But there are plenty of familiar favourites for the less adventurous. It's frequented by local Chinese families, which is always a good sign. Staff are friendly and efficient. The dim sum menu has only restarted in the last year and a half when they got in a new chef. The service is always prompt and courteous. Kids will be fascinated by the large fish tank and water wheel feature. The preponderence of Chinese clientele tells its own story - we are very fussy when it comes to food. The food is of good quality, quantity and ingredients - large prawns in har gau and cheong fun, crispy pastry for the char siew sow and lovely roasted meats. The food isn't greasy, a common problem for lower quality dim sum places. The pastry skins are all thin for the steamed dishes and crispy for the fried dishes. They lose a star for a slightly small menu with some old favourites missing like siu loong bow and shark fin dumpling. Also, they used to serve suckling pig and it's still on the menu but no longer available. They also do an evening menu but I can't really comment on that. It's a great place for dim sum and what they do have on the menu is first class.

The quality dim sum is comparable or even better than many places in London Chinatown. They even have Yolk bun which is not found in many places in London. This is a steamed bun that is smiliar to custard bun but is has a creamy runny salty egg yolk center which has a slightly sandy texture. This bun is best enjoyed hot so when it arrived make sure you eat it first. The mini egg tarts is made well and on a busy weekend they will run out. Once gone they are gone! I love the congee (savoury Chinese rice pudding) because they are huge portion compare to most places and it come served with Chineses savoury doughnuts. But the prices does reflect the size of the portion. There is a lunch rice and noodle menu. On there is a handmade cuttlefish ball noodle. We had half a crispy duck to share and my American friends were happy to let me have my favourite part - gnawing the bones! It's hard to go wrong with crispy duck. Then a selection of starters and the undoubted star was the squid in salt and chilli batter - the squid was nice and tender with crunchy and flavoursome batter. We ordered 2 extra portions! For main course, we rated the duck in honey and lemon sauce highly, with the lemon balancing against the honey well. I got my friends to try the ma po tofu, which may have changed their attitude to tofu! A nice place to catch up and get a tummy full of yummy food.

The decor is quite strange, with a classic piano and aquarium in the restaurant but i guess it gave us something to look at while we waited...and we were waiting for quite a while...maybe this is a good sign as it made me think everything was being cooked freshly from scratch, otherwise they were just being really slow. The service of the waiters was a little on the slow side but luckily we weren't in a rush. The prices were all pretty reasonable as well. I will return if i'm in the area.

I highly recommend the crispy chilli beef, the king prawns with garlic and spring onion and, of course, peking duck. I recently visited this spot and ordered a pot of jasmine tea which was perfect with the meal, it aided digestion and meant that no one became too full or felt sickly after the inappropriately large meal we ate! Really recommend this to any Chinese food fans.

Its an indian restaurant, like so many in this part of London, but Mantra has a special touch: kind of futurist decor, nice food and attentive service. I have not visited it in a while but I pass by everyday and I saw they have renovated the interior... I think its time to go back for some food and great drinks (I really like their Khus lemonade)

The curry was flavorful and the portion of duck meat was generous. The servers are super friendly here. The ambiance was appealing. It gave me a welcomed feeling. My party enjoyed this last meal we had in London. We recommended this place to our friends who live in London right after the meal. I think I will come back again next time I visit London.

Very nice service! I had the vegetarian green papaya salad, and another vegetarian dish with wide flat noodles, the spicy version. The green papaya salad was absolutely delicious. It's one of my favorite thai dishes, but I never thought to order it vegetarian, and I liked it even better without the fish sauce. My second dish was not as good. It had a slightly weird taste in it. And as dishes started being delivered to the tables around me the whole place just had that weird smell about it.
