Bay Station -- I'm there twice a day, five times a week. It's a station like any other station. It has a platform, TVs with the time, weather and news, and ticket boxes.
This station has no funky odour so it automatically gets one star.
It gets another star for the Cumberland entrance, which is cute and never busy so if you have a monthly pass you can avoid the 5 o clock crowds that swarm in from the Bay entrance.
It gets a third star for the collector who sits at the open gate during rush hour and lets people through with passes and tickets. It gets the line moving faster, you don't have to wait for people who are searching their wallets to buy tokens and if you're carrying groceries, you can comfortably pass through without manoeuvring and wobbling past the revolving machine thing.
BONUS: Bay Station is headquarters to the TTC's Lost and Found. If you're jaded by the city life, this place might actually give you some faith in humanity. I left a $20 pie on the subway once and two hours later, when I showed up at the Lost and Found, it was sitting there, waiting for me. At first I hesitated to eat it, but I took my chances. Best pie ever. read more
