and the duck. For the mains, I had the beef Phuket which was amazing - tender short rib of beef with a delicious sauce. My partner had the red curry but wasn't too impressed with it. He had the duo of banana for dessert which he highly rated but I couldn't eat anymore food. The owner recommended a port which my partner had and said was one of the best ports that he had tasted. Overall, a great experience and will definitely be heading back there again.
